Beached from the Ship

Crynn POV

"Wait you didn't answer me!" the woman cried out in anger as I dragged her through the cabin deck. "You'll know about it later," gunshots, numerous gunshots just ahead, what's this part again, I forgot everything about this movie already. This movie will be a very horrible experience. The exit, the exit! Bang! Bang! Gunshots, I evaded the trails and pushed us into another room just two rooms from the exit.

I leaned in and exchanged some shots, Bang! Bang! I never thought that shooting guns in awobbly boat could be so difficult, my feet continued shifting and my hands are shaking, none of the shots hit. This is really miserable, I'm now stuck here, a sitting duck in someone's room. I heard a thud from under the my head. "Crap! M67 Grenade!" I panicked and kicked the grenade to the end of the corridor.

BAM! AHHHH! Wilhelm screams sounded across the corridor, I would not want to be that guy. "Come on, let's move," I motioned my hand to a "move" motion and walked out of the room. "Stay close," I gave the woman a look and she seems to be... fine, mostly fine anyway, a hint of fear combined with a careful look, she's fine, should be fine.

Why are there grenades here, aren't the timeline of the movie supposed to be the early 1900s? We moved close and slow, gunshots vibrating throughout the whole ship. I reached the end of the cabin deck and peeked out, a lot of black keffiyeh wearing Egyptians stood and covered the starboard and the explorers are returning fire from the port.

Are those... Kalashnikovs! Those aren't created until the 1940s! Is the timeline all messed up! Maybe its just my memory failing me. "What year is it again," i gave a short question towards the woman behind me, I really need to ask her name. "What load of codswallop are you on about, its 1774," The woman answered cruelly while still covering behind me afraid of the guns.

(A.N : The Mummy 1999 is set in 1926, but I modified it because I want to make a crossover of some type, you'll see later on.)

Hmm... 1974, sure then that's the year I guess. "Evelyn! Here you are!" someone called out from behind, I turned my head and started to analyze the man, thin, falsely brave, wearing a beige jacket and a small bag clutched on his shoulders. The conclusion is, I don't have any idea on who this man is!

"Ah! Jonathan what's happening here!" the woman now I knew her as Evelyn hugged the man and worriedly asked. As if everything is synchronized, a huge explosion send blasts to the sky from the stern of the ship. "We don't know and we need to get off this ship!" Jonathan, the man ran off to the port and ungracefully jumped into the river.

"Evelyn! Here!," I looked in the direction of the shout, and before I could make out anything, Evelyn pushed me away and sprinted off. "O'Connell!" Right, of course it's gonna be O'Connell, who am I expecting. Multiple more explosions went off, and the fires are raging violently on the now empty starboard side.

"Here we go!" I dashed towards the side rails and jumped down the ship and into the waters, briefcase as a float to stay above water. I turned my head all around to see O'Connell and his 'future wife' swimming up to the river shores. I dog-paddled right up from behind. This is an annoying first entry to this world.

"Ahh! It's Mr. Avter, thought you're dead," not a good choice of words to address my situation, clothes covered in murky water, drowning my sword's sheath and hopefully not my suitcase. "I'm not so easy as to go down pointlessly especially after I paid quite a sum to get me to Hamunaptra." My glary eyes piercing through his skull.

"Easy there, Avter. Let us start anew," he brought his hand forward, shaping as a handshake. "Likewise O'Connell," I shook my dirty hand with his newly wiped one, his eyes twitching when he brought his hand back from the shake. "How about the ship," I turned my head and pointed at the burning ship. "It will only burn, nothing more, nothing less," O'Connell smiled reassuringly and patted my shoulders.

BOOM! Red light bursts out from the ship and flew 15 meters above the ground and another large explosion was heard and the ship was... no more. "Well there goes your prediction," I smiled 'sincerely' and returned the pat on his shoulders, he just stared blankly at the exploding ship.

I sat down on a nearby rock, stretching out my arms and legs. "I believe I've not introduced myself properly, my name's Crynn Avter. I paid O'Connell there some... stuff and I'll be joining all of you on this adventure," I introduced myself in front of everybody, a plump Egyptian, a pretty woman, a thin man and the protagonist.

"Well what did you pay O'Connell to get him to want to bring you in," Evelyn asked nosily, I can't just say gold coins can't I. "You may ask O'Connell over there," I looked at O'Connel and he's currently shouting to someone across the river. "Well! You're on the other side of the river Beni!" O'Connell taunted someone named Beni from the other side of the river.

"Are you done with the shouting yet," I boringly began to stroll around, in movies, they portray nights in the desserts as a freezing night. Such lies, even though I'm drenched with water, I feel no cold, only the still radiating heat one would feel in the dessert. "Yes of course, we're going to wait the rest of them on the other side of the river to come to this side," O'Connell looked pointedly at the expeditionary opposition.

"And why is that," I raised my eyebrow, why would they need to go to this side of the river. "Beni would know that the right path to Hamunaptra is through this side of the river, and they would certainly not like to swim to the other side early in the morning," O'Connell began making hand gestures signifying the directions towards Hamunaptra and it seems to be on this side of the river, straight ahead.

"Sure... And who's this Beni guy," O'Connell seems to have a bad history with this Beni guy, need to find out more. "Beni, he's a traitor and a coward," O'Connell furrowed his brows, temples creasing. The description he gave certainly isn't much, I need history, profile not two character traits. But it could certainly prove useful, traitor means he must not be trusted and coward can convey the actions of fleeing away from comrades in need.

"Well now friends, we just need to wait out for the night, tomorrow is going to be a great adventure," O'Connell addressed everyone and starts opening his bag and cleaning his soaked gear. Tomorrow's going to be an adventure indeed.
