Fever

Evelyn walked towards Kevin's bedroom which was on the second floor with Kevin on her back. She opened the door and immediately pushed him off of her harshly, causing Kevin to fall onto the hard ground.

"Ouch, that hurts!" Kevin yelped in pain, feeling betrayed by Evelyn.

"Well, what am I supposed to do? You're too heavy," she responded, as if she had done nothing wrong to him. She then laughed at Kevin who was still hurt on the floor. Kevin pouted his lips before standing up and wrapped himself in his warm blanket. He then sat on his bed with his body still wrapped like a burrito. Evelyn shook her head in disbelief after witnessing a childish Kevin sulking in front of her. She ignored his little behaviour and proceeded to walk out of his bedroom. She ran down the stairs and walked straight into the kitchen to look for ingredients so that she could start on cooking for the both of them.

She walked towards the fridge and opened it with hope that there's some useful things for her to cook. There were fruit juice, vegetables and some frozen foods left in the gigantic fridge. She took a good long look inside the fridge before moving on to the cabinets. There she found a big container filled with rice. Upon seeing the amount of the rice that they had, an idea magically appeared. She decided to make rice porridge as their dinner for the night.

Time had passed and Evelyn finally finished cooking their rice porridge. She immediately turned off the stove and grabbed a ladle so that she could serve the porridge. She grabbed two medium sized bowl and carefully poured the porridge in each of the bowl. She then put them on the dining table so that they could eat it after. Evelyn had also prepared Kevin's medicine along with a glass of water beside his bowl. She wasted no time and ran up the stairs to go straight into Kevin's bedroom to get him to eat dinner with her.

Meanwhile, at the bakery~

Charlie was busy helping his grandmother clean the bakery as it was already their closing time. He had been silent ever since he met his uncle that evening.

"Charlie, are you okay?" One of the employee asked, worried while wiping the window. The employee's name was Leon and he was still in his 20s. Leon had just finished his studies at a university a month ago so, he decided that while he was waiting for his job offer, he would work at Granny Nancy's bakery for some working experience.

Charlie, who was wiping the tables, jolted out of his thoughts after hearing Leon's voice. He then looked over to the male employee and immediately responded to his question without hesitation.

"Ah, I'm fine," he said. Leon looked at him suspiciously, not believing in Charlie's simple words. He then stopped wiping the window and walked towards Charlie.

"Are you really okay? You've been quiet for the past hours. You would usually talk to me right now," Leon asked again, growing more worried for the boy. He wanted to make sure that Charlie's answer to his previous question was indeed true. However this time, Charlie only looked down to the floor and said nothing.

"If you're not okay, you can always tell me. Maybe I can help you with your problems. Even if I can't, you'll at least feel a bit better after you've shared your problems with me. I'm always listening you know," Leon continued once he realized that Charlie didn't answer his second question. He tried his best to get Charlie to tell him what was bothering him. All of his effort made Charlie sighed in defeat.

"I actually have a lot if problems right now," Charlie finally spoke. He looked like he was finally willing to share his story to Leon. Leon smiled while listening to the boy as he shared his problems comfortably.

At Aunt Mary's house~

"Kevin," Evelyn called his name, knocking onto his bedroom door. However, she received no reply from him whatsoever. She called for him multiple times but still, Kevin didn't answer. Evelyn had finally lost her patience because of Kevin. She then aggresively twisted the doorknob and walked in without his permission.

"Oh, he's in the bathroom," Evelyn thought after she realized that Kevin was not in his bedroom but instead, was showering in the bathroom that was attached to the room. Suddenly, the bathroom door was slowly opening. Evelyn was quick to realize what was about to happen so as a reaction, she immediately ran out from the room. Kevin, who had just got done showering, saw Evelyn running out of his room, causing a small chuckle to slip out of his lips. Even though Evelyn had already exited Kevin's room, she could still hear his little chuckle from the outside. She calmed herself down and decided to let it slide. Her face began to redden as she realized that she shouldn't have walked into Kevin's room without his permission.

"Come downstairs after you're done. I'll wait for you there," Evelyn said, loud enough for Kevin to hear before walking down towards the kitchen. Meanwhile, Kevin who was in his room, immediately wore his clothings in a rushed manner as he was very excited that he could finally eat. He had been starving before Evelyn had even reached his house.

In the bakery~

Charlie was standing outside of the bakery, trying to lock the main door. Granny Nancy had already went home because she needed to go back to the house early that day. That's why Charlie had to manage the bakery all on his own from the evening 'til night.

"Charlie, let me send you home. It's worrying me that you're gonna walk home alone this late at night," Leon offered, his face showing worry. Leon owned a car license as he was 24 years old already.

"It's okay, bro. I can walk home on my own. You don't have to worry," Charlie politely declined his offer.

"What a stubborn little kid. What if Noah and his gang— or even Luna disturb you while you're on your way home? Let me send you home," Leon continued, not accepting his decline while opening his car door for Charlie to get in. Charlie had no other choice but to accept Leon's offer.

"Thank you," Charlie thanked before walking into the car.

"You're welcome. By the way, if you've ever need a ride, don't hesitate to hit me up. Don't worry, it's doesn't bother me. You're like my little brother after all," Leon assured, displaying a genuine smile to Charlie. Charlie felt overwhelmed upon hearing Leon's nice words. He then returned the smile with a more wider one.
