Inside the cafeteria, the table was filled with pressure from the gaze of the other students. Charles was handsome, while Amiya was beautiful and a Princess which is quite high according to the students.
While Arliette with his disguise, he didn't even have a ranking for being handsome; he's just there existing. Which is a positive notion for him, now the main problem.
Arliette is being greeted by the Princess, Amiya is looking at him with suspicion, while Arliette on the other hand was just thinking about his disguise and being stalked by her.
"Name's Amiya Argent." She offered her hand for a handshake, while sitting across the table.
"I.. uh… same to you." Arliette did the same, but for another reason. He didn't want to be discovered by her. From time to time, he could feel the surrounding area dampened, as if it's tampering the mana surrounding him.
Arliette feels nervous from the outside, since he's acting for the sake of his identity not being exposed. Amiya on the other hand shook hands with each other.
"Come on Amiya! Don't scare him like that! He's my new friend!" Charles defended Arliette.
"Alright! Alright! I'm not even threatening him, or even doing anything." Amiya released him, and she continued to observe Arliette.
Charles on the other hand was innocent, as he pouted while managing his own food, he didn't order any high calories of food, rather they were plain and healthy for the body.
"Hey Charles, what's your relationship with the Princess?"
"Ah, I didn't mention that to you but she's my childhood friend!" He proudly presented, while clinging to her like best friends.
"Come on Charles! We're not children anymore!" Amiya blushed.
"Oh come on! We are still friends, of course I still remember when we were a child when you-"
Charles was halted, and Amiya was covering his mouth with her arms to prevent him from exposing her embarrassing childhood.
"Do not bring that up!" Amiya shouted, causing quite a bit of a commotion.
"Those two look so good together." Said by the group of men that are together whispering.
While the other girls were jealous of their relationship. Despite the two having a close relationship, they are best friends and don't harbor any deeper relationship. The best way to describe them is a platonic relationship, as Amiya treats Charles like a little brother to her.
While Arliette watches the two of them banter, he remembers his past. He wasn't sure if he could continue this, but he quickly removed those thoughts and continued his own agenda.
If he wants to pursue more knowledge, then he must relinquish his past for the time being and focus on the present.
"You two look good together, so are you guys dating?" Arliette said with a smug on his face.
"Hell no!" Amiya shouted, while embarrassed.
"Yeah! We're just best friends!" Charles added.
The two continue to bicker, as the time goes by, he starts to know the two of them more.
Suddenly, he could feel a bloodlust. A bloodlust that was enraged, unrefined, and it could burst at any moment. It was powerful to the point it mixed with the Mana that is in the air. It was high, and he couldn't help but be curious.
He closed his eyes, and the entire Acadia academy was engulfed by multiple structures, from his thoughts he made the entire layout of the Academy, and from what he was seeing. He could see 5 Mana, and they were inside a bathroom that there was no surveillance to capture them.
'A bullying scenario?' He pondered, he could see the Mana getting darker, and darker it was a complete void with a mixture of red.
'It's getting stronger, now I must witness this.' He stood up, and Charles looked at him.
"Is there something wrong?"
"I'm just gonna go to the toilet." He answered embarrassingly, to dodge them for the time being.
He went towards the location, and he saw the bathroom. There are barely any people that are walking into the hallway which was perfect, and not only that. The bathroom was covered with a soundproof magic which he could easily bypass.
Such a powerful Mana, it's dark and fiery.
"You bitch! Hahaha! You're pathetic! Just look at you, despite your looks you're absolutely trash!" Said by one of the bullies.
"Drown her! She's not worth it!"
"P-Please don't!"
Without a single thought, they were aggressive as the 4 bullies began to fill up the sink, the victim fought back relentlessly, but due to the bullies having a Magic enhancement she stood no chance whatsoever.
She struggled while mustering all of her strength. The bullies were annoyed by her actions until finally, the bully grabs her head and smashes it repeatedly into the ground, as the cracks form. She was bleeding internally, and from the shock it was enough to kill her on the spot.
'...' He was silent.
"Bitch! You deserve that!"
"Wait boss! Is she still alive?"
"We don't know any Healing magic, if she's still alive."
"Of course she is! Wake up bitch." She tried to feel her pulse but nothing. She was indeed dead.
"S-She's dead! Fuck!"
"Let's run, boss!"
The thugs left her body on the ground, she was indeed dead. Her pulse wasn't moving anymore, and her heartbeat had completely stopped. Her lifeless body was discarded in the bathroom without any care.
She was kind, she didn't do anything but the others were jealous of her grades and her looks. That was enough of a reason for them to bully her.
