Bad Omen Hasn't Come

He had guessed of that earlier but welcoming the thought into the open when Dong-Hyun said it. He nodded at him and muttered a simple thank you.

From ahead of them, the man struggled a few times and ended up lowering his head. Mumbling a few words between his breath.

The Deity hasn't turned around to greet them, so he crouched down in front of the brunette child. His face still showed a hint of terror. Like he was dead with fatigue. And aside from him already dead, the Ghoul child appeared to be dazed, switching his attention at So Eun.

"Are you hurt?" So Eun inquired. His voice is gentle. Dong-Hyun's attention averted to So Eun, and he bent down too. Maintaining an eye level with the kid.

After a few moments, the Ghoul looked as if he snapped out of it. He released his grip on Dong-Hyun's robes, little by little while moving back, So Eun thought he was planning to run away from them. Thus, he gave him a reassuring smile and a wave of hands.

"You are safe now. Nothing could hurt you anymore." He voiced out, that kid only stared at him, expressionless. Dong-Hyun then patted his back that was torn and sprawled with dirt.

"What is your name?" But the boy barely spoke.

"It's alright. What did he do to you?" Dong-Hyun rubbed his behind carefully. A cheerful smile appearing on his face. So Eun just watched them. But in the end, they failed at fishing some answers with the kid, so he stands up and turned around.

It was for a while before So Eun had remembered the people were in the same state as him. He looked around and there he expected quite a lot of villagers cornering them.

Scrutinizing eyes at the two Immortal, or only at the powerful one when So Eun noticed their attention isn't even on him. He sighed in disbelief and strode toward the other Deity who stole his scene.

Dong-Hyun was still making sure the boy wasn't harmed, and So Eun intended to ask something with the Deity, yet while on his tracks. The guy that was arrested, yell out with rage. Glaring at the kid who flinched in his sight.

"He's a demon! He's the one that was lurking every night, devouring an infant's flesh!" He didn't finish shouting when the Deity, clad in the expensive plate, turned around and saw So Eun froze on his spot.

"He's the beggar!"

He's only half a day wandering in this world, and he couldn't believe the number of events that occurred. The very first information he had absorbed was a Ghoul child disguising as a beggar to request food, however, when the sun sets, it was snatching a soul from a newborn.

He thought about it back then, not forgeting this problem and kept it in mind. Preserving it for a long time because he had expected this to arise sooner, but not the same day he only had known of it.

"You." So Eun lifted his head and looked at the Deity. Is he conversing with him?

So Eun chewed on his words and organized his thoughts before speaking in a serious voice. Yet before he, the Deity spoke head first.

"You came from Tipolo Place?" His left eyebrow lifted, spiritual energy engulfing the air which heightened to make him look more intimidating.

"Yes, and I had been aware of this." So Eun replied. Not liking the tone of his voice, even a bit.

"Why aren't you taking part in the ceremony?"

That question again. So Eun sighed in defeat and let his body relax with all these issues. It is complicated and overwhelming. He didn't even ask to be born again.

"I am certain that you know His Majesty isn't in his throne when the time they pushed me down from the skies." If he didn't know, then that's his business. His twin brother had just come to the emergency meeting. Why is he still dawdling here?

At that moment, his sharp and nonchalant face changed, So Eun didn't learn how to describe it but it shows a hint of trepidation. Like he remembers something unpleasant.

"I am. My Apologies, my name is Gim Yeonbin. A Deity from the Yul-li Palace." This time, he bowed and express his status as an immortal, not in how So Eun thought is humiliating him.

He cleared his thoughts and did the same. "I am So Eun, from the Tipolo Palace." Yeonbin gave him a curt nod and turned around again to ask that man.

"We will discuss this later on. Be sure you're providing some evidence which leads to him being the demon child." Yeonbin waved his hands and suddenly, a few servants march behind the startled commoners.

Dong-Hyun stepped aside, swearing in his voice when one of them went straight in his direction. So Eun immediately saw that and thought of shielding in front of him and explain further.

However, they didn't touch Dong-Hyun, the child who was hiding behind him, cried again when the soldier held him in captivity.

Dong-Hyun helplessly looked at that small face before turning to look at So Eun.

"So Eun, isn't that--" Dong-Hyun didn't even finish his sentence when Yeonbin cut him off.

"No worries, he will be confined safely in the Tipolo Palace. And will discuss it further after we're done with that Demon King." Yeonbin uttered. The contempt in his tone was enough for everyone present to pinpoint who he was directing it for.

After the Demon King went into seclusion for a couple of years. The mortal realm was once again awakened with cold sweats dripping.

"Demon King?" So Eun couldn't keep the desperate need to clarify who he is.

"His Majesty has been ordering all forth of Deities from the other Palaces to move and assemble at Yang-ir." He turned and face So Eun, who was in serious turmoil.

"Deity from Tipolo Palace, So Eun. You need to come too."

So Eun's expression changed after that. He was stunned, his thoughts interrupted.

And he doesn't know what to feel about that.
