Chapter 18: Tier 1 Normal Dungeon part IV

Ian with the porter girl job was up.

The porter's job was to collect the crystal cores inside the dead body of the monster. 

Some porters collect the body of the monster to sell to the dealer. While dealers sell it to their business partners to make items to sell for the consumers.

But their current job was not to collect the corpse of the monster but to collect crystals core inside their body.

Dead bodies of monsters and humans vanish after an hour pass so even if they get it back on their way back it will be already gone and carrying the dead bodies of the monster while clearing the dungeon was only a burden. But there is an exception for the Boss Monster since they have a longer period of disappearance.

[First stage Clear]

Hearing the voice coming from an unknown direction, all the party members relaxed.

Their vigilance was a norm, even if they cleared the stage easily a surprise attack can still endanger their life.

If the voice still didn't give a clear sign it signifies that there's still a monster alive, lurking in the surrounding ready to ambush at a given moment.

So hearing the voice they finally relax. They waited for the porters to finish collecting the crystal cores inside the monster while recuperating their bodies. 

The First fight was easy, but it's only at the start because in the higher stage there are more and powerful monsters that are still waiting. So they need to recover their stamina even if it's only a minuscule.

Ian was talking to Lily while searching for the crystal inside the wolf body since he didn't want to locate the crystal all the time.

"Lily, do you know how to find the crystal inside the monster?" he asks. Even though it is shameless to ask her about it, he didn't shy away since Lily happily answered him.

Even a katana's blade from this world can't be compared to this folding knife blade sharpness.

But of course, the knife sharpness can be adjusted like the flame in the stove. The portable knife also has voice recognition that it can receive commands from the user. If the user said 'cut the meat into small pieces' of course the user first needs to put the knife to where the meat is and then the command. Out of the 5 tickets that he used he got two folding knives a color of black and blue. and the rest was for later.

Ian's job becomes easy with a knife. He just needs to command the knife after putting the blade on the body and command 'Create a hole in the stomach' and the knife will do the rest. After the hole was made he can already see a crystal core on the inside.

After 10 minutes of finding crystals from 50 bodies of the wolves, they harvested around 30 crystals since not all bodies have them.

Ian put a hole on the 30 bodies but only got 10 crystals while the girl porter procured 20. Although Ian got more bodies, the porter girl still has more crystals that make him curious why and ask her later.

Although being a porter was not a job he wanted, he didn't have a choice for a moment.

Raiding a dungeon has so many procedures before the guild approves it.

But it didn't apply to the raiders who have no guilds and those who are strong.

Many become solo or formed their teams and didn't join any guild to maximize their profits on the dungeons. And solo ranker only raids lower portals than their ranks since even if they are powerful but soloing a portal that was the same or above their rank with so many monsters in the dungeon without help was a suicide. No sane Gifters does it.

But of course, having a Guild also has its perks. Like price lower for the items they buy around the globe if their guild was famous and have fame, and they also have their repair shop that only the members can use without paying anything. Having a repair shop without cost was already a good deal for the Gifters. 

With how they have to fight every day they also need their weapons to be repaired for further use and with how costly the weapons are, joining a guild was already a boon for them.

Ian just needs to make his former D-rank level up and he can already form a team or solo a dungeon if it's within his ability.

The group started walking to the entrance that leads to the next stage of the dungeon. Ian with the porter girl at the back trying to follow the rest.

Ian, who was curious, got near the porter girl and asked softly.

"Can I ask how you can pinpoint where the crystal core is inside the body?"

The porter girl looks at him for a second before answering in her meager voice.

"Mm. It's because of my ability that can locate the crystal" she responded.

Although her voice was meager that even the buzzing of the mosquito was much audible but with his enhanced hearing thanks to the pills it became easy to hear and understand her. 

Ian also didn't think that she would reply like that, he thought that she would just shake her head and that's all, but he was still happy with her response.

"I see, so it is an ability, that's a strong ability so why are being a porter?" he inquired and hurriedly said "but if you can't tell the reason there's no need to explain since I am merely curious.

The Porter Girl looks at him for a moment, especially his left eye. And responded, " My Ability is also limited like the other low-rank Gifters, I can only determine what I can touch and it only works on the size of monsters."

Ian nodded his head since he was also like that at first. All ability users have their Limiter on their ability, they can only make it stronger by using it daily or consuming elixirs that can make the limiters in the body disappear.

Ian just also heard it from his Big sister when she comforted the previous Ian when he awakened his ability. 

But the cost was astronomical that can make the poor people despair from just looking at the numbers.

And only the rich family can afford the elixir that made them more powerful while the weak become weaker due to their destitute situation.
