Chapter 40: Pills influence

The hoodlum's body was discovered after Ian and Sophia disappeared on the crime scene.

People who saw the states of twenty hoodlums were alarmed. And thought that some lunatic appeared in their city.

They speculated that the lunatic only wanted their victims to suffer without dying when they saw how crippled the body was after seeing their state in the dark alley.

And oblivion to the chaos he created, Ian was sitting In the hovercar they find when they leave the hoodlums with Sophia.

Silence engulfed where Ian and Sophia were sitting. Sophia who saw the scene Ian made were afraid of looking at Ian.

She knows that the world was cruel and full of injustice, but seeing a scene full of blood and screams of agony still shaken her to her core.

She is just a normal porter that didn't attract unwanted attention for she is just a poor porter with no to little crystal so she didn't meet hoodlums like them. 

So witnessing how she attracted unwanted attention due to her sudden wealth made her twice if her decision was right.

She didn't need attention that danger her life for she is just a weak gifter, but she also needed money that could make her sister and her life better, but this money attracted greedy people which made her didn't know what to do.

"Are you afraid of me?"

Sophia had gotten back to reality when she heard Ian's words. She didn't answer him for an instant. Ian also didn't force her, he just kept looking at the window of the car waiting for her answer.

"Mmm."

A minute passed and Ian heard a hum. Due to the silence and with Ian's enhanced hearing he heard her response. A moment of silence before Ian asks while still looking at the scene outside.

"Is it because of what I do to the hoodlums?"

"Mm."

An immediate answer was heard from Sophia.

"Then, if I didn't re-awakened and still have a useless ability, what do you think is the result?" Ian asked.

Sophia jolted from her daze. She didn't answer Ian since she knows the answer deep in her heart. She was still thinking about what would happen to her if Ian was not there with her, and heard him say.

"I know that what I did to them was cruel, but I didn't regret doing it because it's their karma. It's not their first time doing it, many weak porters like you suffer from their oppressiveness. They should be thankful that I didn't kill them."

Ian didn't explain it to her to make her don't fear him, but he explained it for her to know what will be the consequences of not retaliating.

If she still fears him, then that's alright with him. He will just find another teammate for his future party. He invited her not only because of her personality but also because of her ability that has the potential to become extraordinary if trained right.

A full week passed like a wind. Ian was currently in his room doing a push up with double his mass. At first, his first try made him kiss the floor from how heavy it became that his body was sticking on the floor that made the floor almost give up if not for the timely stop of his ability.

Thankfully his body and bones were enhanced that it didn't break from the gravity.

But training for a week made his body adapt faster, that he can now train on 5x gravity which is an incredible advancement, but all of it was all thanks to the Pills effect that made his body in its peak condition.

Training his body was his priority, so he didn't raid portals, instead, he reviewed the Portals that he would raid later while training his body.

A full week of training while eating beneficial foods especially monsters meat full of nutrients that made his boney body regain some muscles.

Mia compiled him the list of the Portals that can be solved by an A-rank when Ian asked her. She didn't ask anything and just complied with his request.

Mia knows what Ian is thinking so she didn't rebuke him, instead, she supports his decision since she planned to form a party with him after her prohibition was finished which is a month away.

So she needs him to train his ability so he wouldn't become a burden for her when they raid higher Portal level.

"20. Ah~" Moaned Ian from exhaustion.

He was presently lying on the sweat that made him stand up wobbly.

He can push up to twenty with 5x gravity on him which is a big improvement from how he can't even do two push-ups when he started. He didn't take off the gravity on his body since it's part of his training but it's on its lowest.

Walking to the bathroom was hard with how exhausted his body was but was still doable for him.

It takes 30 minutes before he finishes his shower. He didn't bother changing clothes and lied on his bed with a towel on his waist.

He plans to raid the dungeon at night so he needs to rest first since it's still 12:50 in the morning.

As for Sophia, Ian grants her a week or two to decide if she wants to continue with his offer or not. Two weeks was long and Ian knows it. He gives her two weeks to spend her money with her sister since he knows how hard it is for her who was like a single parent to her sister.

With how many crystals Sophia received from the loots, she won't need to go to the dungeon for the coming years to come even if she declines to become his party member.
