Calian POV
"Right, who goes first," we stared at each other for the moment and back at the dark sewers. "The gentleman goes first," Jill coughs and stepped aside with her arm open motioning for a go-ahead. I sighed and gripped the SMG against my shoulders as I moved slowly but forward. I went down the 3 stepped stairs and turned with my gun still clearly up.
"Look some windows and a row of windows and a room," I looked into the slightly hazy glass panes, a small glimpse of light could be seen through and well a mixture of colors that I couldn't make out. "Is this fogging inside or outside?" I pressed my hand on the glass and started wiping it left and right.
"So the fogging is inside, do you think you could shoot the glass out Jill," I shifted to see Jill looking curiously on the window and then took her pistol out of her pocket. "I could try," Jill said before downright unleashing shots at the window. "No luck then," I said before setting my eyes back on the window with 3 clear marks of bullets that have been embedded deep within them.
"Bullet proof glass, quite unusual, sewers don't use glass like these. They may use reinforced glass but certainly not bulletproof," Jill traced her fingers over the three shot marks and reinserted her gun back to its holster. "Well, let's move on," we soon approached a corner leading into another corner, white pipes going in and out of them and greyish blue barrels stand by them.
"More stairs, how many more stairs are we going to go through," I groaned as another stairway came to our view, I don't even have to go through this many stairs in John Wick or Kingsman. Jill chuckled as we make our way down and into another part of this whole sewer system. "Let's check that door out," Jill gestured for the door straight to our left.
"Let's get onto it then," We approached the door and found some kind of a electricity insert device by the door directly connected to a lock system. "Let's look at this," Jill tore a piece of paper hung on the wall and skimmed through it briefly and swiftly. "More trouble for us, its the employees have adapted a next-gen locking mechanism and instead of using keys or cards like normal people do, they use battery packs instead, isn't that just infuriating."
Jill crushed the paper and dropped in on the murky water, I've lost count on how many papers Jill threw away, probably three. "There's this ladder though," I pointed upwards to which Jill followed and met her eyes upon the yellow ladder, locked in place by some rails. "You think you could shoot the rails down," I asked and looked at the rails, their small, it's going to be hard to shoot.
"Or... You could boost me up!" Jill cheerily said and patted my shoulders. "Or... I could boost you up, you drive a hard bargain," I walked up right underneath the ladder and knelt down on one feet, my hands cupped together to be the support for Jill's step up. "Up!" Jill shouted and she briskly placed her right feet on the hand as I pushed it up, Jill jumped at the same moment.
"Great teamwork," Jill opinionated and climbed up the small withdrawn ladder and finally landing herself up. "Here you go," she strongly stepped on the rails, breaking it open for the stairs to come racing down in front of me. "Actually, I don't think you should come up, I see in the distance that every single door is wired with the electronic lock and so, we got to find that first."
Jill raised a hand to stop me as she descended down the ladder herself. "Does that mean, we're going down on that... muck!" No no no! I'm not going down! I'm never going to step my foot onto that disgusting sewer water flow! NEVER! EVER! 1 minute later...
So, I've learned that you never say never unless you're lying because right now, I'm standing exactly in this wholesome pile of trash, garbage, junk, whatever you call it. "Oh come on Calian, it's just sewer water, you could always burn your shoes and pants later," oh oh oh Jill, you'll get this time's laugh, and next time I will carve a permanent smile on your beautiful pretty little face!
"You can't really complain can't you, let's not waste anytime," I gritted my teeth in anger as I followed her past the heaps of trash collected up in years. "So, a dilemma here, do we go through the left tunnel or the right," that is truly the trick question, in every form of entertainment over the years, from games, to movies, to comics, and even in novels, scenes where characters have to choice which path to take have always existed.
And today, we learn the hard way in real life or afterlife. "I've a feeling the left tunnel will bring us great benefits," I hope you're right Jill, I hope you're right. SPLASH! Out of nowhere a giant creature crashes downwards onto the water, creating a huge splash and multiple waves in the sewer river. "What in the hell is that!" Jill voiced out before aiming her shotgun and shooting it with full force at the creature.
What came out of the dark was possibly one of the most utterly sick and revoltingly disgusting looking creature. Its body is all white with small patches or red over its entire body. I couldn't see an eye but I could definitely see mutated round protrusions develop around where its eyes should be. Its mouth took over half of its entire body comprising only of a giant head, two large legs on the back and fin-like hands.
But suddenly, it just got a whole lot worse, its mouth opened so wide in four directions. Yes you heard me correct, four directions! Instead of a normal mouth, opening up and down, this 'thing' opened it mouth in a Northwest, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast direction! And oh God! It's entire inner mouth is filled with teeth and a lot of red, even its tongue is filled with sharp pointy teeth and oh the tonsils are just the same!
I did the only thing that felt right in the moment, taking out the Kingsman lighter from my pocket and opened it up towards the 'thing'. As I rolled the flint wheel, fire suddenly flooded the 'thing's' mouth and unable to hold the pain, it shook and screeched loudly as the flames slowly engulfed the whole of its body and slowly burning the skin till nothing is left but just a bloody red blob.
"I'm not even going to ask on what that gadget was, but allow me to ask something else. WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT!" Jill screamed out her immense amount of discontent out, can't I just not hear anymore screeching at all. I've heard Nemesis roar, close to screeching, I've heard spiders screech and my ears slightly got disoriented and now, I've got to here this new monster and Jill screech out loud in the sewers where every bit of noise supposedly echoes!
"Ok Jill, let's calm down for a moment's time," I don't even know what to say anymore, I'm just exhausted. Next mission, I'm relaxing my way through it! Darn you The Gods above!
