Luke sat on a chair in his study room, with books on history piled up on the table.

Mr. Fool had directed him to learn history, probably to search and find some clues regarding Conformity and Singularity, he assumed.

However, knowing what he needed to do and actually doing were two vastly different things.

History was vaster than probably any subject in the world, even science, and much more difficult to understand if he was being honest with himself.

At least in science, you could take a fact for granted and move on.

History forced you to contemplate and question every action because people were involved in the greatest and most complex part of it.

And wherever people were involved, Luke found himself lacking in grasping those things.

In only a few weeks, Luke realized that he would never be a good history student. Much less needed to be said about being a passable one to work on Mr. Fool's suggestion.

But he had been trying his best, and, with Luke, that was saying something.

Then there was the matter with Apprentice Potion.

Luke had been acting as a diligent student for weeks now, humbly accepting all teachings. To speed up digestion, he had even resumed his training with Sand on weekends. If that wasn't enough, Miss Justice had been teaching him about mysticism as well.

This should have been enough for him to completely digest the Potion.

However, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't cross that last boundary.

It was like having dregs of a cold pie stuck in his throat. All he needed was some warm water to wash it down.

A gentle push was what he required, but neither of his existing teachers, including the System, seemed capable of helping him further down this path.

It had already been over a week since his classmates had visited him for lunch.

Aina had kept the girls entertained, but Rikuya had refused to even show up. Still, it hadn't gone as badly as Luke had been expecting.

The sheer size of the mansion had overwhelmed most of the students, but games and gym kept most of the boys occupied.

Meanwhile, Nyx had found a secluded spot to hypnotize Yuga and plant a cue in his mind, as Miss Justice had put it.

Now, regardless of Nyx's Hypnotizing Quirk running out of time, whenever Yuga received specific instructions from All For One, he would tell Luke first.

Similarly, before letting All For One know anything, he would tell Luke first about it.

Miss Justice had said that this cue was very weak and could be overcome easily.

Still, for the foreseeable future, this seemed to be enough for Luke.

Knock-Knock!

"Come in," Luke said without looking up.

Momo sipped a nicely brewed cup of tea and opened a magazine opposite him. "Never took you for a historian. What's up with that?"

Luke shook his head, smiling. "Just need to figure something out, Momo."

As Momo nodded, taking another sip, Luke put his head down and began reading, and found a notification bombarding his eyes with great alarm.

[

Don't panic!

Keep calm and behave normally!

This is a dream, Luke! Dream!!!

I am sensing… massive spiritual fluctuations. You know what I am talking about. Don't try to talk too much, or you will end up revealing yourself.

]

Just as Miss Justice stopped communicating with Luke, he finally realized that he neither remembered arriving at the study room nor did he remember why Momo was there.

Luke just wanted to kick himself awake at this moment, a primal chill running down his spine.

What this thing was, had purposely taken Momo's appearance to get things out of him, and it only disgusted him further.

But, against Miss Justice's wishes to remain quiet, Luke saw an opportunity in this disaster as well. Weeks of crawling progress had made him bolder, it seemed.

"You… are not interested in history?" Luke found himself asking, still looking down.

He was afraid of looking up and finding not Momo, but a supermassive black hole glaring right back at him, turning him into a monster on the spot.

He didn't even know if Cogitation would work in this dream, preventing him from losing control.

Luke gulped, feeling the sheer breadth of the risk he was taking at this moment.

"History bores me," Momo said, smiling.

Luke nodded, refusing to let it go. "You know what they say?"

"What?"

"If a subject bores you," Luke replied, "then either it means it is truly boring or… you just know too much of it to have an interest in it anymore…"

Momo was going to take another sip when her hand paused.

Luke's heart gave out on the spot, but he used all his will to just smile at her in return.

Momo continued to drink her tea, closed the magazine, and leaned over on the table. "So, Mr. Historian, what are you trying to figure out?"

Miss Justice sighed in relief in his mind.

Luke leaned back on his chair and looked at all the books lined on the bookshelf, diverting his thoughts to bring out the real questions puzzling him.

"Quirks…" he said dreamily, "… It puzzles me, truly. Nothing happens spontaneously without an external factor. But that's exactly what describes the appearance of Quirks. No matter how much you research about them, there have been no scientists who have come close to explaining this, no?

"Sure, there have been theories that explain Quirks' existence, like evolution. But, human evolution is a slow process, while Quirks are progressing way faster… It doesn't make any sense.

"The only thing that would make sense if there have been cases of Quirks before… forgotten or unrecorded or… ignored."

Momo observed Luke with quiet fascination.

"What exactly are you trying to find in the pages of history?" she asked. "A flying man or a glowing baby?"

Luke smiled wryly at the obvious jest.

But before he could say something, Momo continued. "Extraordinary phenomenon can take many shapes, Luke, have you ever wondered?

"Unpredictable and worldwide wars… The thought of creating atomic bombs… An artisan so skilled that he paints, innovates, and sculpts… A maiden giving birth to a child…

"Some claim a mountain and rule it like a God, having power over thunder… Some gain three heads and six arms… Some begin calling themselves heavenly descendants… And some boast from them originated the universe…"

Slowly, as if thunderstruck, Luke matched Momo's ancient stare.

"A Quirk is not necessarily an extraordinary ability, Luke," Momo told him. "It is will, faith, prayer, sacrifice, wish, and desire… If you are looking for traces of it in history, then you will find it everywhere.

"But you must ask yourself a question first — to what extent are you willing to pursue the truth?"

Smiling, Momo got up and ruffled Luke's hair. "Sorry for giving you a lecture."

"If that was a lecture," Luke said, guided by the Seer within him, "then I humbly accept it."

Momo raised her brows but kept going, and walked out of the study room with a smile on her face, the door behind her banging loudly.

With a jolt, Luke sat up on his bed, his blue eyes glowing bluer than ever.

"What?!" Nyx cawed suddenly as she fell over from her sleeping position — Luke's chest. "What happened?!"

"I…" Luke said, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, "… I digested my potion."
