Chapter 90 - The Alpha's Unraveling and a Lover's Bargain

The sound of glass shattering echoed through the mansion like a gunshot. I stood frozen in the doorway, watching in horror as Kaelen's fist connected with the antique mirror, sending gleaming shards across the marble floor.

Blood dripped from his knuckles, but he didn't seem to notice. His eyes—those beautiful, terrifying eyes—were wild, unfocused. I'd never seen him like this before. Not even close.

Isolde cowered in the corner, her designer blouse speckled with blood from where glass had caught her arm and cheek. The cuts weren't deep, but her face was pale with shock and fear.

"K-Kaelen," she stammered, her voice barely audible. "Please calm down."

Big mistake.

Kaelen whirled toward her, his bloodied hand clenching into a fist again. "Calm down?" he snarled. "You want me to calm down when my entire empire is crumbling because of that bastard Marius?"
