I stood frozen, my mind struggling to process the word that hung in the air between us.

The stunning blonde woman—Isolde—brushed past Kaelen with the confidence of someone who belonged here. Her perfume, something expensive and floral, filled the space as she walked in, her designer heels clicking against the hardwood floor.

"You must be Seraphina," she said, extending a manicured hand toward me. "I've heard so much about you."
