“You shall command… Legacy.”
Charon thought he would grow up to be a hero, a savior, a shining light for all humans across the galaxy.
But humanity is at war.
Beset on all sides, their empire is standing only through the combined forces of technology and magic. Massive mechs were constructed, the fabled Colossus Machines, designed to defend the galaxy. The Mages were rallied, bringing forth elemental destruction.
Yet it wasn't enough.
Planets fell, their people enslaved to the enemies of mankind. Even the Colossus Machines, strong as they were, could not keep up.
Charon was one of the orphans caught in the war effort, surviving through determination and courage, earning him the gaze of the God of Death.
Gifted with a great and terrible power, the reviled element Soul, the dead around him suddenly become gateways into a realm thought lost to time. Through it, he can chain undead beasts to himself, forcing them to serve in his legions.
He is sent into the River Acheron, the realm of the strongest undead, and is made to fight for his release. During this time, he attempts to uncover secret histories and advance his powers to master the undead.
With these powers, he learns something new about magic and technology: He can fuse souls into the Colossus Machines, allowing the power of Death to run through their cores. They become warped, twisted machines of vengeance that earn malevolent abilities.
They become strong enough to win a war.
Magic and machine are mixed to create something more, something darker. An army fit for a master of magic, a general of legions, a conqueror of the stars...
An Archon of Death.
**WARNING**
The story has a lot of nuance and subplots. If you like complex world-building and lore, you'll love this.
He gets his power around chapter 5 or 6, and it then develops from there.

Author Review This is a book that I have been planning for a long time. It will have huge world-building, lore, and a cast of characters with their own unique personalities. If you like good books, stick around; this one will be worth your time. The Pros: - Worldbuilding: Tons of it. - English: It is my first language, and I am very good at keeping the story easy to understand. - Magic: Tons of magic based around elemental categorization. The MC wields soul magic, a mix of necromancy and summoning. It'll be cool. - Tech: A large part of the story revolves around massive mechs known as the Colossus Machines, and how Charons powers can interact with them, converting them into twisted variants! - Progression: The MC doesn't start OP, and will earn his way up. You'll see him eclipse those around him, but the people at the top are there for a reason. Charon will earn his place, not be given it. - Romance: Who doesn't love a romantic subplot? - Mixed Morals: Is Charon a hero? A villain? Or somewhere in the middle? There can be arguments for all of these, but at the end of the day, he will leave behind a legacy. Cons: - No Harem: He will have 1 girl. That's it. - Complexity: The plot isn't hard to digest, but as the chapters go on, there will be a lot to consider. I do enjoy deep storytelling and impactful moments, so prepare to think a little as you are reading, and even after you're done. - Horror, kind of: The MC will be summoning ancient and powerful souls. These creatures won't always be normal. Some may be ancient knights, or vampires, or zombies, but a few may be eldritch beasts beyond comprehension. Expect SOME horror vibes every now and then If all of this sounds fine, please come and enjoy a great story that will last for years!

Nice, it's been a while since I have been hooked on the first chapter itself. The writing style has a smooth flow, which is perfect to read. I hope this continues.
I'm five chapters deep into the novel. Some character details were well-detailed which I love. However, the setting of the novel was where my problem was. Although I wanted to see more of the setting in the second chapter, little was said about it which I feel kinda sad. Now unto the power system, I felt a little bit confused as to the power system I had to re-read the chapter again to get the basis of the power system which got me hooked. I will encourage the author to give at least if not full detail, minor details of the power system. Lastly, the grammar was well done however, some sentences need some rephrasing to make it more understandable. Overall I truly love the entire novel and will continue reading to expand my knowledge on the novel.
I got hooked in the first serval paragraph I'm not a fan to scifi stories but this one has something making me want to continue reading i couldn't finish it before stating that this story has not just fantasy scifi themes but the power to make you hooked
Very pleased with the imagery, so far, the novel is very immersive and feels as if you are feeling what is happening in the story. I like the progression of the novel right now and really like the MC so far! Overall good novel, definitely recommend. It does the sci-fi genre huge justice.
I didn't read the synopsis so chapter 1 was a bit foreign to me when I saw words like galaxy, space.... then I also saw "God of death", then Elves. It like you're blending sci-fi with myth, and to me.... you're doing well so far. Well, I haven't fully read it lol. To me... I feel like he most important thing a writer should have is an acceptable writing style that doesn't change. We can't all use the same thing, each story should have it unique style that's gonna bring out the essence of the story, and so far.... I think you're doing great with that
The prose and writing is chefs kiss! The characters give a lot of information in a way that establishes their personality. Has lots of world building info right of the bat too, but not overwhelming, rather it leaves you asking for more. Overall made me immersed while reading!
Interesting premise and settings. Having gods and their related concept as part of the power system is intriguing. The exposition is also not forced. Worth a read~
I liked it a lot, it has a really cool concept and the mc seems fun, the plot is paced well, the writing is immersive. This is a really good story!!
