Chapter 6. Defeat

That was the last thing he knew happened while he was in control of his body. All after that was a blur. But he did know that somehow, he and Toby got up and fought the attacker. And even managed to hold their ground. But the question plaguing his mind was what the hell happened. How did he move while he was supposedly unconscious. The answer came sooner than he anticipated. But not from Toby. From the mysterious voice inside of his head. Only this time it was clearer, sharper and louder.

"We are the spirits of the Omniblades. We were woken from our slumber by the resonance of Dimension and Foresight blades. My name is Jigen, as inscribed on the sword. My ability allows me to temporarily take control of your body if you are severely wounded in battle. I used my true abilities to fight off Shadow. Or rather we used them. Mirai (Toby's sword-said in a quieter tone) did the same. We fought Shadow but we lost. You two are only alive because he deemed it so. You never would have lived if..."

The voice suddenly cut off. He could not sense the voice. Or even his sword. It had been completely drained of its power. He tried to move but he immediately collapsed.

"It seems this trick takes a huge toll" he said weakly before collapsing once again.

He woke up next to the fireplace, this time in the middle of the jungle, leaves scattered below him as to serve as a comfortable makeshift bed. Toby was staring into the fire, his face pale, hands still trembling. Taiji didn't move. Its not that he didn't have strength, he just found it pointless. He was powerless against one of the Commanders.

"I got knocked out in one blow"- he thought to himself, "how am i ever going to achieve anything if they are this powerful"

He continued to lie there thinking about how neither of them could do anything. They didn't even have a chance to react, let alone fight. But after a while of laying there he got up with newfound confidence and declared:

"I won't let this one defeat stop me. I have to beat them all and get vengeance for my father. If i cant even fight one of them i can't do anything significant. I must train to become stronger, to get the grasp of my true powers, just like Jigen said. I have to go somewhere where i will be able to talk with Jigen again and get her help. Toby got any idea where what is?"

"As a matter of fact yes, but you wont like the answer."

"Tell me, i have to do this, for the sake of justice for my father"

"It's in Rien. It's full of primordial powers tied to Omniblades and their power. But its almost impossible to get there. Now its in the heart of Intergalactic Military. Right next to their HQ."

"So its a lost cause" Taiji said in defeat. There was no way to train without fighting the commanders. And there was no way to beat the commanders without training. It was a conundrum that almost made him loose all hope.

"There is another way. Temples like these are also filled with primordial powers, just on a way lesser scale. That's why you were able to use Jigen's power. All the temples are filled with inscriptions about different Blade users through history. Temple about Jigen is situated about 2 galaxies away so it will take a while. Temple about Mirai is closer. Lets go there first."

Hearing this he was overjoyed. With newfound hope he hurriedly agreed to go to Mirai temple first. They set off towards the ship soon afterwards, wondering what they were going to uncover in the temples.
