Card Collected

Crynn POV

"Right let's do this," I muttered to myself as I neared myself into the reflex angle of a corner where I spied outwards to see if any obstacles stood in my path. And sure enough, there were two guys, too busy talking while leaning on the right wall rather than going out to do their jobs, I would lower their pay if I am their boss.

But complaint won't get me anywhere and thus I need a distraction of sorts to get the two men away from this one corridor. What could I possibly use to get over this predicament. Hmm... I think I could figure something out, is that guy having a pen twirled around his fingers? Yes he is! I could use that, yes I could really use that!

It's been days, days since I've gotten any use of my magic abilities and it's time for me to try just how good I am in performing my arts in a world whose magical energy is 95% deficient which means I had to somehow make use of the 5% magic in this world, this will be a horror to try and focus through the magic into my wand.

I summoned my wand and aimed it carefully at the spinning pen on the man's hand, time to do my magic. Concentrate, feel the very poor and inadequate amount of magic in the air. I could somewhat feel it, a bit, I can feel the particles donating each other forces into energy as I felt the magic itself beginning to fill the core of my wand.

And then I shot with a powerful whisper, "Tergeo." Invisible rays of magic made it's way in a blink towards the pencil as it hit and nothing happened? Oh wait, something did happen. Black ink spilled out its cap all over the guy's hand as it surprises the both of them from their conversation as the guy dropped his pen onto the ground in reflex.

"Shit!" And there goes the cursing. "Did you play with your pen so hard, it burst open?!" Instead of doing any help, the man previously conversing with him loudly laughed, creating echoes in the underground. "Oh shut up, this was a newly issued staff pen, I'm gonna get so f*cked by the manager later."

"Wouldn't you like it though, she's totally hot," wow, that's quite crude... Once more, if I was the manager and a dignified woman, I would fire the man in that instant. "Are you kidding me, haven't you heard? She's a dominatrix! And there's no way in hell I'm f*cking a dominatrix!" Can the two of you just go already?!

"Come on, let's get those hands washed up, wouldn't want you staining anything with that ink," finally, his friend is acting like a 'friend' and the two walked away, good, very good. I need to do this fast before the chitty chatty employees come back. I quick stepped several meters forward and is now directly in front of the room I need to be in.

And thankfully, the door is left open which means I can just walk right in without having to bother or worry about opening the door and potentially producing unnecessary noise. I walked in with silenced taps as I surveyed around, looking for the row that is unlocked by Jill. I instantly spotted it, it is the line of lockers right in front of me as all of them have an unlocked symbol on each of their pads.

Now, there are people inside the room, or at least people behind the lockers, talking and laughing, the usual thing you'll see happening in locker room's like this. I just need to traverse as quiet as possible onto the lockers and hushly open one of them. I simply travelled a few more steps as I pulled the locker door closest to where my arm and hand could reach.

Fortunately as do all my fortune accounts for, lockers in the future don't make any metal creaks unlike the annoying gym lockers which just hurts my ears, I hate it. Where is this card I need to find, let's see. Looks like whoever owned this locker is a lazy person, untidy as well judging from how their clothing is simply thrown right in without first folding it neatly.

But the card however is not in plain sight. But if I may reckon, it may be inside the wallet partially tucked under the discarded shirt. I grabbed the wallet swiftly and opened it up. Wow there's a plethora of cards here, all inside the card holders. And which one do I need exactly??? Ehm... You know what, I'd be pretty safe to just get the whole wallet and get out of here and that's what I did.

I took away the wallet belonging to whoever chose that locker, I'll say sorry mentally but not physically because that would just ruin this entire small mission and I don't ruin missions. The trek back to the emergency stairway was a like a walk in the park, accompanied by a small breeze with falling leaves and singing birds, I really want to go take a walk in a park, to reminiscence of the good old days before I died.

Anyway, "I got what you needed," I immediately said the moment I walked into the emergency stairway and closed the doors behind me. I was greeted with the sight of both Jill and V leisurely sitting on the stair steps, talking with each other. Apparently, I interjected and stopped them in the middle of their talk, whatever that talk entails.

"You brought a whole wallet?" V uttered when I pulled out the thick wallet. "There was a lot of cards, I don't know which one we specifically needed," Jill opened the wallet after I handed it to her as she checked over the card holders and drew one of them out. It was a red card with a couple of codes printed on it, that's the extent of the very simple card.

"We have the card we need, now we can go but I'll take the whole wallet as well, who knows what we could use the rest of the cards for," sure then, let's get back.
