Lao Duan, standing by a separate riverbank with his followers, hurled stones into the water....his rage rippling with each splash.
His heart and mind obsessed over one thing alone:
Provoking Yu Sui.
So that the world would know.....he was a cursed soul, carrying a dark omen.
And eliminating Mo Yan.
For deep inside, Lao Duan knew the truth: Mo Yan was the real king.
If he could destroy him, he could rise and claim the throne himself.
But what no one knew.....not even Yu Sui or Mo Yan themselves....was that Queen Guzuie had already performed a ritual before Lin Chaoyuan had even arrived.
Without their knowledge, the queen had bound them with a sacred spiritual thread..
A thread so divine, it could silence even the fiercest curse in a heartbeat.
This was no ordinary spell.
It was a blessing gifted to Queen Guzuie by the Goddess of Love herself.....a divine promise that she would serve her kingdom with unmatched devotion, and that her heart would hold only love for all who lived under her protection.
But the love in Mo Yan's heart
That had been sealed only for Yu Sui.
Queen Guzuie had poured her entire spiritual energy, her vast ancient knowledge, and even her soul into protecting the two of them for all their lives.
And in doing so, she became immortalized in that sacred bond of love.
That was the only reason that day....mwhen the spirits had unleashed their wrath upon the realm.....Mo Yan and the queen were spared.
Her divine energy had shielded them both.
As for Lin Chaoyuan, he had saved himself by invoking forbidden black magic.
Even today, Mo Yan and Yu Sui could understand each other without saying a word.
Simply standing close to one another was like exchanging the secrets of countless lifetimes.
Perhaps that was why they feared losing each other more than anything else.

Meanwhile, back by the riverbank…
Another heated argument broke out between Su Nian and Duie.....over the same fish.
Su Nian, pursing his lips in annoyance:
"I saw that fish first."
Duie, boiling with anger:
"No, I saw it first! Go get your eyes checked, you arrogant peacock!"
Once again.....chaos.
Everyone shouted at them to calm down, to step back, but the argument only escalated.
Finally, Mo Yan had to step in.
He drew his sword and stood between them.
The entire group had already witnessed his prowess before....no one dared utter a single word once Mo Yan was in the center.
And just like that, the argument fizzled out.
Everyone gathered the fish they had caught and resumed their journey toward Butterfly Mountain.
Duie now walked ahead beside Yu Sui, giggling and chatting.
Mo Yan led the group from the front, silent but steady.
No one knew where Lao Duan and his group had vanished to.
But Mo Yan didn't care.
After all.....everything that mattered to him was right there, walking just ahead, teasing and smiling as if the world were made only for them.
