First Day
The next day. 6:30 a.m.
The room is dark and quiet as the three are in deep sleep. Light breaks through the window, illuminating the room and suddenly the peace is disturbed as Lisa rushes through the door, waking them.
Lisa: Sorry and good morning everyone! Unfortunately you guys have to get up. You have school!
Kay: Mmmhhh.
Lilli: What? But it's so early!
Lisa: Cece called me a couple hours ago and apparently you all passed your test with flying colors! You three have been given AP classes so that requires you to get up right now! So come on, let's get ready. We're already late as it is.
Lilli: O...kay.
Lilli stretches and yawns before getting up. She walks over to the boy's bunk and drags Kayleb off of his bed. Holding him by his underarms, she hovers him over the floor trying to get him to walk for himself. All while calling Jake's name.
Lilli: Jake! Jake, come on let's go, you have to wake up. It's time to get ready.
Jake: Ugh...Fine.
They go off to the bathroom to get ready, and after they're done, they meet up with Lisa in the kitchen downstairs.
Kay: Good morning Mrs. Lisa!
Lisa: Good morning! Go ahead and sit down, breakfast is ready.
They sit and Lisa walks over with a tray holding three plates of food.
Lisa: Here you go.
Kay: Thank you!
Lilli+Jake: Thank you!
Kayleb swallows his food as if he has never eaten before.
Lisa: ...Whoa, Kayleb slow down, it's hot, you'll burn yourself.
He responds with food in his mouth.
Kay: It's okay! It's really good!
Lilli: Kayleb, manners please!
Lisa: Yes Kayleb, it's very rude to speak with your mouth full, but...I'm glad you like it. So...are you guys excited for your first day of school?!
Lilli: Yea, actually, I've never done this before!
Jake: Hmmm, I wouldn't say excited but more like interested to see how this goes. But now that I think about it, I should've failed the test so I wouldn't have to wake up so early.
Lisa: Aww, Don't be like that.
She responds while giggling.
Lisa: Alright, we need to get going, let's hurry up.
The kids finish eating their breakfast and then follows Lisa to the car. Ready to go, Lisa starts it up and they drive off, on their way to school.

They make it to the school and they continue to follow Lisa to the main office. There, a woman on the phone instructs them to wait one moment and to have a seat.
...
Woman: ...Good morning, how can I help you today?
Lisa: Ah, yes. My name is Lisa Baker and these are my grandchildren. They're transfer students and today is their first day.
Woman: Let me see, one moment please.
The woman searches through her computer for Lisa's name.
Woman: Ah, here you are. Mrs. Baker, and these young faces must be Lillien, Jake, and Kayleb. Correct?
Lisa: Yes, that is correct.
Woman: Okay! I will print out their schedules and call someone down to show them around.
Lisa: Thank you.
Woman: No problem.
Lisa turns to face the kids.
Lisa: Okay, this is where I take my leave. I'll be back later to pick you guys up. So have fun and take it easy.
Kay: Okay! See ya Mrs.-Uhh...Grandma!
Lilli: Yea, see ya grandma!
Jake: See ya!
Lisa smiles and blows kisses and waves her goodbyes before leaving the office. Five minutes later, and a girl with a long red ponytail and green eyes walks into the office.
Girl: I'm looking for uhh...Lillien?
Lilli: I'm Lillien.
The girl walks up to her and extends her arm to meet her.
Girl: Well hello Lillien, my name is Rachel. Nice to meet you!
Lilli: Nice to meet you too!
Rach: I'll be your school guide for the day. So...let's start off by going to your first class!
Lilli: O-Okay.
The girls were about to leave but the woman quickly stops them.
Woman: Wait, honey. You're forgetting your schedule.
Lilli: Heh, right. Thank you.
Woman: ...Here's your schedule as well boys.
The boys get up to collect their schedules, and as they're doing so, a boy with black short hair, and glasses that cover his light brown eyes. walk past the girls.
Woman: Are you here for Kayleb and Jake?
Boy: I think that's their names, yea.
Woman: Well, they're right here ready for ya. You boys have a nice first day!
Kay: Thank you!
Woman: No problem!
