Night Raid

Crynn POV

Hmmm, "Avter..." What's that, probably nothing, "Avter..." So noisy, can't you let a man sleep. "Avter! Wake up!" I heard a high pitched shout on my ear as I jumped up in surprise looking around as I had my hand on the hilt of my sword. "Who's there!" I shouted out in a blur, my vision is as dozy as I've just been and the world is ringing in my ears.

As I regained my sight, I looked around to see nothing and then down to see everyone staring at me as if I'm a clown. "Congratulations Avter, you've just made yourself a joke," that hurt deeply and I felt a bit embarrassed and pissed. "You must have a reason to wake me up!" I glared at everyone, I'm not exactly sure who woke me up though.

"It's 7 in the night, don't you want to eat?" O'Connell looked at me with raised eyebrows as if indicating a 'what are you talking about' look. I then looked up to find that the sun is nowhere and now, it has been replaced with a bright yellow moon, unhindered and very clear. Did I seriously slept for over 12 hours.

I felt my stomach crunch with hunger as I smelled the fragrance of something around me. "Please sit down Avter and enjoy the canned food we cooked for you while you sleep you arse off," I spotted a plate with some ham, cheese, potatoes, some other kinds of meat all piled up nicely on the plastic plate.

I licked my lips as I descended myself downwards and ate to my hearts desire. I normally never eat canned food because of its hazards but we're in the middle of the desert and canned foods have a high preservation. I know mental state can be very affecting on our senses and actions and eating this whole platter of canned food is so delicious.

If its me before I died, I would've viewed this in disdain. I'm a frequent eater of Michelin restaurants and I know that there's nothing that will top them. But in this barren desert, eating some cheap preserved food is already extremely appetizing. Add to the fact that I've slept through lunch and the hot desert environment, this is already the best I taste, besting even the Hyena.

"So, Ferrous, how long can a full man sustain you," After being fully done and full, I turned to Ferrous who is so vigorously drawing something on his hand book. "It depends, draining an adult deer would only sustain one's blood thirst for a day while human blood can hold up to 5 days. This is also caused by the fact that every human has a different component in their blood from animals."

Is that why the Cullens hunted every night, this is all very intriguing, new subjects, new knowledge. "What are you sketching there," I tried to peep at what he's doing as he continued to move fast with his hands and a pencil. "Just my entire journey to this place," I have to admit, this man's an artist, the sketches fully displayed the giant we fought.

Everyone's expression is completely situated as the drawing slowly comes to life. Every micro tick is drawn, leaving no specifics behind. "You're a good artist," I complemented him as he showed a rare proud smile. "Hohoho, I get that a lot but really, a lot of people other than me could draw this good."

Now, I know why he's smiling, he loves being flattered and humble bragging. My image of him is slowly crumbling up. I yawned for a while before I spotted from the corner of my eye, Evelyn creeping onto the fez egyptologist and slowly getting the black book off his sleeping hands. Professional thievess, she snatched such a large object with minimal sound and no movement.

Very surprising, I then saw here getting the hexagonal key and turned on the book lock, opening it as the atmosphere got heavy for only a split second, that book is dangerous. She opened it in eagerness as she read the first line of the book which is utterly gibberish. The winds accelerated as she finished the sentence and I could swear I saw the clouds gather to only separate again.

The fez professor suddenly woke up with bulging red eyes as he shrieked onto Evelyn's direction screaming lines of, 'Why!' 'No!' and 'You will be the doom of us!'. The plot has officially reached midpoint!

Seeing as I've nothing to do, I took the little pearl out to inspect it more closely. It's a smooth as marble and as shiny as any metal. A purple dot is painted or stuck in the middle of the pearl, giving it an eerie feeling.

That's just fantastic, I couldn't get anymore sarcastic than that. I stored the pearl onto my pile of treasures in the corner of the briefcase space as I contemplated on what sort of activities I could do. "An attack! There's an attack!" One of Henderson's lackeys shouted from the top of the wall before getting shot down in mere seconds.

Its been only minutes since I woke up from my beauty sleep and eating the dream life and I immediately got thrown into action. This has got to be a joke! I'm having a massive internal conflict when the whole site was suddenly flooded with Egyptians in black on similarly black horses slashing scimitars left and right.

F*ck it! I got out my gun and started shooting onto the foes as One got shot and fell, another followed. I saw O'Connell charging recklessly into the middle of the battle, shooting everywhere with craze. It seems revenge has come to the enemies. Wiping out an entire battalion where O'Connell's the captain of is sure to hit his ego.

"Everyone! Kill!" One of the black wearers, I'll just call them the blacks for now, shouted with charisma, rallying the whole army against us. I need to take him out, killing the leader also means winning the battle. At least often times that happens. I turned to Ferrous as he turned to me, we both nodded at the same time. It seems that he's planning the same thing.

I ran from the left while he ran from the right. I evaded all smaller battlefields to get the perfect assassination strike as I moved to flank him together with Ferrous. He's got the right because its the most concentrated battle region and vampires have super speed so he could get through the terrain easily. While I took the left side as there's so few battles going on here and its the shortest path to Mr. Charismatic.

I've arrived and shot a bullet straight at his chest and its guaranteed not to miss. SWISH! The man reacted and his scimitar is on the air in a quarter second. The distinctive sound of a bullet being sliced rang in my head as I looked on this man, his eyes staring onto me.

I could only react, "What the f*ck!"
