Glas sighed helplessly, "The ammunition for the Black Angel is truly difficult to procure. By the way, the three sets of armor you ordered last time have arrived. Why don't you take the armor first?"
Only then did Xiao Feng recall the recent order he placed with Glas. He nodded in assent. "Very well, hand me the armor first. As for the Black Angel's bullets, I want you to find a way to get them for me immediately..." With that, Xiao Feng extracted a single bullet from the chamber and tossed it to Glas. "I need these exact rounds. If you fail to procure them, you might as well close shop in Godo City."
Glas, perceiving Xiao Feng's resolute tone, could only grumble, "I'll do my best. I know better than to offend your X Mercenary Corps."
"Heh, from tonight onward, it's no longer just the X Mercenary Corps," Xiao Feng retorted with a smirk.
Glas, holding the armor crate, paused and asked cautiously, "What exactly do you mean by that?"
Xiao Feng chuckled, "You'll find out soon enough." Without further ado, he tossed the crate onto the jeep and said to Brada, "It's about time. Let's move out."
Brada roared the engine to life and sped toward the Alliance barracks.
Simultaneously, several vehicles converged from various corners of Godo City, racing toward the Alliance military camp. As night fell, an unforeseen battle was poised to erupt.
Suddenly, a truck thundered forward, barreling without hesitation, crashing forcefully against the twin gates of the Alliance camp.
The gates shattered with a deafening crash.
Chaos erupted within the Alliance barracks.
Inside the command room, Pierre was just finishing dressing, planning to visit a tavern for a few drinks, when a soldier shouted urgently, "Captain, something's wrong—look!"
Pierre glanced toward the direction indicated and saw a large truck smashing its way into the camp. Out from behind the truck emerged Lais, wielding a laser cannon unlike any Pierre had seen before. With a single blast, he struck a watchtower...
The tower was obliterated by a searing beam and erupted into flames.
Furious, Pierre cursed, "Damn it! Has Lais gone mad? Sound the alarm! Orders—shoot to kill anyone trespassing!"
"Understood..." came the reply.
Pierre donned his uniform swiftly, hefted a massive heavy machine gun, and stormed out with fierce resolve.
Behind the truck, a jeep surged forward. Xiao Feng, clad in armor, leapt from the vehicle. He refrained from wielding the Black Angel; in this chaotic environment, his black alloy combat knife was far more effective.
Rush, also armored, followed suit. Meanwhile, Brada remained in the jeep, wielding a large megaphone, shouting, "All Alliance soldiers, lay down your arms and surrender—or be mercilessly cut down..." He continued driving, repeating the warning, though his role was limited to this.
The barracks exploded into pandemonium as gunfire erupted. Nearly none of the Alliance soldiers yielded; they all raised their rifles and opened fire on the X Mercenaries.
But none were a match for an eighth-level psychic like Rush.
One by one, the soldiers fell under a merciless slaughter.
Xiao Feng, armored and sprinting at the forefront, wielded his alloy combat knife like a grim reaper's scythe from the depths of hell. Every soldier daring to fire at him was met with a single precise slash—not to their necks, but aimed to sever rifles or incapacitate their hands. One stroke was enough to render them combat-ineffective, forcing a grimace from Xiao Feng beneath his armor.
His new armor was not merely protective; it also amplified his strength.
A single swipe shattered rifles in two, sometimes taking fingers with them.
Behind him, Rush was even more ruthless. Psychic waves pulsed around him, forming dispersing conical blasts.
One soldier after another collapsed.
The two warriors' ferocity crushed the morale of countless troops. Clad in black armor, Xiao Feng and Rush resembled twin specters of death—terrifying, fearsome, and utterly relentless.
Alice remained in the jeep, knowing her presence on the battlefield would be of little aid. Yet witnessing Rush's assault stirred a profound awe within her—the extent of a psychic's offensive capabilities was beyond what she had imagined.
Ivy, in another vehicle, stood on the jeep's rear seat, leaning out. Her weapon, the Blood Demon, sprayed slender bullets unceasingly, felling soldier after soldier.
This surprise assault swiftly tipped the scales in favor of the X Mercenaries.
Yet on the other side, Pierre appeared with a dozen burly men armed with heavy machine guns. Long ammunition belts dragged across the ground. Their expressions were fierce and resolute in the firelight.
Pierre bellowed, "Let them feel our wrath—open fire!"
Simultaneously, the heavy machine guns unleashed torrents of bullets, a cascading waterfall of gunfire bearing down upon the first invading truck.
That truck bore Lais.
Startled, Lais dove into the truck bed to avoid the hail of bullets.
The machine gunfire was devastating; the driver was struck down in a crimson spray, losing control as the truck crashed headlong into a nearby barracks.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Lais leapt to safety, narrowly escaping becoming a human sieve.
Xiao Feng spotted the dozen fierce assailants firing in unison.
He turned to Rush. "Now's our chance to strike. Follow me!"
Rush laughed heartily. "Trash. I can wipe them out with a flick of my hand."
"Don't get ahead of yourself. We don't even know if this armor can withstand heavy machine gun fire."
Rush smirked, "Stick close to me, and watch."
