Candy

Rebecca asked Charlie if he was okay after the fight he had with Noah. Charlie simply responded with a nod and Rebecca sighed in relief. To Charlie's luck, his glasses didn't shatter or anything. There were just a few little scratches.

Rebecca stared at the bruise on Charlie's swollen cheek.

"Are you sure you're okay? You don't look like it," asked Rebecca, genuinely worried.

Charlie nodded again without looking at her and walked straight to class.

Meanwhile, Evelyn and Kevin were chillin' together in the library as usual.

"Sorry, Evelyn. I have practice this afternoon. Is it okay if you walk home alone?" Kevin said while putting the books inside of his backpack, getting ready to go to his practice.

Evelyn just nodded with a smile. It wasn't unusual for her to come home from school alone since Kevin is an athletic person.

The bell rang indicating that the students can all finally go home. The students were busy packing their bags and chatting as well as Evelyn and Charlie.

Before going off, Charlie put something on Evelyn's desk. It was his favorite candy. Charlie told her that the candy was a gift as a celebration for the beginning of their friendship.

Evelyn just smiled and thanked him before wearing her backpack.

As she walked to the front door of her class, she remembered that she had to walk home alone that day. Evelyn had an idea to ask Charlie to accompany her home but as she was about to walk to Charlie, she saw that Charlie and Rebecca had already went out through the back door.

Evelyn sighed and took out her airpod and put it on her ear. Suddenly, the song "All We Know" by The Chainsmokers and Phoebe Ryan was played.

On her way home, she came across an old lady carrying heavy belongings on the other side of the road.

Evelyn took off her airpods and was about to help the old lady when suddenly, she saw a man ran towards the old lady. She stopped at her place and watched closely. It was Charlie.

He hugged the old lady tightly before taking over her heavy belongings. They both walked together.

Charlie's actions seemed to have attracted Evelyn's attention but she brushed the feelings off as if it was nothing. She put her airpods back on and continued to walk home.
