'So that's also possible… but it'll be extremely challenging for me if I have to learn Life Power and also master the technique for fully merging with an Undead,' Oliver thought after hearing his teacher's explanation.
At that moment, Evelyn finally stood up.
"Follow me," she said.
Oliver quickly followed behind her, while Lisa remained behind the sofa.
Their destination was a staircase that led underground.
It opened into a long, dark corridor. Oliver couldn't see the bottom, and he felt it would be impolite to use Void Sense inside his teacher's house—especially when she had been so kind to him.
He continued following behind her as she descended the stairs.
The lights on the ceiling turned on one by one as Evelyn passed, but each one was dim and orange—like old-fashioned bulbs.
As he descended, Oliver couldn't help but glance left and right.
He saw many paintings hanging on the walls, seemingly made from animal hides.
They depicted various monsters, ghosts, and strange, unknown creatures.
It seemed they were Evelyn's personal collection.
After stepping down who-knew-how-many steps, Oliver saw a massive black steel door.
It stood at least eight meters tall, and the chamber it sealed seemed to lie nearly a hundred meters underground.
Rumble!
The door opened by itself, revealing another staircase leading into a large underground chamber.
It was about half the size of a football field.
But other than that—it was empty. Oliver didn't see anything.
"This is my cultivation room," Evelyn said suddenly.
"This big?" Oliver blurted out in disbelief.
"Not just big. The walls of this entire basement are a thousand times stronger than normal walls. All the materials were brought from the Chaotic World," Evelyn replied.
"If I cultivated in your house, even the slightest leak of my power could destroy your home and several others nearby. What do you think would happen if there was a major leak?" the woman added with a smile.
Oliver instantly understood—the basement was clearly designed to prevent collateral damage from any power leakage during cultivation.
When he stepped inside, he could immediately feel the Spiritual Energy was far denser—like it had been gathered and stored ahead of time.
He could even sense something unique within the energy, something he couldn't comprehend.
"Sit down like you're meditating," Evelyn ordered.
Without hesitation, Oliver sat down.
Then, he saw something appear in Evelyn's hand. It looked like a fruit, though he couldn't tell what kind. It was reddish, almost like it was formed from condensed light.
This must be the item Evelyn would use to help him advance his Will Realm.
There were many types of resources like this—some were known to be painful, others worked so smoothly you wouldn't feel anything as your Will Realm advanced.
The difference lay in their price.
Oliver didn't know which kind this red fruit was.
Would Evelyn give him something painful or a high-quality resource with no side effects?
If it was the latter, he'd absolutely adore his teacher.
"Prepare yourself. I'm going to send it straight into your head," Evelyn said.
Oliver nodded and closed his eyes. It seemed this fruit wasn't meant to be eaten through the mouth.
Moments after closing his eyes, he felt as if water was falling gently on his head—not wet, but with a soft touch.
He felt it inside his head, as though water was flowing through his brain.
So far, there was no pain.
His eyelids twitched on their own, nearly opening but not quite.
Even if he wanted to, he didn't think he could open his eyes now.
It felt as though his veins and muscles were being controlled by something other than himself.
Still, it didn't bother him—because there was no pain.
But then, he began to sense a shift—like something was trying to expand his mind.
(Will: Spiritual Master | 999/1000 Will Energy!) +323
In a flash, his Will Energy hit the cap—only one more point was needed.
It seemed the fruit contained the purest Will Energy, merging directly into his body with no processing required.
However, Will Energy alone wasn't enough to push his Will Realm forward.
That final push—the expansion of the mind—had to come from willpower, built up over time.
Some resources could speed this process up.
They were easier to find, but mostly for progressing from Spiritual Master to Earth Master.
Still, even those resources didn't work without meeting certain prerequisites. The one Oliver was using now, for instance, could only be used by someone who had already gathered over 600 Will Energy.
Someone with only 100 or 200 Will Energy couldn't break through their Will Realm with any resource at all.
Oliver enjoyed the process since he hadn't felt any pain yet.
It seemed his teacher had truly given him a high-quality item.
Which, of course, made sense. With her status, it would be disgraceful to give something low-tier.
(Will: Spiritual Master | 1000/1000 Will Energy!) +1
Suddenly, his Will Energy increased again.
At that moment, he felt something tear inside his head.
But it wasn't painful—in fact, it felt… pleasurable. Like when oil is poured down a sore leg and then massaged from top to bottom.
It made him feel completely relaxed—a kind of sensation he had never experienced before.
It might be comparable to the peak of pleasure during sex, but this was happening in his mind, not his lower body.
Slowly, Oliver began to feel his thinking speed increase dramatically. What would normally take a minute to think through could now happen in a single second.
Then he saw the change in his stats.
(Will: Earth Master | 0/10,000 Will Energy!)
It had changed—not Spiritual Master anymore, but Earth Master.
Though it was called "Will," it was essentially one's mind. But ultimately, it all came down to Willpower—and the stronger one's Will, the stronger the mind became.
At higher realms, Will would go beyond mere thought.
It was said that with Will alone, one could command the laws of the world, and slay the weak without using any power—just a thought.
Oliver opened his eyes and immediately saw Evelyn standing in front of him, staring.
The woman's hair fluttered in the wind that came from his progress.
It was a very strong wind, possibly the result of the release of Will Energy that had successfully helped advance his Will.
After succeeding, all the Will Energy was released from his body, and he had to collect it again in ten times the amount.
Somehow, the world felt different after his Will advanced.
He couldn't quite explain it. Maybe his enhanced mind just gave him a broader understanding of everything around him.
"Master, thank you!" Oliver quickly stood up and cupped his fists respectfully.
He felt truly pampered by her. He didn't think any teacher helped their student with this much effort—like Evelyn had just done for him.