Jake and Kayleb walk over to the boy and introduce themselves.
Jake: Yo, I'm Jake.
Kay: And I'm Kayleb. Nice to meet you.
Boy: ...Alex.
Alex turns around and walks away. They boys look at each other confused and continue after him. They follow him up to the fourth floor and enter a classroom. Inside, there were 16 students, they were either doing their own thing or actually paying attention. The three boys make their way over to the only available seats, and as they sit down Alex prevents Kayleb from sitting right next to him, leaving an open spot.
Teacher: Ahh, we have new faces in the room. I apologize for not noticing as you walked in. Please, stand up and introduce yourselves.
Jake: Sure...Umm, Hello everyone, my name is Jake and I'm thirteen.
Kay: I'm Kayleb and I'm ten.
The class mutters in complete awe.
Teacher: Wow, thirteen and ten huh? HaHa, you hear that class, it seems like you've got some new competition...You two may sit down. Alright class, I didn't have much for you to do today because of your test tomorrow, I don't want to overwork you. So take this time to study and make sure you're prepared. It's not necessarily hard but I put some questions in there to see if ya'll have been paying attention. So I mean it when I say study, I don't want to see anything lower than a B.
The teacher turns on some calming music to set the mood. Meanwhile Jake turns to his classmate to the right of him and introduces himself.
Jake: I'm Jake, nice to meet you.
Boy: Lui, and likewise.
Jake: So Lui, tell me how things are like around here.
Lui: Oh, umm...for the most part things are pretty chill. Everyone does their own thing and stays in their lane ya know. When we're not studying or whatever, we just spend time with our friends, or by ourselves. It's whichever you prefer. Uhh...yeah that's it pretty much. Just try not to provoke anybody.
Jake: Sounds easy enough. And friends...uhh, I don't really have any. Would it be okay if my little brother and I hung out with you?
Lui: Sure, I don't mind. Speaking of...
Lui extends his hand over to Kayleb.
Lui: Nice to meet you uhh...K-Kayleb right?
Kay: Yup, nice to meet you too!
Lui: So you're ten huh? You're the youngest person I've ever seen in a class like this! How'd you do it!
Kay: I just circled the answers on the test they gave me.
In the midst of their conversation, a girl with brown eyes and long, messy, unkempt hair walks into the room and approaches the only available seat.

Teacher: Ahhh, Ms. Roland! I'm surprised you even bothered showing up. Even though we're not doing anything today. At least you showed up right! Hmm...I'll give you a C for effort.
Kay: {Whoa, Jake this girl is super pretty.}
Jake: {You think so? She looks like a mess.}
Kay: {That doesn't mean anything. She doesn't smell dirty...quite the opposite in fact.}
Jake: {Well, Kay, if you're interested, why don't you-}
Kay: Hi! My name is Kayleb. What's yours?!
The girl doesn't even look in his direction.
Kay: Ummm...
Alex: Hey kid, she doesn't want to talk right now. So if you don't mind, just fuck off.
Jake: Hey!-
Kay: {It's okay...Don't stress over it.}
Alex: ...Is there a problem?
Jake: Y-You didn't need to talk to him like that, that's all.
Alex: Well...let me tell you something for future reference. We don't care who you are, and the next time you bother us, there will be a problem...Got it?
Jake: Sure.
Lui whispers over to Jake and Kay to try to get their attention.
Lui: Kayleb, that's Mira Roland. I advise that you don't even bother with her. She only talks to Alex and he's super protective of her. No one knows why, but it's better to stay out of their business.
Kay: Okay.
Jake: {Kay, if that's the case, lets just do what he says and not bother them.}
Kay: {Hmmm...}
The bell rings dismissing the class.
Teacher: Remember class to study, tomorrow will reveal if you guys have been paying attention or not. Your test results will determine if I should work you guys harder or if everything can stay the same. It's all up to you. Jake and Kay, don't worry, you're exempt from taking the test...Roland! I need you to stay, we need to talk for a moment.
The class proceeds to leave and the boys follow Lui into the hallway. Rachel and Lilli walk by and excited to see his friend, Lui runs to her.
