"I can't believe you got Tristan to invite me to the gala!" I tried to keep the panic from my voice as Camille practically bounced in the driver's seat.
"Wasn't hard at all!" She grinned, signaling for a turn. "He was going to ask you anyway. I just sped things up a bit."
My stomach twisted into knots. A gala. With Julian. And Tristan. And Adrian. All in the same room. I couldn't imagine a more uncomfortable situation if I tried.
"I'm not sure this is a good idea," I said, picking at a loose thread on my jeans. "I don't exactly fit in with that crowd."
Camille dismissed my concerns with a wave. "Nonsense! You're Leo's tutor. You're dating my cousin. You absolutely belong there."
The security vehicle followed close behind us, a constant reminder of how different our worlds were. Beta Hudson and Gamma Liam had been trailing us silently since we left campus.
"Besides," Camille continued, "this is a perfect opportunity for a double date. You and Tristan, me and Julian."
