"Your job is killing others!" Gwen said.

Peter started getting irritated after these words.

"Others?! Who would deal with the criminals in the city, if not me?

"It's the job of police"

"Police?! Where were they when Dr. Otto Octavius killed Oscorp's workers and attacked their storage buildings?! They didn't even manage to find the lair, while it took me only a few days"

"But why didn't you tell the police about that?"

"Because they cannot help against such villains. It would only lead to more deaths in the end. I can only rely on my knowledge and skills. Police officers are weak because they cannot..."

"Because they cannot kill a criminal? Do you really think you're doing a favour to citizens by killing?!" Gwen interrupted him.

"Yes, I believe I'm helping everyone! Everyone wants a peaceful world with no criminals where people won't need to worry about getting robbed on the way home, where parents can let their children go out without thinking about them getting kidnapped, where a child doesn't need to worry about getting bullied in front of a whole school. This is what this world needs to be, but nobody wants to get their hands dirty! I became a superhero to stop all of this and I eventually will!" Peter said.

"I understand that you want to make this world a better place for everyone, but you cannot decide who deserves to live and who doesn't. Violence always leads to more violence."

"I admit that I was wrong in the beginning by killing every criminal. I decided to give most of them a chance to live by sending them to prison. Regarding the most violent and dangerous ones, I will do what they deserve - kill."

"Is this Peter? He changed a lot, seems like he was hiding his true intentions and personality when he was with me and Harry. This is the real version of him... I cannot believe that he turned into a serial killer, with good intentions, but still... he's a killer." Gwen thought.

She even started feeling uncomfortable and scared of Peter. He has never said things like this to her before.

"I know that you probably think that I'm a serial killer rather than a hero. But sometimes this is the only way to a bright future for all of us. Gwen, you're the closest person to me and I hope that you'll understand my views. I know that it's going to affect our relationship, but I thought that you needed to know why I'm doing all of this." Peter added.

"Peter, I think that you're a teenager who got confused about what he really wants. I trust you as well, I won't tell your secret to anyone... but I'm not sure about our relationship anymore..."

"Do you want us to break up?"

"No, I just... I just want to say that this is very dangerous. Imagine if my dad or any other police worker finds our your identity. You'll go to prison and all of your family members and friends will be considered as accomplices. We need to be more careful"

"Good idea" Peter responded calmly.

"How did that happen?"

"What? The superpowers?"

"Yes, tell me how you got them"

"I'm sorry Gwen. I cannot give you a lot of information about my alter ego. I try to keep as much of it in secret in case someone will suspect me, just like you did" he said ironically.

"It's ok. I have another question then. I know that it's very personal as well, but I want to know how you felt when..."

"When I killed a criminal?"

Gwen nodded. She felt embarrassed about asking this question, but she was very interested in Peter's new personality traits.

"It happened almost half a year ago. It was my first day as an actual superhero. I used the radio to listen to the police. One day there was a guy who robbed a shop, so I went there to stop him. I decided to hunt small criminals first to get used to my powers. However, everything went in the opposite direction... It turned out that he killed three innocent people in the shop. When I found and immobilized him I was furious. I had a little talk to him... that criminal just killed citizens who had their own families, maybe even children or grandchildren and that didn't even bother him much. He wasn't thinking about how many people's lives he ruined by doing that. He took killing innocent people as a normal thing to do. This was the last thing he said... I killed him with a strong punch right into his skull. He had a sort of internal bleeding and died a few minutes later. I had mixed feelings about what I did, I couldn't sleep all night and was doubting myself during that period, but I decided to continue. In the end, I realized that what I was doing was right as the crime indexes were the lowest during the last few years. And I felt that I did something..."

"That you did something helpful to the city. I understand why you're doing this Peter, but I will never share the idea of killing a criminal. I think that this is not how justice works. I'm sorry" she said before leaving him.
