Capital of Egypt, Cairo

Crynn POV

Yes! We made it, Cairo! The central of Egypt, capital of commerce , city surrounded by ruins, it's truly different. I've never gone anywhere near to the Middle East before, but I've always wanted to go there. The diverse of culture and all the delicacies waiting for me in this lovely area of the world. I'd really love to learn some of the Muslim and local cultures around these parts.

I heard the activities are very fun, enjoyable and relaxing. Sadly and regrettably, I had no time to participate in such events, but sightseeing won't hurt right? "So O'Connell where are we going?" O'Connell is the expert around here, and I'll gladly leave it to him to do everything city related. I normally won't use tour guides on my travels but time is ticking and I need to be quick with everything.

"We are visiting Evelyn's uncle first. Isn't that right Evelyn," O'Connell turned to Evelyn for a final confirmation for which she nodded. "He's actually not my uncle but a friend of my parents," she looks extremely fond of this man, father figure perhaps? "Is your uncle also an egyptologist," I asked for fun and facts as she looked a bit annoyed by the question, I don't know why.

"He's more librarian than egyptologist, burned down the map to Hamunaptra, saying it's unreachable and a tourist myth. I'll finally prove to him that it's true!" She is very excited to prove her uncle wrong, I guess household rivalry do exist everywhere around the world. "Ferrous, how about you, would you like to follow us?"

For the past few days, Ferrous has been nothing but a gentleman, everyone seemed equally warm with him, sharing friendly jokes from the 1910s and exchanging words. He's a pleasant man, and although him being a vampire still disturbed them, they learned to respect him as he respected them.

But I guess Ferrous is already well respected since the moment he killed the giant, but oh well, respect grows in time. "Why not?" Ferrous gave a shrug as everyone nodded, Evelyn seemed to think about introducing Ferrous to her uncle. I need to tell her about Volturi laws before she blurted everything out about Ferrous.

"We aren't going to travel on our camels right?" I mean, there're a lot of cars on the streets and we're on camels so it doesn't make sense for use to ride camels all the way through. "Of course not! We're going by taxi!" O'Connell gasped surprised by what I just said and everyone started looking at me strange.

Come on, it's the 1970s and its Egypt, I don't anything about how you travel in Egypt in the 1970s, don't be too harsh on me, I'm practically clueless. But I do prefer a more modern mode of transport than those wobbly camels. Evelyn ran past and blocked a van on the road, is that even legal, not to mention dangerous.

"Come on! We've got ourselves a ride!" Evelyn yelled waving her hand in the air while the driver looked more than happy to help. Did Evelyn bribe this guy, this looks suspicious. But oh well, I'm also a man whom will gladly take and receive bribes. Such is the nature of this very world, nothing escapes the treacherous hands of sin.

And here i am, past hell and into a little van currently on its way to the National Egyptian Archives. As I looked out the window, buildings pass by, the busy streets, the joy and sad in people's faces, this is truly a mix of emotions and a blend of just about everything. I can't help but silently sigh to what these people will face in just a few days.

"here you are sirs and miss!" The diver jovially said as he kicked all of us out and drove away. Is he just rude or is that the norm here, getting kicked out of a taxi? "Don't worry about that, that's how taxi drivers do things around here," Evelyn stumbled across my conflicted look and she gave a straight answer.

I've still got much to learn about everything here, but first after this is done, I'm getting a hair cut and bathing in the tub for at least 2 hours. Classical music playing from the side, eating grapes on another, imagining it is all so real. I walked into the double doors entrance between the two sphinxes on the side, guarding the place with dedication.

And how delightful, the moment I step in is the moment an angry old man started calling us up. "You! You! You! You! You! Come up into my office right now!" He looked infuriated and pointed at each and every one of us. This is not right is it? I looked towards a fearful Evelyn shrugging in despair, is old uncle so scary?

Apparently, Jonathan too did the same thing, shivering slightly with eyes full of tears waiting to burst. O'Connell looked similarly baffled and ferrous just looked like he usually is. "Follow me," Evelyn said quietly and slowly before ascending the spiral stairs up, which reminds of the headmaster's office which has similar features to this one.

We entered the office with suspense as I looked around. There are a lot of trinkets and artifacts laying everywhere. They're also kept clean and precise, each placement seemed to matter and all miraculous details appearing to light. And there he sat, the big uncle on his very desk. A big globe on the right and a rifle on the left.

Troubling indeed. We sat down on the sofa right in front, waiting for judgement to come. I was definitely not pleased, and that included Ferrous whom looked quite indignant. I guess this situation is quite similar to being grounded by one's parents except, the one being grounded is probably around 500 times your age.

He began with a loud sigh continued by a disturbing huff. And then grabbing a magazine and pulling out a box of rifle ammo. This is not good, is he going to shoot us dead? He's not going to shoot us dead right? Evelyn and Jonathan downright looked like they've just gone through 10 nightmares in a row.

Their eyes looked up as if begging for forgiveness to the heavens and their lips move as if uttering some sort of prayers. The uncle now started to load the magazine with bullets, slowly one by one. This so intense! As I heard the sound of clicking from the rifle refilling, I couldn't help but count my numbered days. I will not let myself be murdered by an old uncle!

A bang to the table so hard it shocked me as I silently looked at the uncle. His eyes glowing red from incandescent. "Do you have any idea of the troubles you've just caused on Hamunaptra!" And there the raging began.
