Chapter twenty nine

The doctor checked Maria's condition after Isabelle had called him to tell him Maria was finally awake.

Maria's eyes were already open as she was sitting on the bed, she hasn't said anything though, as she only looked straight ahead while the doctor checked her.

"Is she okay?" Isabelle asked after a while.

"Yes, everything seems normal, I will ask doctor Wesley to come check her" the doctor replied before walking out.

"Maria, are you okay?" Isabelle asked holding her hand.

"Maria looked at the connection and blinked.

"You are?" Maria asked confused and Isabelle jaw dropped.

"You don't remember me!?" Isabelle asked.

"No, I don't remember anything at all, my name is Maria?" Maria asked and Isabelle's eyes widened.

"Wait here, I will get the doctor" Isabelle said rushing out of the ward and Maria blinked in puzzlement.

Isabelle came back with Wesley.

"She doesn't remember a thing, check what's wrong with her" Isabelle rushed her words.

Wesley eyes widened before he went close to Maria to examine her.

"Everything seems to be okay with her, well she was in a coma for a year so it's possible she lost her memory but I don't think it would take much time before she remembers everything" Wesley said and Isabelle breathed.

"In a coma for a year? What happened to me?" Maria asked and Isabelle sighed.

"You don't have to worry about that, just focus on getting better" Wesley smiled at her.

Fernando walked into the Ward with flowers and when he saw Maria already awake the flower in his hand dropped to the ground as his eyes widened.

"Sis, you're awake!" Fernando exclaimed as he ran towards her hugging her tightly.

"You're suffocating me" Maria complained and Isabelle pulled him away before he puts her in another coma.

"I'm so glad, it's been a year!" Fernando said excitedly

"And who are you?" Maria asked and Fernando blinked.

He turned to Isabelle who sighed.

"Memory loss" Isabelle said simply and Fernando face fell.

"You really don't remember me? I'm your younger brother, Fernando Vicente" Fernando said and Maria blinked.

"Don't worry, she would regain her memories soon, for now we just have to help her get bit by bit" Wesley said and glanced at Maria, he sighed before leaving.

Isn't this his best chance to make her fall for him, Sebastian hadn't come to visit throughout the time she had been in the hospital, he was the one taking care of her.

He would never allow Sebastian go anywhere close to Maria again.

"We are best friends and I have been waiting for you to wake up so you can be my maid of honor, my boyfriend proposed" Isabelle said excitedly and Maria nodded smiling awkwardly.

"You need to see what I have achieved, I am one of the top business men in Spain, you'll feel proud of having a smart and handsome brother like me" Fernando said with pride and Isabelle scoffed.

Maria was just looking at them, she didn't know what to do, she's is so annoyed she can't remember anything at all.

She can't wait to get her memory back cause she really wants to understand what they are saying.

"Don't worry, you will regain back everything little by little, but first you'll help me with my wedding preparations" Isabelle said happily.

"She just woke up and you want to stress her?" Fernando frowned.

"I'm not stressing her!" Isabelle yelled and Maria chuckled.

UNKNOWN LOCATION, NEXT DAY

"Are you sure no one followed you?" Gabriel asked as Bianca sat on the couch with a tired expression.

"Of course no one followed me, if I wanted Sebastian to find you I would have told Russell" Bianca replied.

"He killed Russell didn't he?" Gabriel asked.

"Yes, unfortunately, what plan do you have, you lost everything and you're broke, you wouldn't be here if not for me" binanca asked.

"I need more time" Gabriel said.

"More time? It's been a year you fuçker, what more time do you need? Even Maria has woken up and you're still asking for more time, you can't hide forever" Bianca complained.

"Maria is awake?" Gabriel asked in shock and Bianca nodded.

"That makes things more easier for me, I have a plan" Gabriel smiled sinisterly.

BEVERLY HILLS

"Aren't you going to see her in the hospital, Isabelle was so excited about it over the phone" Adrian said to Sebastian.

"I didn't see her when she was in a coma what makes you think, I would want to see her now?" Sebastian asked.

