The judge's gavel struck with finality.

"Court will reconvene tomorrow morning at nine. Dismissed."

The unexpected adjournment sent a ripple of murmurs through the courtroom. I sat frozen in my seat, watching as Gloria's legal team huddled around her. The interruption had come just as victory seemed within my grasp.

My attorney leaned toward me. "Don't worry. This changes nothing."
