## Hazel's POV
The fluorescent lights of the police station buzzed overhead as I finished giving my statement. My throat felt raw from recounting every detail of Gloria's attack. Sebastian sat beside me, his presence both comforting and overwhelming.
"So Ms. Everett approached you with a concealed container of sulfuric acid," the officer confirmed, looking up from his notes.
I nodded. "Yes. If Sebastian's sister hadn't knocked it away..."
The thought made my stomach clench. I would have been permanently disfigured—or worse.
"Mr. Sinclair, your statement matches Ms. Shaw's," another officer said. "We have multiple witnesses and security footage backing this up."
Sebastian's expression remained impassive. "I want assault charges pressed to the fullest extent of the law."
The door opened, and a man in an expensive suit entered. I recognized him as the Everetts' family attorney.
"My clients would like to discuss a settlement," he announced, not bothering with pleasantries.
