Calian POV
{Hard Companion Mission : Resident Evil 3 : Convince Jill Valentine to Follow Thee on Thee's Journey (Accomplished) (Rewards : Hard Reward Box, Lottery Chance, 10000 Mission Merits) }
{Total Rewards : Hard Reward Box, Lottery Chance, 12500 Mission Merits}
There it is, hard reward box and a lottery chance, that's new, the normal missions don't gift lottery chances. "What's this?" Jill exclaimed as she stared at something in particular that may be invisible to me and others, the interface. "That's my mission completion notification, it says what mission I completed and the rewards I get," pretty simple to understand.
"What's with all the 'thees'?" That is also a question in my head. "I don't know, don't ask me about these things, I don't have a clue regarding the higher ups' knacks. I was clearly referring to our sponsoring Olympic Gods up above, probably just sitting around a huge TV screen on Mount Olympus laughing and eating popcorn whilst watching us risk our lives in multiple worlds, sure sound like something the Greek Gods would do.
"So, as a newcomer, why don't I let you open the box?" I've opened two normal boxes already, a hard box shouldn't be anymore better, shouldn't it? Maybe it's rewards are a tier higher but it's only a maybe. "Err... Box? The hard reward box?" Is there any other boxes that you could think of besides that one?"
"Yes that one, you just think of it and a new screen should show up," I have become the temporary teacher to my temporary student, ok teaching a few important steps. "I have two boxes!" Two boxes? Ah right, the newcomer box maybe? Because I do receive it on my first world with a bunch of gold and a violin in which I hadn't had the time to play.
"Just open the both of them, click on their images and press yes or something," I instructed her to do what I did every time, it's an easy process really, think, click, and press. "Oh? I got a few gold and a knife?" Gold? She must've opened the newcomer box first then, gold is a precious commodity but at times it could also be useless but alas, it's more useful than useless.
Jill's hand moved again and a box showed itself out of nowhere in front of her, I guess mission reward boxes are visible then. The box spun and the top opened like a suspenseful gift under the Christmas tree, just waiting to be taken away by a little kid aged 10, ahh the nostalgia of those bright days of getting the Lego Millennium Falcon on a very happy Christmas, I miss it.
The box opened to gleaming lights of purple, ooh, that's pretty. The purple light stopped as the box faded away and what remained were a glowing book, resting on Jill's hand as she raised it up to take a good look at it. Hmm... "How to Hack 101???" I slowly read the title of the book which is unusual so to speak.
It has a picture of some guy's fingers, typing vigorously as keys and symbols escaped the tip of his fingers and into codes with different colors across the entire book cover. Is this seriously a book, don't say it's like one of those skill books in games where you literally just touch it and you'll an entire move, totally unrealistic.
"I can be an expert hacker in a click?!" Jill spoke out loud, argh... such a cheat, why don't I get something like that before, damn protagonist luck. She pressed on something and the book turned into fragments of light particles and fused into her head and presumably her brain. I can't fathom how easily information could just enter the brain, anyone ordinary would've died from information overload, gotta thank the Godly powers.
Jill opened her eyes, brimming with so much computing knowledge it could explode. "This is incredible, I've just learned every hacking technique I can possibly comprehend in my entire life. It also gave me another attribute, I can understand every hackable technology in every different sub-worlds, from space-crafts to 21st century MacBooks I never even knew existed, I have the knowledge to hack it!"
"Is there no limitation then?" there must be some limitation, or else the skill would be way too overpowered, it needs to be nerfed but actually, I prefer it to not have any limitations even if I envied it a lot already as its a skill very useful to our team. "As long as the technology I'm hacking doesn't have too high a firewall or encryptions, I can hack."
That's totally acceptable, I can totally understand why there's that limit. "So, you've just transcended from the realms of a police woman to a hacker, sweet," I exaggerated it a bit, heh. "Well, I'm just that good," Jill swiped her hair back, looking cool and arrogant, tch, show off. I'll teach you by getting a better reward at the lottery.
I strolled and stood in front the big rainbow wheel, hopefully, my first time spinning the wheel of fortune won't in turn grant me misfortune. I slowly approached while Jill has found the invisible boundary and leaned on it, watching me in interest. I just realized, I need new clothes, or at least some brand new, cleaned tuxedo pants and shoes.
A screen showed up asking if I'm sure to spin the wheel, a 100 times over, absolutely yes. And... the wheel spins! It's like seeing an illusion of a long cylindrical passageway made by the combination of colors trying to draw me into it. Hmph, I'm immune to illusions baby, well, maybe not against anime characters but hey, I'm immune to any realistic mentalist illusions.
The wheel at some point, significantly slowed down by like times, it went from speeding up to 300 miles per hour to like, 10 miles per hour and still going down. Ithink I'm hearing bells or is it my excited beating heart, I love gambling, it's not a good habit but I always win anyway, so why not right?
The wheel came to an abrupt stop as purple shone me, ooooohhhh, what's this?
