A Little Demon

Lying beneath Huang Yang was the big Lu Gong, who had reached the fifth stage in the opening realm. His cultivation already made him one of the strongest in the outer estate. He had begun acting viciously after hanging with Huo Shan.

Seeing this man being beaten by a small boy, caused the surrounding people, who couldn't help themselves from watching, to drop their jaws. Each and everyone was speechless, just how on earth did a young kid become this strong.

If they didn't know better, they would think that another demon had trespassed into the estate. Quite a number of people actually believed this and, therefore, instantly took off, having no thoughts about staying.

The sound generated from the fall of Lu Gong, had also attracted the lazy eyes of Huo Shan, who tried his best not to put his hands on Bing Wei in public. His eyes seemed sleepish until he discovered the fallen body of his lackey laying on the ground.

His pupils shrank as he witnessed how close the sword in the boy's hand, was to Lu Gong's throat. Had Huang Yang moved less than an inch, he would have lost a subordinate.

The brown-haired Bing Wei almost backed up a few steps. Fear was evident in her eyes, yet also another hidden emotion. Luckily it wasn't lust, or she would have been thrown into the dungeon for being a creep.

The two lookouts seemed to have fallen into a nightmare, as if this boy was their own personal hell, making them realize their own personal inferiority. This boy could hardly be more than nine years old. Had they known that Huang Yang was tall for his age and that he had just reached seven years of age, they may have found themselves an easy way out.

Standing not far from where Huang Yang had been before attacking, was little Hao Hai, who honestly didn't know what on earth was going on. But he wasn't hurt, so he was showing a happy smile for now.

In all honesty, Huang Yang was also surprised. Cold sweat ran down his neck, due to him having made some wrong calculations. "Crap I almost killed him!", was the only thing on his mind.

When he made use of the Scorched Steel Sword art, the connection with the metal elements had caused him to enhance his striking speed, far more than usual, thanks to the ridiculously light weight of the Silent Slash sword.

He didn't want to kill Lu Gong. Huang Yang may have killed out of necessity before, but that was a terrible experience for him, which he still felt the marks from. He was far too close in this case, making him realize the poor control of his blade when using the sword technique.

But this was a great time to practice since the others would likely come to play with him a bit more. Especially that leader, who seemed to be stronger than Lu Gong.

Silent flooded the nearby houses of the outer estate, as nobody dared to move. The snow kept on falling, landing on the people below, creating a sense of peace even though a giant had shaken the earth in his fall just a second ago.

Huo Shan was in thought, with a red face showing his anger freely to the watchers. The silence disappeared when a group of guards came running in their red robes, most of them waving their spears.

A wicked smile came to as Huo Shan curled his lips. "Guards, we have a criminal, surround him!", he shouted to the red robes.

"Yes young master Huo Shan!", they shouted out in unison, slowly surrounding Huang Yang and Hao Hai.

Due to the Huang family's rare presence, the guards and servants who were not allowed within the inner estate, saw Huo Shan as their young master, ever since Huo Yu Bo had taken the leading role.

Seeing his loyal slaves doing as he said, Huo Shan's smile only broadened. "Ma Gang, we have some trash on our street, why don't you handle it?", he asked while taking a glance at the thin youth beside him.

"He's a kid Huo Shan, why should I fight him?", Ma Gang questioned with a sigh. Beating and killing a kid was pathetic in his book. Whenever the others picked a target, he would only do the minimum amount of dirty work, and never really hurt a kid.

A burst of laughter was heard from Huo Shan as he took slow steps into the circle of guards, steadily approaching Huang Yang, yet he seemed to keep his distance.

"This is not a kid, but obviously the spawn of a demon, he struck down our brother for no reason, almost killing him... This ruthless being is no human", he said with a booming voice of dominance.

Disgust was apparent in the eyes of the viewers who had seen the whole thing. It was painfully clear who was in the right, and who was in the wrong. It was a disaster for this boy to garner the attention of Huo Shan who stood just beneath his father in power.

"If you do this great deed, you, my dear brother will be allowed to fully see the Ice Cold palm art", Huo Shan said while raised in arms, taking a grand posture, as if praising the sun.

Frustration gripped Ma Gang, as he bit his lower lip, trying to make a decision. His fist violently tightened in rage, before saying, "I won't break my own rules for that mere low-level manual!".

Huo Shan showed an ugly expression, simply bringing more red rage to his face. "Guards! Arrest Ma Gang for allowing a demon to live!", he shouted.

Seeing the guards moving closer to his position, Ma Gang plunged forward through the circle. The guards were honestly not that strong, so he easily got through. His goal was Huo Shan.

The two locked eyes and began driving their qi. Ma Gang was at the sixth stage of the opening realm, while Huo Shan was just one step above him. They both made use of the same martial art, but Huang Yang could see some differences.

From what he had heard after listening to everything, he figured that the Huo Shan guy had a full manual, while Ma Gang hadn't gotten his permission to fully learn it. "But that Gang guy seems to be more skilled in the technique than that boss Shan guy", he mumbled as he looked at the two with intrigued eyes.

The two met in a duel of palms, as the two met each other. Four cold palms clashed, resulting in violent winds spreading out. The cold even affected the guards, who tried to keep up their stone faces. What they truly thought, no one knew.

The two young men stood with bent knees, pushing with all their power, as the surrounding winds intensified. The snow began circling the two, as the yelled out in hopes of digging up hidden strength.

The snow tornado spinning around them rose up into the sky, even killing some birds who were just peacefully minding their own business.

The robes of the two young men fluttered as the fight had turned into a stalemate. Huang Yang saw the grand scene with dull eyes. He was not really that impressed.

This technique really didn't hold much power. It sure looked great thanks to the current season of snow, but the true strength wasn't that serious. This also made Huang Yang think that this manual that they talked about, likely only belonged in the human grade or extremely poor spirit grade, since it gave people, the chance of reaching the awakening realm.

His own Scorched Steel sword art was likely higher spirit tier or maybe even profound tier. But then again he wasn't really sure. The manual hadn't come with a grade, it didn't tell how far a person could advance when mastering it.

"I'm not gonna do your dirty work anymore, not with your disgraceful actions!!", Ma Gang shouted from withing the swirl of snow.

"Then you can take your place in prison, filth!", he shouted as his realm finally showed its superiority.

The clash came to an end as a shockwave sounded out, pushing Ma Gang into the arms of the surrounding guards. Since they hardly had that much power, their backs met the ground with Ma Gang laying on top of them.

His beaten face forced itself to look at Huang Yang, who looked back. "It's not like I could have beaten you anyway", he mumbled with a dry chuckle before losing consciousness.

Huang Yang tilted his head. It appeared someone knew their limits. He diverted his gaze to Huo Shan who was breathing heavily after the fight. His wicked smile had only grown. This was a perfect opportunity for him to take out some competition. It was for most people seen that Ma Gang had more talent than him, but now that didn't matter, as he would stay in prison.

People who saw this felt their hearts grow heavy. Be it old or young, they all hoped for the day when Ma Gang would surpass Huo Shan, as he had a heart.

Huo Shan took a deep breath before turning to look at Huang Yang. "Come here demon, by killing you I will be able to join the inner Huang estate", he said while imagining himself achieving glory among the immortals.

Hearing the words Huang Yang actually laughed. He hadn't laughed so hard in months, resulting in him almost letting a tear fall. "Hahaha, thanks for making my day", he said while trying to regain his composure.

He began feeling grateful for this idiot. It felt good to laugh out loud like that. His smile soon fell to that of a grin. "But you are too weak for me to bother..."
