Charlie's sick?

"Beep, beep, beep," the sound of the alarm could be heard in the room, causing Evelyn to wake up from her deep slumber. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and tried to adjust her vision slowly. She then looked over to her phone that was sitting on her bedside table. It displayed 6:15 in the morning.

-FLASHBACK-

Evelyn walked towards the guest room to get some rest. She had just got done cleaning the kitchen and she was worn out already. She threw her whole body straight onto the giant bed carelessly.

"I have school tomorrow.. I need to go back home early or else I'll be late. And I mean, Kevin's fever has gone down and he's all healthy now," Evelyn muttered to herself, her voice muffled in the pillow. She then reached for her phone that was laying on the table and set the alarm for 6:15 in the morning. She stared at her phone for a while and her mind went blank. She rubbed her eyes and then put her phone back to the table. She slowly closed her eyes and went straight to sleep without herself realizing.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

Evelyn grabbed her phone slowly, still feeling a bit sleepy. She turned off the alarm and sat up on the bed. She stared into the distance for a bit before standing up to get her towel. She then went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. The sound of water running down from the shower head could be heard in the house. Evelyn didn't take too much time and had finished her shower after a few minutes had passed. She wrapped herself in her towel and walked out of the bathroom to get ready and pack her belongings so that she could go back home.

Evelyn looked over to her watch which displayed 6:45 in the morning. She immediately made her way to the front door and walked straight back to her house. Her departure was unknown by Kevin and the reason for that was because he was still deep in his slumber to even realize that. Evelyn had purposely left without telling him because she already knew that he wouldn't let her go home and that he would just get in her way of going to school. So, she took the decision to not tell him and just went home all by herself. After she had walked far enough from the mansion, she took a taxi to go back to her house.

15 minutes passed and she had finally arrived at her abode. She paid for the taxi and immediately walked to the front door. She easily unlocked the door with the key that she had and pushed the door open. The sight that had welcomed her was nothing out of the ordinary. It was a huge mess but she was unfazed by it. Her father was an alcoholic. He would always rage out of nowhere and starts throwing everything that was in his view.

Evelyn quietly sighed before making her way to her room. She put her bag and her belongings onto the floor. She then walked back to the living room to start cleaning up the mess without saying anything. There, she could see her father laying on the sofa, sleeping with a bottle of alcohol in his hand. She ignored his presence and went straight to cleaning the messy room.

Time passed and she was finally done with cleaning the living room up. The once cluttered room was now back to its original state, thanks to Evelyn's hard work. She looked at her watch and realized that it was 7:15 already. She wasted no time and walked to the kitchen to make some breakfast. She placed the cooked food onto the dining table and made her way back to her room so that she could pack her school bag and get ready for school.

7.30 in the morning~

Evelyn was finally ready to go to school and she was wearing her backpack.

"Dad, I'm gonna go to school now. Your breakfast is on the table. Take care," Evelyn said to her father. However, she was left with no response whatsoever. She was used to it so she just continued to walk to the front door to put on her shoes and went to school like normal.

Meanwhile..

At Brian's house~

Brian has just woken up from his sleep. His face looked unsatisfied, caused by the not-so-happy dream that he had just experienced. His head was filled with nothing but the girl that he loved, named Rebecca. The memory of Rebecca confessing her love towards Charlie the other day was still fresh in his mind. However, Brian held no grudge against Charlie even after knowing about Rebecca's love for him.

"Does Charlie even have feelings for Becca?" He questioned himself. He shook the thought off of his mind and looked at the clock that was on the wall. He suddenly remembered that he had school that day. He realized that it was 7:30 in the morning already and his eyes widened in shock. Usually he would've gotten ready already, so he panicked and instantly stood up to go grab his blue towel. He quickly ran towards the bathroom to take a shower and get ready to school.

At Granny Nancy's house~

Charlie's phone alarm repeated itself multiple times very loudly in the morning. Charlie was still fast asleep that he didn't hear the alarm went off so there was no one to turn it off.

Granny Nancy who was in the kitchen busy making breakfast, was weirded out. Usually, charlie would've walked downstairs to the kitchen to eat breakfast with his grandmother. The worried woman finally decided to go to Charlie's room and check on him. She knocked on his door multiple times but still did not receive any response from the kid.

Granny Nancy started to grow more worried so she twisted the doorknob and surprisingly, it wasn't locked. She pushed the door open and made her way in. She walked towards the bedside table to turn Charlie's phone off. She sighed in relief after the alarm had finally stopped ringing as she had started to grow annoyed by the loudness of it. She then looked over at the boy who was laying on the bed.

Charlie had wrapped himself with his blanket and he was still sleeping despite the presence of his grandmother beside him. Granny Nancy knew something was up with her grandson so she walked closer to him and placed her hand on his forehead. It turned out that Charlie had caught a fever based on the temperature of his forehead.

Granny Nancy was shocked because she knew that Charlie rarely ever get a fever and that had caused her to panic. She rushed out of the room to grab a right sized napkin and went to soak it in water. She came back to the room and gently placed the wet napkin onto Charlie's forehead.

"Granny, I'm scared. I don't want you to leave me," Charlie said with his eyes still shut.

"It's okay, kid.. I'll never leave you. I'll always be by your side," the woman replied, sobbing a little bit while caressing the teen's head. Granny Nancy looked rather sad after witnessing Charlie in that state.

"I'll take you to the clinic after this. You go have some rest first. Your temperature is too hot," she continued before walking out of his room to let him rest.

Outside of Charlie's room~

A tear almost fell from Granny Nancy's eyes because she knew well the reason that had caused his grandson to catch a fever. Usually, Charlie would get a fever everytime he dreamed about his own family. The woman then went to find her phone so that she could call the school to inform about Charlie's absence for the day. She immediately dialed his teacher's number which was Mr. Dickson.
