Chapter 41: Rumors

"Mr. show me your top quality light armor in your store." A teen asked hurriedly.

The owner of the shop looked at Ian in doubt and asked "Lad, let me remind you that my armors are not cheap, especially an armor with a good quality."

Ian didn't mind the attitude of the owner of the shop for he indeed looks poor with how worn-out his current armor is.

Ian awakened already at night that he didn't have time to shop in the main district where armors and weapons are sold.

And due to his haste, he unconsciously wore his old armor and flew to the nearest Portal where Mia informed him that it takes him 30 minutes of continuous flying.

"You don't have to worry about the money," Ian replied while taking the IDC in his pocket, showing it to the owner.

The owner's eyes widened and his mouth opened wide seeing the IDC Ian shows. He bowed his head in apology while trembling for fear Ian will kill him for disrespecting him.

Ian showed a wry smile when he saw this. Although he just recently became an A-ranked Gifter he knew why the man was trembling when he showed his rank.

Those who are at a higher rank have their pride held high, especially Gifters that raid Portals. So ordinary people respected and feared them at the same time.

So offending a High ranking Gifter was akin to seeking death in the eyes of those people without power to defend themselves.

Shaking his head, Ian voiced, "It's okay, just show me your top quality light armor. Also made it fast since I am in a hurry."

Hearing Ian, the owner sigh in relief. He instantly brought the best quality armor in his shop and showed it to Ian.

"How much?" Ian asked.

He immediately asked. He didn't have time so he doesn't have time to inspect it, even if he has the time he doesn't know anything about armor so he just buys things of excellent quality since he knows that good quality was equivalent to a high price.

"A complete set of light armor with a top-quality is worth 499.999.99 crystals. But with an honorable Gifter like you, the original price was doable." The owner replied.

Although it hurt his heart, his life was more important than money so he didn't mind lowering the price to it'sorigibal prices.

The weapons and armors that were sold in the Main District and Shops near the Portal were different. Items that were sold in Shops near the Portals were more expensive even though their quality was the same.

So Ian being offered the original price means it's half of the offered price the owner proclaimed.

Ian nodded his head since someone gave him a discount. He won't refuse it for it's still a large sum of money. Being a thrifty person is not a bad habit even though you're rich.

Giving his IDC, the owner processed the procedure, while Ian got permission to use the back of the shop to wear his newly bought armor.

After shopping in the armor shop, Ian's next destination was Potion and Weapon Shops. Although he thinks that he didn't need it especially the weapon for he still has a pistol with unlimited bullets, but being prepared was not a disadvantage so he still bought it with all his remaining money.

5x Potion of Stamina.

5x Potion of Energy.

5x Potion of Health.

15 Potions of different kinds and a sword cost him half a million crystals that made him crystal less once again.

But Ian didn't mind losing all his crystal for he will still gain more with his raids in the future.

"Look! Is that guy going to commit suicide soloing a 3rd Tier Normal Portal?"

"Idiot! Look at his armor. I think it's a high ranked Gifter."

"But It's my first time seeing him. If he is a Gifter that can solo a Tier 3 normal Dungeon like what you said he should be well-known."

Different kinds of conversation can be heard near the entrance of the Portal.

All of their conversations were revolving around one topic and that's about a youth wearing a top-quality light armor striding confidently on the Portal.

Witnessing a Gifters Raiding Portals was a daily sight. However, discovering a youth soloing a dungeon was rare in this country since an A-ranked Gifters and above can only be counted in both hands and two-foot fingers.

News traveled faster than the winds. With the news of a new A-ranked Gifter being discovered. The higher-ups of different organizations in the country scrambled like a chicken trying to find information about this new strong Gifter since if they recruit him/her it's another boon for them and their group.

No one knows who spread the news but no one suspected it when many witnesses were questioned that their faces were on the news.

Mia was resting on her desk when her door suddenly slammed open.

The room temperature also became lower as Mia's mood worsened, she didn't think someone was brave enough to barge in on her office.

A middle-aged handsome man enters her office. The man strides to where Mia is sitting without minding the low temperature as if it didn't affect him at all.

The man has a height of 2 meters with a buffy body. The suit that he wore can't contain his muscles that it looks like it will shred into pieces with every step he made.

Mia's mood becomes better when she sees the middle-aged man. And asked with a frown on her brows.

"Why are you here Uncle? Is it already time for me to abdicate that you come here yourself?"

The man didn't mind her attitude toward him and her cold voice since from what he remembers she is always like that when her ability manifests.

Her cute and lovely self when she was young was gone like a vapor that can only be remembered in the passing time.

The man shakes his head in disappointment since her ability even made her become ice beauty.

"Why didn't you report that we have a new A-ranked Gifter?" He asked seriously since having another A ranker in their guild was like having another head for their group.

As a guild leader, he was busy, and always out of the city. So the news of a new A-ranked Gifter was only heard when he came back which is today from the guard guarding the Assessment Room.

So instead of going to his office he immediately headed to Mia which is where he is now.

Mia's cold face suddenly bloomed like a beautiful flower. She giggled like a child that just found a new toy and replied.

"He is going to be the new member of my group, that's why I didn't inform you."

Ad Bayani suddenly has a headache hearing his niece. He also fully knows his niece so he knows all her adventures which are full of dangers that no one wants to join her party.

"Did he agree? Or he knows?" Although he knows the answer, he still asks.

"Why do I need to ask him? He being on my team was an honor so why bother asking his opinion." Mia's blooming face became cold when she heard his question since every time she does it, no one will join and instead distance themselves from her like she is some kind of plaque.

"Have it your way. But remember you still have time to work in my guild. If you leave a day earlier before the allotted time I will tell your parents so that you won't enter Portals again in the future." Ad Bayani warned her.

Although it looks childish, threatening her with her parents, it works well for Mia since she fears and respects her parents, especially her mother.
