Crynn POV
"Go down!" I shouted and Aria moved the reigns downwards, changing the direction of the Thestral! Damn you Grindelwald! Flying under Brooklyn Bridge, do you want all the muggles to spot the chase?! But... now that I thought about it, these carriages should have an anti-muggle charm to be invisible under the eyes of the many no-majs of Manhattan.
One of the 4 guards crashed against the bridge's stone pillar as the other three continued on this hot pursuit! "Be careful!" I screamed as we went down the bridge, we could've hit our heads back there! Aria whipped the reigns and the Thestrals sped up to full max after Grindelwald, his prisoner carriage ain't so fast, huh.
"Go up!" I urged her to follow behind Grindelwald as he began to ascend again to the air in a vertical lift! "Roller coasters have nothing on this," Aria blew out and our carriage ascended to the skies! "Wait a second! Are we heading straight towards the storm!" Aria panicked and pointed towards the storm clouds, filled with gray, and thunder!
"Yes! And aren't there any manuals for this carriage!" I looked down on the front quarter and sure enough, on top of the footrest is a pullable compartment! Opening it, I retrieved a small handbook and began flipping it! "Aha! Is it..." I gazed in the compartment where there are a few levers and buttons!
"So..." I tapped on random button on the right. Deng! Deng! Deng! Deng! Viuuuu! "What are you doing! Turning on Vivaldi's Winter at this moment?!"Aria roared! Oops, wrong button to press, why would there be classical music playing in this carriage?! "This one?" I flicked a small switch and the entire carriage including the Thestrals glowed ectoplasm green.
'What did you do?!" Aria warily looked around and then set her eyes on me. "I honestly don't know," after I said that, I could feel the carriage turning into a phantom, I, Aria and the Thestrals has also turned ghost-like! Zoom! The phantom carriage abruptly increased its momentum, reeling it forward, bringing it directly next to the 3 guards, all of which looked shock in seeing the sudden appearance of the carriage.
"Ok, apparently that's what it does," whooh! Good use. "Please don't touch anything you may not have known about, please," Aria looked pale and heaved a relieved sigh and continued whipping the Thestrals. "Are the lightning behaving rather irregularly or is it just me?" Aria looked towards the gray stormy clouds where thunders galed.
"Certainly irregular," I stared towards the few sudden lightnings all concentrated in our area. And then, I moved my eyes towards the prison carriage where Grindelwald is currently taking the driver's seat and waving his wand around the air, pointing to the skies. The tip of his wand looks as if it's directly connected to the clouds, discharging electricity directly into it!
"It's a spell, Tempest Jinx, it is an atmospheric jinx which causes bolts of lightning to strike from the skies. It's very bad an knowing J. K. Rowling, it's very likely for her to nerf this one as well," how could I forget this part of Grindelwald's escape, I hate lightnings! "Ahhh!" And a guard already bites the dust from the bolts of electricity.
BZZAP! "Ahhh!" BZZAP! "Ahhh!" Right, that's extremely bad. Back to the manual, flipping it with haste, I came across a page that could really help us! "Press the red button for a lightning rod," press a red button for a lightning rod, gotcha! The problem is, which red button exactly!!! There's three different red buttons here!
"The left one?" I pressed it and... nothing happened? "Cry! I don't need a massage!" I looked back to see two gloved hands connected by a floating rope, pressing on Aria's shoulders, seemingly massaging her. "Sorry!" Middle button then! I pressed the left red button once more to remove the massaging gloved hands and decisively pressed the red button in the middle.
I then turned back and finally, a lightning rod drawn out from the back of the carriage! Grindelwald's lightning is now attracted to the lightning rod without any more chance of electrocuting and killing us! "Good job!" Aria exclaimed and whipped the Thestrals stronger earning her a neigh and an acceleration!
"Aria, give me the reigns, use our magic arrows and try to shoot Grindelwald down!" She passed me the reigns and I whipped the Thestrals as she held her bow up and a shining golden arrow appeared on her finger tips beside the bow string, aiming up. "Isn't Grindelwald the black haired, clean shaved guy? I can only see a braggard man with two different eye colors.
You could see Grindelwald's two different eye colors all the way from here! Wow, archers do have hawk-like eyes! "That's precisely Grindelwald, the figure you saw before was him in a disguise, that braggard man is exactly him without a disguise! I peered to find Grindelwald climbing on top of the carriage roof to look down onto the prisoner carriage window.
"Shoot!" Aria released her magic arrow, soaring in speeds towards Grindelwald! Sensing the danger, Grindelwald moved his body to the right, evading the golden arrow which struck the side of the prisoner carriage, bouncing off the carriage shields. Right, the prisoner carriage has its own shields, why didn't I think of that.
Grindelwald retaliated by releasing multiple spells in ranging colors! Dodge! I swerved the Thestrals right and above to avoid the string of spells! Hah! Who's got the high ground now! "STOP RIGHT THERE!!!" A loud warning came from behind us, like a sound amplified by a loud speaker but I know very well whom the voice belongs to., Seraphina Picquery with a Sonorous Charm.
"Madam president! I have only one goal here! And that is to prevent Grindelwald's escape! Forgive me for any offence but your trusted subordinate, Abernathy is a Grindelwald sympathizer and acolyte! MACUSA is apparently crawling with traitors!" I spoke as loudly as possible in the middle of a storm and thunders! I don't have access to the Sonorous Charm so unfortunately, I can't perform the charm!
"PARDON?!" Pardon indeed, though I can't figure if the pardon was because she can't hear what I'm saying or if she can't believe what I'm saying. Either way, today's been a long day.
