CHAPTER 70

c70: The End and the Harvest

The elimination of the Japanese trainers' Pokémon was swift and precise.

After successfully subduing Maeda-kun, Ikuta-kun, and Ishida-kun, both their Pokémon and personnel were fully restrained, under control and unable to resist further.

By the time operations concluded, the clock had passed two in the morning.

---

Kenting – Outside the Japanese trainers' hidden safehouse.

A cool breeze rustled through the trees. The operation team stood in formation, awaiting debrief.

"Yes," Leng Hao spoke into the encrypted communication device, addressing the commander on the other end. "We confirmed that three Japanese trainers had established a covert base in Kenting. Inside, we located three foreign individuals all possessing Elite-level Pokémon based on confirmed battle history."

He continued, his tone professional.

"As of now, all three individuals and their Pokémon have been subdued and secured. We performed an on-site sweep no trace of documents, maps, or intelligence dossiers was found."

"However," he added with emphasis, "we seized a functioning Pokémon healing machine."

He paused for effect.

"It's not a replica or black-market knockoff it's an authentic Pokémon League Gym model healing unit. Fully operational. Standard-issue."

He finished his report succinctly.

"Our team suffered no injuries. Operation complete."

---

Back in the capital, Leng Xin, who had remained awake monitoring communications, sat upright at his desk, eyes narrowing at the word healing machine.

"A Pokémon Healer?" he repeated, voice low but alert.

"And not just any an official Pokémon League model?"

He paused, absorbing the implications.

"Understood. Prioritize secure transport of the captured Japanese trainers and their Pokémon to the capital first."

"Have the healing unit packed and shipped separately tomorrow log its serial and condition."

"Also, send Xiaoxiao to the capital for debrief and further deployment. This success belongs to her too."

Leng Xin finally exhaled in relief.

Foreign operatives on national soil were no trivial matter especially those carrying League-regulated equipment.

Even a minor slip-up could trigger diplomatic tension. But tonight, everything had gone to plan.

---

The mention of a standard Gym Pokémon Healer (Model 033) had caught Leng Xin's attention sharply.

These machines were classified strategic assets capable of fully restoring a Pokémon's health in under a minute, including complex injuries from elemental techniques.

Even counterfeit units, like those found in criminal labs or black markets, were superior to typical Potion or Super Potion treatments.

But this?

This was a genuine Pokémon League issue, the kind only permitted in official Gyms or Pokémon Centers.

The League's global policy strictly prohibited private possession or production of these devices. Each unit, down to its circuit board, was embedded with a serial number and biometric chip registered and tracked in the Global Pokémon Alliance Database.

There were two types:

Large units used in Pokémon Centers capable of healing dozens of Pokémon simultaneously.

Compact models, like the Gym Healer, which could heal one Pokémon at a time, typically used for high-level trainer battles and badge challenges.

The one confiscated in Kenting matched the compact League-certified version.

Leng Xin's expression hardened.

Where had the Japanese trainers obtained such restricted equipment? Every registered unit had a traceable history.

Someone, somewhere, had supplied them with Alliance tech. A leak existed.

---

"Understood!" Leng Hao replied crisply, standing at attention.

Although Leng Hao was a field commander and battle prodigy in his own right, in front of his older brother Leng Xin, he remained humble and disciplined.

Leng Xin's words were law.

And the mission had only just begun.

After the report, Leng Hao first arranged for Xiao Li and Xiao Zhang to immediately depart with the three captured Japanese trainers for secure transport to the capital.

"Xiaoxiao, did you catch all that just now?"

After finalizing the transport protocols, Leng Hao turned to Chen Xiaoxiao.

"Got it! Got it."

Anyway, the situation in Kenting had wrapped up. Since the business here was done, going to the capital was no problem at all.

Chen Xiaoxiao agreed readily, though inwardly she couldn't help but speculate about Leng Xin's intentions in summoning her to the capital so urgently.

"Alright, let's exchange contact info. I'll follow up with you tomorrow."

The two traded Pokédex IDs and confirmed secure channels.

Leng Hao and Xiao Wang then took charge of transporting the captured Pokémon Healing Machine a standard-issue League Gym model to the airport.

Meanwhile, Chen Xiaoxiao returned to her holiday villa in Kenting, taking a moment to unwind.

She took a long hot shower, changed into her Pikachu-print pajamas, turned on her system interface, and checked the updated results from the battle.

Lapras – Lv. 59 (Quasi-Elite peak)

---

"Marvelous!"

After scanning the results, Chen Xiaoxiao couldn't help but get giddy with excitement.

Solgaleo, Gardevoir, Sunflora, and Metagross had each climbed a level.

Meowstic and Togekiss had jumped up two whole levels.

Even Lapras who had been lagging surged three levels, a pace that made it feel like it had evolved on rocket fuel.

As for Latias, her experience bar had already been near the threshold this battle tipped her into the next stage, pushing her closer to the cusp of level 80.

Her system points had soared too leaping from around 20,000 to over 40,000, a clean doubling in one night.

"Yep, if you want to farm points, hunt elite trainers. No comparison with a month of grinding wild battles."

But her joy turned to frustration as she glanced at Latias' move set.

"Even with all these points, Latias only knows basic self-learned skills."

She rubbed her temple. This was going to be expensive.

Latias had major type weaknesses Bug, Ice, Dragon, Dark, and Fairy. Without a diverse movepool, she was a sitting duck.

"To cover all those, I'll need at least a dozen TMs…"

That meant burning through tens of thousands of points just to fill in skill gaps.

"Ugh. Whatever. When I get to the capital, I'll check the local battle market. Their TM prices are cheaper than the system's exchange rate."

"Thunderbolt" alone cost nearly ten million system credits ridiculous.

She sighed and checked the time.

"Agh! It's almost 4 AM."

Without delay, she dove under the covers and entered sleep mode.

Lack of sleep was a woman's natural enemy.

---

Early the next morning...

Her Pokédex chimed noisily.

"Stupid early alarm!"

She squinted at the caller ID.

Leng Hao.

Six o'clock in the morning.

She had only gone to bed at 4. Just two hours of sleep!

She slapped the screen and picked up.

"Hey! Uncle Ritian! Why the hell are you calling so early?!"

---

"...Time's tight, Xiaoxiao," Leng Hao said, brushing off her complaints. "We only got two hours of shut-eye ourselves. The special plane departs at 7 AM, and boarding starts at Xiongao Airport in an hour. You need to head there ASAP."

Though she screamed at him, Leng Hao understood well enough that arguing with a half-asleep girl was a losing battle. He cut straight to business.

"Why this early?! Can't I fly in later? Like… after lunch? Or I just teleport myself?"

She still struggled against the weight of consciousness.

Leng Hao's tone remained calm but firm.

"It's urgent. We need to arrive in the capital as soon as possible. You're included in this."

---

"Tch… Fine!"

She slammed the call shut and slumped onto the bed, her face full of sleepy resentment.

Still, she snapped into gear changing clothes, washing up, packing essentials, and checking out of the villa.

The time was already 6:30.

Because her mission clearance was still active, she retained temporary air authority for direct routes.

After checking out, she pulled out her Pokédex, opened the Regional Flight Map, and verified a route that would avoid civilian aircraft.

Outside the villa gates, she threw her Poké Ball skyward.

"Togekiss, let's go!"

In a flash of light, Togekiss soared into the early morning sky.

Chen Xiaoxiao leaped gracefully onto its back.

With the capital on the horizon, she flew off in the direction of Xiongao Airport, the wind tangling in her still-damp hair.
