Hatred

The students were supposed to be learning English for the day but it seemed that their teacher was absent.

So, the students decided to take advantage of that to continue discussing about the activity they were going to be doing for the upcoming festival.

Team 2 had occupied the right side of the class to discuss about their convenience store while team 1 had went for the left. Charlie and the others continued their discussion from where they left off.

"I don't think we can sell just waffles by its own," Brian stated his opinion, getting the attention of his teammates. They all went silent for a while. Focusing on their own thoughts. Brian did made a good point.

"Guys! I have an idea!" Rebecca said out of the blue, breaking the quiet atmosphere with excitement written all over her face. Her teammates all fixed their attention to her.

"Why don't we just add more items to the menu? Like cotton candy, cookies and even doughnuts!" She exclaimed, feeling proud of her own suggestion.

"That sounds interesting," Harry said, agreeing to the suggestion the girl made. The other nodded their heads in approval.

"Since we've added more to the menu, why don't you rearrange our tasks, Harry?" Hana said, smiling with her teeth.

While Harry was busy giving them each their own tasks, their substitute teacher suddenly showed up. The students all greeted the teacher in unison.

"Good morning, students. I'm Mr. Wilson and I will be your substitute teacher for this period. I'm sorry I came in late. I had things to do. Anyway, do you guys have any work to do?" He asked while fixing his glasses.

"Uhm sir, can we discuss about our activities for the upcoming festival?" Harry asked to get Mr. Wilson's permission first.

"Ah yes, you can go do that. I'm gonna finish my work here. I hope you guys can behave and not make too much noise," he warned before going off to set his stuff on his desk.

The students immediately went back to their previous position. Harry then continued giving out their tasks.

Rebecca, Evelyn and Hana had been assigned to buy the ingredients. While Harry will go to rent a waffles machine from the store alongside with Brian and Charlie. All of the tasks given by Harry would be implemented a day before the festival.

While they were all discussing, someone showed up in the classroom. It turned out that he was one of their classmate who was well known for his attractiveness and his talent in soccer. He went by the name Kevin Blythe and was also Evelyn's cousin. He barely showed up in class because of the practices he had to attend.

When he walked in, almost all of his classmates were excited to see him as he was the idol of many students. He was already blessed with a good looking face and on top of that, he was mad talented in many sports. An ideal man indeed.

Charlie was interested in being friends with him so he brushed off his nervous feelings and went to introduce himself to Kevin confidently.

"Hi, I'm Charlie!" He started, holding out his hand in an attempt of a handshake. Kevin only eyed him up and down as if he already disliked Charlie's presence. However, he forced himself to accept Charlie. He wanted to keep his name as the beloved students of all teachers and the idol of many students.

"Kevin," he simply replied, showing no interest whatsoever as he walked off to his seat. Charlie pulled his hand back and slid them into his pocket, feeling a bit sad of the rejection. He cheekishly smiled in embarrassment.

Evelyn wasn't too happy with what Kevin did to Charlie just then. So, she called for Charlie to help her carry the exercise books that Mr. Wilson asked them to bring to the teacher's office.

Charlie quickly carried the books and jogged to catch up with Evelyn. They both walked side by side towards the teacher's office.

Kevin carefully eyed them while forming a fist in dissatisfied. He was jealous of Charlie. He was jealous of how they were walking sude by side together.

While both Charlie and Evelyn was on their way to Mr. Wilson's table, Evelyn gave Charlie a little advice.

"If Kevin ever bullies you or hurt you, don't hesitate to tell me!" She smiled but was obviously worried about Charlie.

Charlie nodded in silent. He didn't know why but he was nervous from the thought of walking with Evelyn alone, side by side.
