Chapter 55 – Sick Gods and Dangerous Words

"Why not just say what you want to say and let me go back to where I came from?"

I sighed inwardly, muttering in my thoughts, Just get to the point already, you divine bastard...

But the moment that thought passed through my mind, I instantly regretted it.

I was still standing in the God Realm, right in front of the Wolf God himself.

A small wolf appeared beside him, a pure white creature that looked like an ordinary wolf at first glance, but the feeling it gave off was anything but normal. It radiated divine energy, something primal and sacred.

And of course… he heard every single thought I had.

He chuckled, his deep and playful voice echoing through the vast space. "You really are one rude bastard, aren't you? But relax, kid. Let me answer all your questions, and only after that will I tell you why I summoned you here."

His tone was casual, even amused, like he actually enjoyed how blunt and rebellious I was being.

"First of all," he said, "I'm not going to kill you. There's a simple reason for that. I can't interfere with mortals, or anyone from the mortal realm."

He paused, then added, "Your soul might be standing here in front of me, but the real you is still in the Trial Ground, crouched beside the Guardian Wolf, holding that little cub in your arms."

He looked at me like it was obvious, then continued, "And for the same reason, none of the other gods can touch you either. Just like me, they're bound by the rules of the world we live in. The mortal realm has its own laws. Even though we are gods, we can't descend whenever we want. Doing so drains a massive amount of our divine power."

He narrowed his eyes as he spoke, his voice lowering slightly.

"That's why the other gods can't harm you. And that's why they came to me, asking questions. You might not fully understand just how big this is, what you've done. Capturing a territory that belongs to one of the Human Domain Gods? That's no small thing."

"If I tried to explain the entire meaning of that to you… it would probably take a million years just to get through the basics."

He looked at me seriously now. "So, for now, just know this. What you're doing down in the mortal world, taking over cities, bringing them under your control—that's like a parasite infecting an apple, from the perspective of the gods."

"And that's why the Human Domain Gods are demanding answers. Because I was the one who gave you that power."

Hearing all this, I asked carefully, "So does that mean… I'm like an insect to the Human Domain Gods?"

The Wolf God nodded with no hesitation. "Yes. You are an insect in front of the Human Domain Gods."

I blinked, trying to absorb that. "Hmm. Okay, I understand… So, should I stop capturing cities? Should I back off now?"

I was still trying to make sense of everything. I wasn't even level 100 yet. And here I was, discussing the politics of gods and domains like I belonged on some kind of divine war council.

The Wolf God leaned back and suddenly burst into loud laughter.

"No, no, no! You got it all wrong, kid! You do whatever the hell you want. If you want to capture more territories, do it. If you want to kill all mortals, go ahead. I don't care."

Hearing that, I let out a sigh of relief.

"Then… why did you summon me here?" I asked. "And what did you mean when you said I'm a god too? That part confused me."

He cleared his throat in an exaggerated, theatrical way.

"Cough, cough, ahem… Before I answer that," he said with a mischievous glint in his eye, "can you do me a favor?"

I squinted suspiciously. He was clearly up to something.

"Okay," I said warily. "Tell me."

The Wolf God grinned.

"Tell me… what do you think about the Human Domain and the gods that rule it? And don't lie. I want the honest truth."

I rubbed my chin thoughtfully, pretending like I was some wise old master from a Chinese novel, complete with a long invisible beard.

Then I looked him dead in the eyes and said, "I don't really know what you expect me to say, Wolf God. But honestly, I don't care what the Human Domain Gods think of me. And I don't care what I think of them either. I'm just a mortal. Why would they even bother with someone like me?"

I let out a breath.

"So I captured one of their territories, and now they're crying to you about it… but seriously, I think they're just miserable and pitiful."

The Wolf God tilted his head slightly. "Oh? What do you mean by miserable?"

I took a deep breath, then began speaking from the heart.

"Well… You summoned me here because the Human Domain Gods are whining about me taking over a single city. A single damn city. But I know their domain is huge.......way bigger than anything I can imagine. And yet they're making a fuss over one little speck of land?"

I scoffed.

"It's like their egos got bruised. These so-called gods are offended over something so insignificant, and just to soothe their pride, they come running to you. All because you gave me the power in the first place."

I shook my head.

"But seriously, man, what the hell is wrong with them? If they're so mad, why don't they just descend and kill me themselves? Why make this into some cosmic drama?"

I paused, then added with a sharp edge to my voice.

"In my opinion, they're just a bunch of mentally unstable gods. They should probably get themselves checked by a doctor or something. Whatever's wrong with them… it might be contagious. And if it is, maybe their entire domain has already caught it. That would explain why they're so damn powerless against me. It's like they've all got some kind of divine brain rot."

I didn't stop there. I kept going, letting it all out.

But suddenly… I felt it.

A chilling sensation crawling up my spine.

An instinctive fear took hold of me, primal and paralyzing. I froze.

The air around me thickened. A heavy, oppressive pressure pushed down on my shoulders. My breath shortened.

Then, a white light began to wrap around me. a divine aura.

And strangely… familiar.

My body stiffened as a strange energy clothed me entirely in glowing white. I looked around.....then I saw them.

Eyes.

Countless, endless eyes.

They opened all around me in the white space. Some were red. Some blue. Some violet. Some held every color at once.

All of them were staring directly at me.

With hatred.

With fury.

With divine wrath.

My heart pounded violently. I couldn't move.

Then I heard it—the loudest laugh I had ever heard in my life.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

It was the Wolf God.

He laughed so hard that the entire Realm seemed to shake.

"HOLY SHIT, KID! You are one fucking piece of work!"

He doubled over, holding his stomach. His laughter echoed through the entire dimension.

"Do you have any idea what you just did?"

He wiped a tear from his eye.

"You just made the entire Human Domain your enemy! You called them mentally retarded...to their faces! ahahahahahhahahah Ahhahahahahaha hahahhahahahah"

He threw his head back, cackling.

"That… That has got to be the most hilariously thing I've ever heard!"

He bent down in mock respect, giving me a dramatic, joking bow.

"This bow… is for the legendary mortal who dared to tell all the Human Gods that they need to see a doctor because they are mentally retarded"

He laughed even harder, howling like a maniac.

"This is epic! This is legendary! This is… this is the stuff of legend!"

I stood there, soaked in cold sweat, frozen like a statue.

I had just insulted all the Human Domain Gods in the worst possible way.

I'd basically declared myself their sworn enemy.

Not that we were friends before…

But now?

Now I had definitely crossed the line.
