**[Serafall Leviathan]**

Serafall was not a happy camper—no sir, she was not. She was a busy person normally, but she had been extra busy for the past few days that she didn't even have time to spy on her adorable So-tan—all thanks to a certain sage and her own damn race.

You see, being a Satan of Foreign Affairs meant she had to be the one that negotiated with other factions when a devil fucked up—which they did a lot—but that wasn't the issue.

The issue here was that she had started to hate her job ever since the new sage rose to power…

Many may not know this, but being a sage was a big deal not for the status or prestige the title brings but because being one granted them a watered-down form of authority over nature that made killing them a very hard thing to do.

If you can't kill them in one blow, then they just keep coming back stronger. That, coupled with the fact that sages are protected by nature and different pantheons like the Chinese, Japanese, and even the Hindu, made trying to kill him a very bad idea…

Anyway, that wasn't what caused her problem though. The cause of her headaches was always her own kin: the devils. It all started a few years ago when the Naberius Clan 'tried' to experiment on Yokai completely ignoring the existence of the sage and his influence.

They forgot that the moment the world celebrated the birth of a new sage meant the rise of all those attuned to nature—especially the Yokai—which in turn meant most of the Yokai living in the Underworld started migrating back to Earth…

This caused the Naberius Clan to make the mistake of accelerating their experiments to create their so-called "super devils" and kidnapping Yokai children from Earth.

So when that Nekoshou girl—what was her name again? Ah, right, Kuroka—killed her king, took her sister and the rest of the surviving children, and teleported directly to Kyoto… that was when it all started going down hell for her.

She was the most annoyed by this because she was the one that had to remind the world and Underworld why she was named Satan Leviathan—undoing years of work she had put into her image of the adorable and approachable magical girl Lavia-tan…

'Sigh!! I should really meet this sage and give him a piece of my mind,' she thought as she stood up from her desk and went out of the office, heading towards the new Lucifer Castle they had built after the civil war for her meeting with the rest of the Satans.

Teleporting directly to the castle's entrance, she started walking in, not bothering to greet anyone like she usually did. She arrived at the meeting room—a huge room with a big, ancient-looking wooden table in the middle and chairs that looked like thrones. She sat in her chair in silence, waiting for the rest of her fellow Satans to arrive…

'They arrived quicker than anticipated; it seems the news about her foul mood reached them quickly,' she thought with grim satisfaction.

"Sera-chan, how are you doing?" Sirzechs said cheerfully as soon as he entered the room, trying to set the tone of the atmosphere…

'Heh, let's see how long you're gonna last,' she thought sarcastically.

"Serafall," Ajuka greeted her with a nod.

"Hello, Serafall…zzz," Falbium greeted as he sat down, put his head down, and started sleeping.

"So, Sera, how about you inform us about the reason for our meeting?" Sirzechs started the meeting now that they had greeted each other.

"It's about a new policy I want you to pass: no devil is allowed to reincarnate anyone outside of our own low-class for the foreseeable future—especially Yokai—otherwise they lose their Evil Pieces," she dropped the bomb like it was nothing.

"Wha… what happened? Why would we need to pass a policy like this? And why now of all times?" Sirzechs asked, clearly bewildered. Ajuka, on the other hand, appeared outwardly unaffected, though she knew he was already calculating and deducing what happened. Even the sleeping Falbium stirred awake.

"Because as of three hours ago, the Yokai sent me an official message stating that any devil caught trying to reincarnate a Yokai will be killed on the spot—after they failed to catch the heir of the Leraje Pillar House who was trying to do just that. After some investigation, I discovered that the Yokai have just managed to get the full support of the Shinto pantheon after they succeded in uniting most of the Yokai forces in Japan," Serafall revealed the reason for her most recent headache.

"Uh… umm… this is bad…" was all Sirzechs could manage to say before a "thud"—the sound of Falbium hitting his head on the table—interrupted his eloquent speech…

"Ugh~ What's your take on this, Ajuka?" Falbium asked as he turned his still-laying head towards Ajuka after releasing a groan of annoyance.

"Hmm, I can see where Serafall is coming from, but doing this will cause tension in our society which the Old Devil Faction could and would exploit…

Not doing anything will most assuredly lead to war, so we need to come up with a plan that at least manages to avoid the worst of both worlds," Ajuka said in a measured tone.

"That's not going to be easy, and a war is out of the question—especially when the Yokai are united and stronger than ever," Serafall helpfully added while laughing inside. Now they could all be miserable together.

"True. Now that the corruption of the natural energy is below 45%, the strength of all those who use Senjutsu has multiplied because they can utilize it easier and last longer without going berserk…" Ajuka informed them, reminding her about something.

"Oh, right! I forgot to inform you all that the sage is currently in the U.S., and I am pretty sure Sairaorg is in contact with him—even though he denied it when I asked him. I don't know why he thought no one would notice though. He totally forgot to factor in the ever-increasing purity of the natural energy concentration around his territory when he lied to me didn't he? " she cheerfully informed them, returning to her usual mood now that she had succeeded in making her friends' lives a little bit harder.

"Oh, now you're cheerful, huh?" Sirzechs sarcastically remarked. He'd totally caught her red-handed.

'*As expected of my best friend No. 1,*' she thought.

"Yeah, now I don't have to be the only one dealing with this bullshit. I totally should have let Grayfia win our duel back then…" she said smugly, not forgetting to whine a little at the end, which earned her nothing but an eye roll from the rest.

'Yeah, like she had a chance,' she thought. Even though the Underworld remembered the duel being a close call, in actuality, it was anything but. They seemed to conveniently forget the fact that she was actually the strongest among the four satans when it came to physique…

Not that she was weak magically—no, she was at the very peak of Satan-class—but she was a physical fighter. Not that many of the younger generations know that.

They still think Falbium has the strongest physique because of his defense, totally disregarding the fact that his defense was an ability he developed thanks to his mutated clan trait…

"…What do you think, Sera?" She managed to catch Sirzechs ask. *I totally spaced out…*

"Ah, can you repeat what you said? I wasn't paying attention. Tehe~" she tried to act cute, but by the deadpan expressions of her friends, they didn't buy it…

"Sigh, I said we will…."

The meeting after that dragged on for a few hours where they came up with a rudimentary plan on how to handle things—which would hopefully allow her to have time to resume her So-tan watching exercises…

Meanwhile, in Kyoto, a completely different meeting was taking place. It was one of the first official meetings of the new Council of Yokai, which was held in Yasaka's palace in Kyoto.

"…So we all agree that we will cease our search for the sage for now and continue training and plastering our ranks, right?" Yasaka asked tiredly. These geezers were going to bring her to an early grave with their indecisiveness…

"Sigh~ Yeah, at this point, that's all we can do," an old Kappa elder agreed with a tired sigh…

"We still need to send at least one or two of our best sensors to the U.S. just to check the recent news about the increase in pure natural energy concentration," an elderly monkey Yokai reminded her, making Yasaka resist the urge to roll her eyes.

They were clearly trying to find the sage first, hoping to curry favor with him—completely ignoring the possibility that their behavior might backfire. Especially since they were all operating under the assumption that he was a Yokai. Don't get her wrong; she'd thought the same for some time, though she had started to think otherwise as of late…

Sure, the last couple of sages were Yokai, but that didn't mean it had to be one. She had been searching for this elusive sage for more than a decade, and no such Yokai was ever found…

Now she was starting to think that he or she might be human—no matter how unlikely that possibility seemed…

'*Sigh~ this meeting is giving me a headache,*' she thought as she listened to the old Yokai arguing about who they should send…