"Because she lost her memory, she definitely won't remember you even if she sees you" Adrian replied.

Sebastian was quiet for a while, it wasn't surprising she lost her memory after waking up and she would definitely regain it.

"It's still a no, as long as she's okay am fine with that, I still need to find Gabriel" Sebastian said after the silence.

"You're impossible, just don't forget about my wedding, you have to be there as the best man" Adrian scoffed.

"It seems you don't really value a peaceful wedding for you to invite me as your best man" Sebastian said and Adrian scoffed

"You think too highly of yourself" Adrian said and Sebastian grinned.

TWO DAYS LATER

BRIDAL SHOP

Maria was sitting on the couch in the well furnished shop with her phone in her hand.

She was discharged yesterday as she couldn't keep sleeping in the bed without doing anything, she has to move around to regain her lost memories

Right now she's in a bridal shop with Isabelle who wants to pick her wedding dress.

Isabelle came out of the changing room with her white wedding dress and there's no doubt about the fact that she looked stunning in the dress.

Maria didn't know when a warm smile played on her lips, she was so happy to see Isabelle her wedding dress.

"You look extremely beautiful" Maria exclaimed as she walked up to Isabelle and Isabelle smiled.

"I know, do you think he would love it?" Isabelle asked.

"Who?" Maria asked instead.

"Adrian, my groom and once your psychiatrist" Isabelle informed.

"Ohhhh, why did I need a psychiatrist?" Maria asked.

"We would talk about that another time" Isabelle shrugged and Maria bit her lips.

She would be needing more information if she wants to regain her memories.

"Do you think I should wear a veil or not?" Isabelle asked.

"If you were putting on a princess dress then a veil would be good but with a straight and curvy dress, I don't think it's okay" Maria said honestly and Isabelle nodded in agreement.

"Alright, no veil then" Isabelle said and Maria smiled.

"I would go change out of this and I would take you somewhere" Isabelle said and Maria nodded.

GUN CLUB

"Why are we here?" Maria Asked as Isabelle led her inside.

"Shooting help relieves stress, I know you're a very stressed with the whole loss of memory thing so this would help" Isabelle said and she immediately bit her tongue for lying.

She just wanted to know if Maria was still triggered by gunshot, cause even at the party the day she was shot, she didn't fret with all the shooting.

"I don't think I know how to shoot a gun" Maria said plainly.

"Don't worry, watching others shoot can help too" Isabelle said as they got to the shooting range.

Loud gun shots were heard as they walked through the number of people shooting and Maria was just watching.

Isabelle looked at her and a heart leaped for joy, was she really cured of her trauma or was it because she couldn't remember anything. Either way she was glad.

"I don't feel comfortable here, we should just leave" Maria said and Isabelle nodded.

They walked out of the gun club and walked to where Isabelle's car was parked and got in.

"Shit! I forgot my purse in the bridal shop" Isabelle said and Maria blinked.

"How are you just noticing?" Maria asked.

"I have a lot on my mind" Isabelle said driving towards the shop.

The car halt in front of the bridal shop.

"I would be back, wait here" Isabelle said and went into the shop.

Maria sighed as she looked through her phone.

After a while, someone entered the car and Maria breathed out.

"Finally, what took you so..." Before Maria could finish talking she was knocked out and the car roared to life, driving away.

Isabelle came out of the shop and there was no car.

Did Maria leave her here? Definitely not.

She called Maria but it went straight to voicemail and Isabelle became frightened.

"Damn it! She just got out of the hospital" Isabelle said and called Adrian quickly.

UNKNOWN LOCATION, 8PM

"Where is she?" Gabriel asked with Bianca behind him.

"In here" the guard said as he led them to Maria who was unconscious, she was still tied though.

"Are you sure this would work?" Bianca asked.

"It has too, Sebastian loves her" Gabriel replied.

"But he didn't seem to care when she was in the hospital, he never visited her" Bianca replied.

"I know he loves her, he would come, send a message to him" Gabriel said and walked out.

Bianca looked at Maria and sighed before leaving too.
