Shinonono Tabane froze when she heard what Takumi just said.
Emigrate? To another world?
Good grief!
"Sure! Bring my parents and my little sister along. Then I've got no problem with it."
If that was really possible, she'd honestly agree. Though, this guy in front of her had to be joking, right? Could you really bring people across worlds?
Well, she didn't quite believe it.
"OK! Then it's settled. I'll take you out of this world."
With a snap of his fingers, Takumi sealed the deal.
This world didn't really have anything Takumi cared to bring back. IS technology? Not worth his time.
So why not just bring the creator of IS instead?
Tabane blinked at his words.
"You're serious?"
Wasn't he just joking?
"Of course I'm serious. You agreed, so let's go."
With that, Takumi opened a spatial gate and directly pulled her through.
Even though Tabane tried to resist, her body wouldn't respond.
"Wait!! I-I was kidding!!"
Hey, hey, I was just joking!
"But I took it seriously. Don't worry, your whole family will be coming along, together and safe. So just stay in there for now."
With that, Takumi shut the spatial gate.
"Did you just kidnap her?!"
Bronya was dumbfounded at Takumi's move.
Was it really okay to just abduct her like that?
"Of course! Next, we're off to find Shinonono Houki. And maybe stroll around this world a bit."
Tabane: acquired.
Now he just had to collect her little sister and parents.
"Shouldn't we bring more people back? Like, say, other characters from anime?"
Bronya tilted her head at Takumi.
Since we're already here, shouldn't we recruit more people?
This world's scientists weren't half-bad.
Hearing that, Takumi thought for a moment and didn't object.
"Yeah! Let's bring more back. Our side welcomes scientists with open arms."
He agreed, and then took Bronya and Jibril to roam around.
They first picked up Tabane's parents and younger sister and threw them into the same space.
When the family reunited, they were thoroughly confused.
"Sis? Tabane??"
Seeing her here shocked and delighted her family.
But also left them utterly baffled.
What in the world was going on?
Tabane explained everything she knew.
When they found out they'd been kidnapped—into another world, no less—they were speechless.
But thinking carefully, maybe it wasn't that bad?
Over time, Takumi kept tossing more people into the space.
Many of them were fellow scientists Tabane knew.
Seeing these familiar faces, Tabane couldn't help but mutter:
Was he planning to bring every scientist in this world back?
Even her best friend got dragged in later.
Those who were brought in looked around, bewildered.
But after chatting, they all figured it out.
They'd been abducted by people from another world.
And their families were taken along too.
Was this what they called wiping out entire clans?
Wait, not quite that extreme.
Still, pretty close.
Aside from a few friends, most of their known relatives and acquaintances had been scooped up by Takumi.
The vast space was soon filled with people.
After who-knows-how-many hours, the space reopened.
Bronya and Jibril stepped in.
Seeing them, Tabane rushed forward.
"Hey! What are you doing?!"
She sounded quite agitated.
Good grief—they just dumped people into this black box with zero explanation!
What exactly were they trying to do?
"Calm down. We'll be out soon."
Bronya glanced at her and spoke calmly.
Right then, the imaginary space opened again.
Seeing this, Bronya immediately said:
"Let's go. We've arrived at our destination."
With that, she and Jibril walked out first.
The others hurried to follow.
When the crowd stepped out, they found themselves standing in a vast plaza.
Robots flew overhead.
Even spacecraft could be seen sailing through the skies.
And there, standing openly in the distance—was the man they'd all briefly met before.
"Greetings, everyone! Welcome to my world!"
Takumi smiled as he addressed them.
He then directly transmitted basic knowledge about his world into their minds.
"Take a look at what's now in your head. That's your intro to this world."
"You won't be returning. So live well here."
"Whatever you lost by being brought here, I'll make it up to you."
"Next, please receive your terminals."
"Any questions? Just ask the AI. She'll be your life assistant from now on."
"Money, housing, supplies—she'll take care of everything."
Soon after he finished, mechanical beings appeared out of thin air.
They began distributing terminals to the crowd.
Takumi didn't wait for their reactions.
He simply turned and left with Bronya and Jibril.
Back home, Bronya couldn't help but complain.
"That random world teleportation token was so disappointing!!"
"We were just brushed off like that."
She was annoyed.
They had only visited two worlds.
Sure, piloting Gundams was fun.
But the fun ended way too soon.
Even Jibril couldn't help but complain:
"Yeah! That wasn't fun at all!"
"I'd rather stay home and read."
This time, she didn't enjoy herself either.
Wasting an entire day she could've spent reading.
Staying home was better.
Hearing the two grumble, Takumi rolled his eyes.
"There are tons of other worlds out there. You can't control where the random token sends you."
"Just be glad you could even go."
"Otherwise, you'd be drifting in the void, with no idea when you'd find a world."
That thing was both good and bad.
Everyone knew how unreliable random systems were.
So what's there to say?
Being able to travel to another world at all was already amazing.
At the very least, Takumi thought so.
He could collect items—and even people—from everywhere.
