Chapter 42: Goblin Dungeon Part 1

Oblivious to the talk of the City, Ian was currently walking on the Bridge of Darkness that leads to the Dungeon.

Just like what Sona said, there is indeed a way leading to the unknown in this darkness.

Each step he takes, a trail lit up that makes him won't lose in this darkness.

Ian remembers that it will take half an hour to reach the end of the path so he made his body as light as a feather and ran at his fastest speed.

He tried flying but no trails appeared so he could only run since he didn't want to lose his way and also his mind if he walks in 30 minutes here all alone.

Without another choice, Ian runs his way on the bridge of darkness.

Being alone in this darkness can be dangerous for weak-minded gifters. That even staying in just five minutes with no companion can make them lose their minds and sanity.

Although Ian's mind was not that weak, he didn't want to risk it so he ran at full speed with his ability fully activated. It's supposed to be 30 minutes before he reaches the Gate but with his quickness, he reaches it in 5 minutes of running.

No matter how he looked at the gate, Ian was still in awe from its appearance. His opinion also changed when he saw this gate from when he first saw it.

When he was with everyone on his first raid, he thought of this gate as an oasis in the desert.

But now that he is alone, his thoughts differ and think of this gate as a gate leading to heaven in this hell-like place.

That's how he currently feels after running for 5 minutes straight on this darkness. What was scary in this place was not an enemy suddenly appearing, but a mind full of imagination.

A mind full of imagination can make you think anything in this darkness and being alone in the booth, your thought process will become pessimistic that can potentially damage the brain which is f*cking risky.

But it won't happen for Ian since he was not alone with Lily in his mind or soul. That he can talk to just like what he did when he was running for 5 minutes.

According to Mia's Information, this dungeon was straightforwardly a dungeon that can be seen on an M*nga. Unlike the dungeon previously that looks like an island.

There are two types of Dungeons.

First are called [WD] or World Dungeon.

It's a dungeon where a different world can be seen.

An example was the previous dungeon Ian raid with a group of B rank Gifters.

Although it looks like an Island, it's almost there since truly new world dungeons can only be seen on Red Portals which is the second most dangerous Portal.

And the 2nd was the [DD] or Dungeon inside the Dungeons.

It's where Ian currently is heading which is the only gate separating them.

And each Type of Dungeon has their Pro and Cons.

Like the Pro on the [WD] that can make Gifters take the body of dead the monster Is a greater loot while the Cons was it only has a little [CC] on the dungeon since not all monster has them.

While the [DD] was the opposite of [WD].

The Pros of the [DD] was it's easy to loot crystals in the monsters for all the monsters on the [DD] have [CC] after they disappear. And the Cons were they cant loot body since the [DD] consume anything that's inside the dungeon except for the living beings.

Summoning his Tiger Eagle, Ian stride on the Gate with caution.

After the enveloping white light in his body disappeared Ian saw only darkness, but not the same darkness as in the Bridge of the darkness he was on earlier.

A few minutes after his appearance, Ian saw how the torches on the wall suddenly lit up, which made him see the way leading deeper toward the dungeon.

Walking deeper Ian saw his first fantasy monster, which is a group of goblins.

There are 10 total normal goblins and two Goblins with a different build than the test of the goblins since they were taller.

The ten normal goblins have the build and height of a child, they also have a weapon on their bodies which is puzzling to Ian for where they got their weapons from.

While the two Goblins with a build of a teenager didn't have any armor, instead they are holding a Katana. Yes, a katana just like a samurai.

Ian was glaring at the two goblins with a katana. It's his first time seeing goblins holding a katana with the posture of a samurai.

Seeing is indeed believing. Mia's report also states different kinds of goblins but he didn't believe it at that time, but now he didn't have any other choice but to believe it.

"Graaghrag!!"

"Grouiooh!!"

Spotting Ian, the Goblin with a sword growls at his cronies. That made the place noisy from their conversation? That Ian can't understand.

"Graaaaahhhh!!"

With a shout from their leader, the ten goblins with a knife in their hand as a weapon, rush at Ian with their mouth wide open salivating from looking at Ian and creating a disgusting scene that made Ian shudder not from fear but from disgusted.

He didn't think these monsters thought of him as food.

*Bang! *Bang! Bang!! Bang!

Gunshot reverberated on this small area, goblins keep falling one after another, with a hole on their forehead or sometimes on their faces.

Ian's marksmanship was not perfect so it's not weird if he missed his intended targets.

Out of ten goblins that rush at him, nobody was alive, all of them were on the floor with green liquid coming out of their bodies from the hole Ian created.

The two goblin samurai also become alerted, the human they thought was just a lost lamb suddenly becomes a ferocious tiger that slaughters their minions.

Goblins have little to none intelligence, especially those goblins that didn't evolve into hobgoblins.

So seeing Ian, they thought of him as a weak human that can be defeated with numbers.

Unlike wolves that have a strong sense of smell that they can use to identify powerful foes as their inborn talent, the goblins don't have those.

Goblins' inborn talent was shown when they were born, their fast-growth that made them like a cockroach that kept expanding made the [DD] dungeon they resided in become a higher rank due to their numbers.

*Bang! *Bang!

Two gunshots were shot, which the two goblins easily dodge.

Unlike the normal goblins, these two goblins have a good reflex.

Ian frowned, it seems it won't be an easily cleared dungeon he thought.

The two goblins rush at Ian at the same time, they move at the same time taking both Ian's sides with their sword ready to hack him to pieces

Ian didn't panic, he watched them calmly and when he saw them a meter away from him, he used his ability on both of them that made them stop on their track.

Both goblins that were rushing at Ian with their full speeds fell at the same time due to the sudden weight on their body.

*Bang! Bang!

Ian who planned their demise didn't hesitate to shoot the two poor goblins, which made them die without knowing how.

[Floor Cleared]
