"Do you have a crush on Charlie?" A voice suddenly asked, making Evelyn's body turned around in surprise, both from the voice and the question.
It was none other than Luna herself, standing with her arms crossed across her chest, an irritated expression could be seen all over her face.
"What's wrong? Are you scared? Frightened? Or perhaps, you're worried that I'll steal Charlie from you," she mocked through her questions, a smirk slowly crept on her face as she imagined Evelyn quivering in fear from her.
The reason that she had asked Evelyn those questions was because she was so sure that Evelyn had feelings for Charlie. She was confident with her instinct as she thought that she could see right through her mind.
-FLASHBACK-
Luna and Charlie continued their way to the stall after Evelyn had told them to go first. They both left her so that she could take the call somewhere comfortably. It was all going normal as they both walked to the direction of the stall until Luna suddenly stopped on her track. Naturally, Charlie also stopped, turning his whole body around to look at her, trying to figure out what was the reason of her sudden behaviour.
"Why did you stop?" He immediately asked, confusion written all over his tired face. He was worried if anything happened to her to have made her stopped all of the sudden.
"Charlie, can you go to the stall alone? I have something that i need to do," she replied as she sent him the same puppy eyes, 100% sure that it will work on him.
"Oh, okay then," Charlie simply responded. He gave her a warm smile before turning around to continue his walk. At the same time, he felt the relief washed over him as he found out that nothing wrong had happened to her. He calmly left her there, not looking back again after.
-END OF FLASHBACK-
Evelyn stood there shook to death from Luna's questions and overall her sudden appearance in front of her. She gripped on her uniform as Luna continued to boombard her with more questions that had probably made Evelyn mentally bled herself from her ears.
"Are you not satisfied with all of the boys that you've dated before? Why'd you have to target Charlie as your next victim?" Evelyn snapped, not having the mood to put up with the girl's behaviour towards her.
Evelyn mimicked her body language as she also crossed her arms across her chest. She eyed her up and down in disgust, trying to get her to back off.
"Haha, you do realize that I have feelings for him right? And do you wanna know why?" Luna laughed at her face, her smirk never leaving from her face as she questioned her.
However, Evelyn proudly ignored her question, not replying with anything whatsoever, leaving the corners of Luna's lips to curve down in boredom.
"I like him because he's unique. He's actually attractive if he doesn't wear that stupid looking glasses," Luna continued, not caring if Evelyn ignored her question seconds ago. Luna flashed her an innocent look, trying to piss her off even more, which was clearly a success because of how Evelyn looked at her.
"This is a warning from me. Don't you dare get close with Charlie ever again!" Evelyn threatened her, balling up a fist as she held herself back from killing her right there and then. Luna's chuckle echoed through the hallway, she had definitely expected her to say that. She saw it coming but she was very much entertained nonetheless.
"What if I don't want to? What are you gonna do about it?" Luna responded, pouting her lips to mock Evelyn's warning. Her expression changed to an unamused face as she reacted to Evelyn's warning, not frightened one bit. Evelyn have had it with Luna. That was the last straw. Evelyn brought her hand up into the air as she walked closer to Luna, who was smiling at her slyly. She was about to land her hand onto Luna's face until someone suddenly appeared into the scene.
"Luna, Evelyn! What are you guys doing here? I've been looking for you guys everywhere! Let's go help the other clean the stall. The school's gonna close soon," Hana said, hitting them both on the shoulder. She then proceeded to drag them both along with her as they both obediently followed her. Once the three of them had arrived, Harry immediately told Luna to help Charlie and Giselle sweep the floor. Evelyn on the other hand, was told to go help Hana and Jennie count and sort their sales revenue for the day. The other was already busy with their own given tasks. Evelyn obeyed him as she walked over to Hana and Jennie who were sitting together, focused on counting the money.
