Chapter Twenty Four

Soon they finished their treats and Alex drove her back home.

"I had a wonderful time," Adriel said. There were both in front of the main entrance.

"Me too." He smiled. Alex knew he'd missed his chance at the cafe and he thought it was probably for the best because he didn't want to lose her.

He'd rather have her as a friend than nothing at all.

Adriel didn't want him to leave, she was hoping he could finish telling her what he hadn't had the chance to at the cafe.

"I hope you sleep well Adriel." He said much to her disappointment but then he leaned down and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

She stood frozen, not knowing what to do, but she knew what she wanted. She'd wanted him to see her as someone other than his best friend's baby sister.

But he'd leaned back before she could say anything.

She was still standing so close and the urge to kiss her was becoming unbearable but Alex willed himself to take a step back.
