Chapter 19: Tier 1 Normal Dungeon part V

Ian just nodded his head since he didn't know what to say. If Lily didn't come to him then he would surely become like her, being a porter until his Ability level up or until he dies. 

Ian, who was lost in thought, suddenly heard the porter girl's voice that made him come back to reality, he looked at the front and saw a circular door that leads to the next floor level. 

*Creeeek*

Balt, the bald leader opened the door effortlessly as if the circular door that has a height of 8 meters tall that's made of an unknown metal was just made of lumber.

Ian becomes curious and also wants to try opening that big door someday, to see if it's easy just like how Balt made it.

Retaining his curiosity he followed the group and passed into the gate. A light veiled their body and is transported to the next stage.

Ian opened his eyes and saw a forest in front of him. He almost forgot that he was inside the portal.

On the first floor, he wasn't surprised because the landscape was also the same as the lower level portal which is dry land. 

Ian immediately asks Lily for information he needs to know about the portals and dungeon so he won't die from excitement every time he witnesses a new thing inside the dungeon.

『hmm~ hmm~ Portal and Dungeon are different masta~.

Portal is a gate, A Gateway that leads inside the Dungeon and other worlds.

Dungeon on the other hand was a place where monsters reside and exist. 

Inside the dungeon was like another world for humans. There are many terrains where monsters reside. There's a barren land, forest terrain, snowy terrain, blazing terrain you name it the dungeon has it.

Having different terrain means that many kinds of monsters reside in those places. Monsters that don't have any intelligence and only rely on their instincts form a group with each other. Some follow an Alpha like the wolves and others follow a stronger fellow within their races.

There are also those with Intelligence that can be found on the Red Portals that only the S rank Gifters can be entered by how dangerous the place is. Monsters with intelligence sometimes have the configurations of a human, they also build settlements just like humans so that they can be mistaken as a human community. If not for the aggressiveness they have towards other races especially humans, bloody fights can be avoidable for sure. But for some reason, if it's the world Law that made monsters and humans can't coexist together.』

Ian nodded his head in understanding. He now knows how complicated the matter Is. But the thing that was on his mind, was the portal that leads to another world. 

A portal leading to an unknown place with many opportunities and dangers ahead. It's a door to another new world so who wouldn't be so interested in it.

"So what about the Portal Leading to another world? Is there a finite location where it's going to lead?" Ian asks. Although the concept was amazing, he was not an idiot who just fired his gun just because someone said that s/he is the killer. 

What if the portal leads to the world of fire? isn't he just going to his tomb just like that? The Universe was infinite, there's no concept of time and end. It's like a world that has no end and beginning. So before he does things, he first makes sure that what he is doing is safe or it's not threatening his life.

So for him, it asks Lily first before proceeding, that's why he asks Lily.

『Where the portal leads were unknown Masta. And about the portal that leads to another world, people call the portal unknown. It has the color of darkness, if not for the octagonal shape, it would look like a dimensional rift. 』

Ian was a little sad since even Lily didn't know where the portal destination. If even Lily who was a little fairy of an omnipotent system where items come from another world didn't know if it's safe or not, then he who was a mortal of course won't wander and try it because of his curiosity. 

He didn't want to die fast when he was just reincarnated. But if in the future he owned a powerful item that can save his life or can kill a powerful foe in one hit from the system, then he won't hesitate to begin his adventure even if it's unknown. But that's all for the future to come.

Ian was about to ask further but look at the forest where he feels stares, not only one but many of them, he also senses the tension on the team. 

Before he knows it they are already in positions with their weapon sheath.

Balt being the tanker was in front with Katherine on his left and Pitt at the right.

Sona who was their support was in the middle being protected by them with the porters.

Lindo was at the rear with his snipper ready to fire.

After waiting for a minute no monster attacked them which baffled Ian. He thought that there was a massacre that was about to begin but the monster in the forest didn't even attack them.

"Let's go. And porters, don't leave Sona side if you want to live." Balt warned.

The group strode forward into the forest. The group moves without breaking their formation while being vigilant looking at their surroundings.

Ian can feel the tension in the air, he knows that this forest was tough from how alert the group moves. He doesn't know what is the monster in the forest but he knows that it's dangerous so he moves along with everyone following behind Sona with the porter girl.

After walking for 30 minutes without encountering a monster, Balt signaled the group and the group stopped on their track and sighed in relief, the porter girl was also very tensed from how silent and serious the atmosphere in the group.

Walking for 30 minutes was not long, but walking for 30 minutes straight with their sense on high alert was very taxing even for a high ranking Gifter.

Lindo who was at the rear put his sniper down and loosen his guard. He was also tense from the atmosphere, he was about to relax but a monster lunged at him and he almost died from it.

Thankfully Katherine was near him, with her speed she reached the shadow that lunged at Lindo and beheaded it before the horn on its head pierced Lindo's head that was just an inch away.

Blood burst out from the monster that Lindo's face was full of.

He didn't have time to complain since he almost died from that sneak attack and more monsters can be perceived in their surroundings.