"Uhm Charlie, I think my shoe lace is untied. Can you tie for me real quick?" She asked, acting all cutesy and stuff with her squeaky voice as she tried to get him to do what she wanted him to do. Evelyn who was doing her work looked at them from the side of her vision, along with Hana and Jennie. They were all clearly annoyed and bored with her nasty behaviour. Meanwhile, Charlie who was sweeping the floor stopped after she had asked him the question. He fixed his gaze to her shoe, looking at it for a while before giving her a small laugh. Giselle gave herself a look at Luna's shoe and found herself giggling.
"Your shoe doesn't even have laces, silly!" Charlie took a deep breath before laughing at her again, continuing on his work afterwards. At the same time, Evelyn, Hana and Jennie quietly chuckled together while looking over at Luna. Luna could feel the heat radiating on her face, the embarrassment flowing into her veins. She looked at Charlie and then Giselle. She put the broom aside and quickly reached for her backpack.
"I forgot that I have classes tonight. I'll get going now!" She said, loud and clear for everyone to hear before storming off from the stall in embarrassment.
"Hahaha in her face! That's what you get for being so clingy and annoying," Giselle heaved a tired sigh, irritated from Luna's behaviour. She was so displeased with how messy her sweeping was. It was as if her help wasn't even helping them!
"Good thing she's pretty. If not, she'd definitely be lonely right now with that kind of attitude," Hana mimicked Giselle as she also sighed. Little did Hana knew, that her words had made Rebecca, who was cleaning the tables, hurt. Charlie immediately stopped his sweeping after he had noticed Rebecca's painful reaction towards Hana's words. Charlie then walked over to where Rebecca was.
"Hey, don't worry. Do you wanna know something? I believe that there are absolute no one in this world that is ugly. Eveyone has their own beauty that lies inside of them which can only be seen by very few people," Charlie reassured, hoping that he had made her at least feel a bit better about herself. He flashed her a small heartwarming smile. Rebecca nodded as she rethought about his words, smiling back to him as she felt happy to be friends with him. Evelyn who had been eyeing Charlie the whole time, gripped on the money on her hand. Something seemed to had been bothering her.
"Does he have feelings towards Rebecca?" She asked herself, over thinking her worst nightmare. Hana and Jennie who were staring at Evelyn daydreamed, waved their hands in front of her, in an attempt to bring her back to earth.
"Are.. you okay?" Jennie said, hinting her confusion as Evelyn finally realized that she had been watching Charlie for too long. She vigorously nodded her head as she quickly went back to her counting, hoping that they won't ask her more questions. Once they were all finished cleaning the stall, they started to divide the money equally to each and one of them.
"Wow, I'm finally rich!" Brian said in full enthusiasm, making small hops with his feet as he looked at the money on his hands. They all watched him as they chuckled at his cute behaviour. He looked like a child that was rewarded with candies. While they were all busy laughing at Brian, Charlie's phone suddenly vibrated in his pocket, indicating that he had received a message. He took his phone out and looked at the name. It was from Granny Nancy. It appeared that she had sent him a message to tell him to invite his friends over to the bakery to eat.
"Uh guys. Do you guys wanna eat at my bakery? My grandmother would love to meet you guys," Charlie said, slipping his phone back into his pocket.
"Sorry Charlie, me and Jennie have class tonight," Jerry politely declined as Jennie, who was beside him, nodded at his words. They both bid them all goodbye and walked home together.
"What about the others?" Charlie asked once again, trying to get confirmation from all of them.
"Yeah, we're free. Let's go!" Said Brian, Harry, Jayden and Weng, all in sync as they all felt excited to eat.
"Us too!" Hana said, referring to herself, Giselle and Rebecca.
"Evelyn?" Charlie looked over at her, waiting for her to reply.
"Huh?" Evelyn responded, confused after she had realized she was still daydreaming. Evelyn's slowness made Charlie giggled.
"Don't you wanna meet Granny Nancy? She asked us to go eat at the bakery," he repeated his question to Evelyn as she finally understood their discussion.
"Of course I do! Let's go!" She replied in excitement, immediately standing up from her seat. Without her realizing, she grabbed Charlie by his arm and dragged him out, making her way to the bakery as the others followed them from behind, laughing at her reaction.
