Chapter 36: A-rank Gifter

Mia who was watching the entire scene unfold was surprised.

She was not surprised by Ian; she was surprised about the girl's ability. The ability to manipulate energy.

She knows how strong that ability is if trained and wields properly. But looking at the girl, she realized that she didn't fully know how to utilize it.

Ian, who was happy that he finally felt the energy inside his body, looked at Sophia, and was surprised when he saw her pale face.

He didn't know what happened that made her look like that, he was about to ask but he heard Mia's voice.

"She is alright, she is only exhausted from using her ability on you,"

"But she didn't look like that when she used it when we were in the dungeon, she even used it multiple times and she is still fine," Ian questioned.

"Idiot, of course, she won't be that exhausted if she uses her ability on a dead body, but using it on a conscious being that was also stronger than her, was akin to seeking death."

Ian sighs in relief when he hears her and scratches his face from guilt. He didn't think that the consequences were disastrous thankfully he reacts faster or else...

He touches Sophia's body and uses his ability on her. He let her float in mid-air that surprised Mia.

She knows that his ability was [Weight Changer] so how can he make someone float when his ability was about weight. Even if he made her light she won't float like that, she can only glide from the air not float. 

"Hey! What's that ability of yours, I believe you have the weight changer ability so why can make her float like that!?" she hurriedly asked.

"What? Oh, this. It seems my ability has earned the ability to control. At first, my ability can only change weight but after my reawakened, I can now also control the weight I changed so I can make her float." Ian explained.       

"I see, I assumed you lied about your ability, that's why I am surprised. Then put your hand on the crystal and let your energy flow through it for assessment since we have been here for a while. I also have a job you know."

"It's not like you have other visitors besides me," Ian mumbled. If Mia heard it she would freeze him for sure.

Ian neared the Crystals Ball and placed his hand on it. He willed his newly discovered energy on his body to flow on his hand which made the flow natural even if it's his first time.

The dormant crystal suddenly radiated a blinding light that filled the whole white room. 

It's so blinding that made all the people inside closed their eyes unconsciously.

The first one to open his eyes was Ian. He looks at the crystal that has words written on it that write [A-rank: Weight Manipulation].

He looked smug when he saw his rank. It even changes the name of his Ability with a better name than he likes.

He looks at Mia with a smirked etch on his face and said " It seems Ms. Manager will be fired for not having a porter anymore."

Mia ignored his remarks and looked at the words on the crystal. She didn't think the porter she coincidentally meets at that time, who is also the little brother of her best friend, became powerful in a blink of an eye.

'Since they have the same blood it's not weird for her little brother to become also stronger like her' she thought.

"Congratulations on your multiple-level up," she said after her moment of silence.

Ian looked at her like he was seeing someone else, he expected a comeback from her poisonous tongue but it seems he was thinking too much about it.

Although surprised, he still said, "Thank you."

After the Assessment Completed, they come back to Mia's office for Ian's new Identification Card.

Ian waited inside Mia's office for the IDC to be created. Sophia was sleeping on one of the couches since she still didn't wake up from her exhausted state.

Staring at the outside of the headquarters from the transparent glass, he suddenly remembered the body that he needed to sell, so he looked at Mia and asked.

"By the way, where can I sell the intact body of red wolves?"

"If you plan to bring an intact body of a monster using your ability, you can just contact me since it's also my job," she replied while still typing on her hologram for she still needs to update Ian's information.

Ian nodded his head. Although that's not what he wants to ask, he didn't inquire further. He also didn't want to reveal his storage to her so he didn't ask anymore.

After waiting for an hour, he finally received his IDC. Sophia also awakens 40 minutes before he receives it so they are ready to go.

Ian said his goodbye to Mia and directly went to the closest Monster Batcher. Monster Butcher was the name of a distinguished dealer of monster bodies. 

And they are also located near the headquarters so it's their next destination. Ian and Sophia didn't have money for the Hover Car so they flew to the Monster Butcher place.

It's still night time so they were not conspicuous in the sky. 

Sophia was scared at first but getting used to it she calmed down on her own.

After 10 minutes of Flying, they finally arrived where an establishment that has the tenth floor with colored blood can be seen from where they landed.

Just like their establishment name, their designs for their building didn't lose their meaning. It looks scary, especially at night with color red lights flickering inside.

Ian and Sophia didn't immediately enter because they still needed something to put the bodies before they sold it. 

" Do you know where we can get a cart or something?" Ian asked the girl on his side.

"I can rent a monster cart from the shop nearby but.." 

"It's alright even if it's the cheapest monster cart since I can manipulate the weight of the corpses so you don't have to worry about its limits," Ian mentioned. He knows that both of them didn't have that much money, especially him who didn't have any.

So he knows what Sophia implies even without hearing the rest of her sentence.