She couldn't help but wonder why she deserves this. She couldn't help, until her fleeting moment had already disappeared.
The one who killed her was merciless, they don't deserve to live. They weren't humans, they were monsters. They look like humans, and act like one, but their souls and manners are a monster of no remorse.
Arliette on the other hand, he was mostly watching.
He was watching how they beat her up to pulp.
He didn't budge, like he lost his emotion.
He only watches, like a spectator.
He was curious.
A curiosity of Magic, and Knowledge that's what he pursues.
He acknowledges a Magician for the sake of goodness.
What if his thirst for knowledge would outweigh his morality at this moment.
He abandoned that morality, for one single human life. But he just smiled like the devil.
Because that human wasn't dead.
"I almost got fooled, I thought she died but to think I would see a literal wandering soul."
"Perhaps, a wandering soul of a powerful mage. Time magic, regression magic? What a wonderful theory, now let us see her resurrection upon time."
Arlette's eyes had changed, they were a golden magic circle. Watching two souls that are exactly the same merging together. He could feel the power of time, and space slowly overlapping together and stitching the souls to merge. It was majestic, and quite frankly he enjoyed how much theory he could do with it.
Until finally, the dead had come back to life. Her eyes opened, it wasn't timid anymore, rather it was filled with hatred and revenge, her black hair was fixed in an instant. Her wounds had regenerated, she was able to absorb some of her original power.
Her blazer uniform was tattered, her broken arms had returned back to normal. "I'm back, and I'm alive…" She looked at the mirror, and saw herself.
"I can't believe the magic work, and I'm back to myself, from 10 years from now." She clenched the counter, and broke it with just her physical strength alone.
"Hehe…haha! I will have my revenge!" She shouted in ecstasy, unknown to her Arliette was currently observing her.
"Wonderful!" He said, while clapping from the other side.
"To think I would see regression magic right in front of me." He couldn't help but feel excited.
"So her name is Kurowa Kuroki, and she's a first year student from Class-B 102, fascinating development." He muttered.
Kurowa then turns the faucet on, and cleans her face using the water. Her dark red eyes were charming, she was indeed beautiful, but now she regressed back, she will fulfill her revenge, but first she needs to get stronger, and take down the so called thugs that made her school life like trash.
"I feel like shit right now." She then walks out from the bathroom, wanting to escape away from the eyes of the thugs, until her eyes are met by a chubby male student, with freckles on his face while wearing an eyeglass.
'Who?!' She couldn't help but feel threatened, instantly she stood back and what she saw was a man. She quickly used her own magic eyes that she developed, by using her right eye she could read the mana of the person.
What she saw absolutely devoured her in an instant. "W-what the hell are you!?" She shouted in fear.
'Who is he!? How come a person like him exists! How can he wield such a turbulent amount of Magic!? Is he even a human!? How come I didn't even know he existed!?' This was her first time regressing, but to think she would encounter such a monster.
'Is this how I die!? I haven't done anything yet! Dammit!' She kept screaming in fear inside her mind, she wanted to run but she couldn't.
While Arliette stood there, and couldn't help but be surprised. "You… you can bypass my interference magic. That's quite an interesting right Eye you have." He smiled.
'How did he know!?'
"You're probably wondering how did I know? No I'm not reading your mind, I can just tell by your own expression. To answer your question, it's simple, honestly I can read the sudden shift of moment when it comes to Mana itself, your right eye is a fascinating magic that you created. By this theory, you created multiple sequences of magic to form in your right eye which have multiple properties that could bypass my defenses, and not only that. I could see some traces of Magic disruption, which could severe the flow between the user and the magic, which either weaken them or make them completely disappear. How amazing, why I didn't think of that but no matter, I have mine which is already better."
"Of course, I'm not going to harm you instead how about making a contract with me instead, Ms. Regressor." He revealed her secret in an instant.
"That's impossible!" She couldn't help but feel fear, he was able to deduce that she was a regressor.
"Nothing is impossible…" Until the bell finally rang.
"Hmm… oh well it's time for me to go." (*´ω`*)
"Eh?" She was confused by his statement. (ꏿ﹏ꏿ;)
"If you want to continue our conversation, then let us meet up after school ends. See ya, later Kurowa Kuroki." He smiled, and disappeared in front of her.
"Oh right!" He appeared right in front of her.
"Gah!" She jumped in fear.
"Sorry, anyway Names Arliette Flavius and see you later, and you know where to find me. Just use your right eye." He disappeared once more.
"..."
"I think I'm gonna need some rest…" (• ▽ •;)
