Chapter 13

Lindsay's eyes narrowed. "Dominic, how did you know my room?"

Dominic chuckled, his expression sheepish. "I, uh, guessed?"

Lindsay raised an eyebrow, skeptical.

Dominic's expression softened, and he leaned against the doorframe, looking at her quietly. "Why are you so beautiful?" he whispered.

Lindsay's cheeks flushed, and she looked away, unsure how to respond.

"Do me a favor, Lindsay," Dominic said calmly. "Stay away from Elijah."

Lindsay's eyes snapped back to his. "Why should I? First, you avoid me for days, disappear, and now you want me to stay away from a friend? Why?"

"He's not your friend," Dominic said instantly, his voice firm.

He walked towards her, holding her waist and placing his other hand on her face. "Lindsay, please, just one favor – stay away from Elijah. And I'm sorry for being absent; I was busy."

Lindsay was shocked, unable to speak. Why was he explaining himself to her? It wasn't like there was anything between them.

Compelled by his charm, Lindsay nodded silently.

Dominic leaned back and smiled. "I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow, kitty. Be a good girl and stay away from Elijah."

He walked out of the room, leaving Lindsay blushing like a tomato.

As the door closed, Lindsay's thoughts swirled. What just happened? Why did Dominic care who she talked to? And why did she agree to stay away from Elijah?

Just then, her phone buzzed. It was Emily, her friend.

"Hey, girl! What's up?" Emily ask
