Chapter 6:

On the way back, I turned into a clothing store and picked out some bold and exaggerated ethnic-style clothes.

While I was putting together the outfit, many people surrounded me in amazement:

"These pieces don't look good at all hanging there alone, but once she put them together, they have an indescribable feel."

I immediately swiped my card to pay, planning to go back dressed this showily and happily.

The salesperson wrapped my old clothes, and once I left the store, I threw them into the trash can.

Goodbye to the days of compromise and grievance.

Just a few steps out of the mall, there was one of the more upscale international business hotels in our area.

I saw Adam Grant and Lily Xavier standing side by side, talking with a foreign client.

They were speaking in English, and Lily Xavier's English was fluent and pleasant. Even though I'd long forgotten everything from school, I could feel the beauty of it.
