Ordo of Life

"Go back upstairs," said Evylin in response.

She turned around and exited the cultivation room.

Oliver followed her up the stairs, and they arrived back upstairs shortly after.

"Sit."

Once there, Evylin pointed to the sofa opposite the one she was sitting on.

When Oliver sat down, Evylin took out a thin green book with a cover depicting a fallen leaf.

"This is called the Ordo of Life, one of the scriptures for cultivating the power of life—currently the best of its kind. However, like most scriptures, it's incomplete. It only contains ten percent of its full content. If you rely solely on this, you can only reach the Tenth Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm," Evylin explained as she handed the book to Oliver.

He accepted it and began flipping through it.

Most circulating scriptures were indeed incomplete. The complete ones were typically weak. Even so, most incomplete scriptures usually contained 30 to 50 percent of their contents.

This one only had 10 percent, which was extremely little.

As he opened it, he saw many strange writings and symbols.

Though he couldn't fully understand them, they somehow imprinted themselves directly into his mind, allowing him to recall them clearly.

Whether scripture or cultivation technique, they always contained such strange content, yet were incredibly easy to remember.

Of course, memorizing them meant nothing without understanding them.

Once he finished reading, the data appeared in his stats.

(Scripture:

– Ordo of Life (0/10%))

That it was incomplete was clearly detected by his Observation Ring, which stated how much of the scripture was currently stored in his memory.

Naturally, even comprehending 10% was no easy feat.

"This scripture will grant you an energy reserve ten times your own spiritual energy. But that only applies if you comprehend it up to your current cultivation stage. If you only understand 1%, your energy reserve will be ten times what you had at the First Stage of Spiritual Master, which might only be around two times your current energy," Evylin further explained.

"Can I use it right away to convert my energy into life energy to heal wounds?" Oliver asked in response.

"Yes, that's one of the natural abilities of this scripture. You can even use that life energy on others, like what Lisa did to you," Evylin replied.

Oliver nodded upon hearing that.

"Don't get too excited until you can comprehend it up to your current cultivation level—or at least one stage below. If it's too far below, it's useless. The life energy you produce might not even be able to heal your wounds," Evylin added as Oliver's face started to light up with enthusiasm.

Oliver gave a wry smile—but what she said was true. That was the reality.

"Master, what do you think I should do to understand this scripture?" he asked next, not shy to ask for advice.

He knew everything required a process, but there must be specific ways to train each type of power.

"Why don't you ask Lisa? She's very experienced in this field," Evylin said while glancing at Lisa behind her.

Oliver couldn't help but look at Lisa after hearing that, but the young maid seemed completely emotionless. He wasn't sure she would explain anything.

However, when he looked at her, she suddenly spoke.

"The power of life is the power to overcome calamity. For example, injury is a kind of calamity. When you're wounded, your subconscious mind wishes to recover. That strong motivation to heal is what helps you comprehend the power of life. This is actually the most effective method. But if it's just a minor wound—or a wound you've experienced before—as a cultivator, you may take it lightly, knowing it'll heal easily. What you need is a truly serious injury. Like, if you were to slice off half your neck. That kind of situation, where you believe you might die at any moment, can help you grasp the power of life more quickly—even without talent in this field."

Oliver: "…"

"That really is the best way," said Evylin as Oliver stood in stunned silence.

A while later, Oliver left Evylin's residence with a deeply thoughtful expression.

He walked on foot, realizing that the distance from the mansion to the gate was very far.

Despite the great distance, that massive black wolf had managed to reach him instantly.

From what his teacher told him, it wasn't a Void, Space, or Teleportation technique—but rather because Earth's spatial fabric was too weak for high-level beings.

Their power could tear through space and compress it under pressure. Great distances could be traversed with a mere reach of a hand.

Such things weren't possible in Chaotic World, where space was extremely stable—unless done with actual space-related powers or Void power.

So many things ran through Oliver's mind that he seemed lost in thought the whole way, nearly falling into the ditch several times.

When he arrived at the complex gate, he saw the security guards again, who were surprised to see him leaving.

Of course, they knew what had happened—and what creature had taken him. After all, Evylin might not be well-known outside, but in this complex, she was more than a minor ruler.

The rich and powerful knew her well—her power and her background.

Naturally, the security guards, who sometimes interacted with the residents, knew a lot about Evylin too.

They now suspected that the "teacher" Oliver mentioned was that woman.

Still dazed, Oliver didn't pay much attention to them.

He kept walking.

Eventually, he stopped in front of a Chaotic World Store, a grand shop with a luxurious building and clearly exclusive design.

Everyone entering drove luxury cars and dressed sharply.

The store's name was Path of Power Shop.

Not just anyone could open a business like this—only powerful figures with intimidating reputations among Awakener and Cultivator communities. Without strength, such stores would be robbed. Because of that, only a few shops dared to sell goods from Chaotic World.

Oliver thought about converting all the Monster Cores he had collected into money and buying the items he needed, so he turned toward the shop.