Lui: Hey Rach! What's up?! Who's this?
Rach: What's up Lui, this is Lilli, she's a transfer student.
Lui: Another transfer student huh?...Nice to meet you Lilli.
Lilli: Nice to meet you.
They boys walk up from behind Lui.
Rach: Oh, I get the surprise. I see you met the other two transfers.
Lui: Yea, this is Jake and Kayleb. Kay, Jake, this is my friend Rachel and also a new transfer student, Lilli.
Jake: Lilli is our sister...
Lui: ...Oh, I'm kinda slow for not putting two and two together...
Kayleb notices Mira walking out of the classroom. He walks away from the group determined to talk to her. He ends up behind her and tries to introduce himself once more.
Kay: Hi, umm Mira, It's me Kayleb.
Before he could continue. Alex walks in front of him and pushes Kayleb flat on his butt.
Alex: You don't listen, huh? You just had to be persistent. Well don't say I didn't warn ya.
Mira: Alex that's enough.
Alex: Shut up, Mira! I need to show this kid why he should mind his business.
Alex throws a punch at Kayleb but he effortlessly dodges it. And is now standing back on his feet.
Kay: Wait! You're mad because I want to be friends with her?!
Alex: Not everyone wants to be friends, kid! And it's not only that, you're also a nuisance so you need to be taught a lesson.
Kay: Well I don't want to fight you.
Alex: I don't care!
Enraged, Alex continues to swing at Kay but nothing connects. The students around notice their fight and they form a crowd around them.
Rach: Umm, is that your brother over there? When did he leave?
Lui: Aww man, and it looks like he didn't listen to me either. We have to help him!
Lilli: Wait! Stay here.
Lui: What?! But that's your brother...We should help him.
Lilli: It's okay, just watch.
The crowd gets larger and louder, the students chanting "Fight, Fight" as Kayleb continues to dodge Alex's strikes.
Kay: Please listen! I don't want to fight you!
Alex: It's too late for that! Now stop moving!
Fed up with the situation, Kayleb decides to put an end to it. He dodges one last strike, and with the opening, Kayleb delivers a precise blow to the center of Alex's chest. He then grabs Alex's arm and flips him onto his back. The crowd, shocked by Kayleb's feat, doesn't utter a word. The hallway left in silence.
???: What is going on here?!
The crowd scatters and the sound of frantic voices quickly fill the air. The principal was the cause of the eruption and was making his way to the center of the commotion.
Princ: What is this?! Young man, are you the one responsible?
Kay: Yes, sir.
Princ: And what about you young man? Young man? Can you hear me?
The Principal pulls out his walkie talkie.
Princ: I need medical assistance on the fourth floor. I have a young man on the floor unconscious.
10mins. Later. In the principal's office.
Princ: So...Mr. Kayleb Baker. It says here that today is your first day. Care to explain what happened?
Kay: All I was trying to do was talk to Mira. Alex didn't like that and wanted to fight me for it. I didn't want to fight but I didn't have much of a choice, given the circumstances.
Princ: You're telling me that making friends with Mira was all you were trying to do?...And he attacked you for it?
Kay: Yes!
Princ: Hmmm...Let's check the security footage.
The principal checks his computer for the footage leading up to the fight.
Princ: Hmmm... Seems like your word holds up...Okay look, I understand it's your first day and that you want to make friends, but there are so many other kids in this school. Given Alex's and Mira's history, I can tell you now that their friendship is very undesirable...You seem like a good kid, and since this is your first day, I'll excuse you from suspension and all the other stuff.
Unfortunately I still have to call home and inform your guardians that you got into a fight and broke someone's sternum. Which by the way, I'm still baffled by… How did you-...actually never mind. It's inappropriate for me to ask such questions. You're free to go Mr. Kayleb.
Lunch Period.
Rach: Look who it is! Are you alright?
Kay: Yea, I'm fine.
Rach: How did it go?
Kay: Fine. He excused me from everything. He also told me to just forget about them and try to make other friends.
Lui: For some reason these moments are always inevitable, but...I told you so. Mira is a very self-contained person. No one knows what her deal is and Alex is just her lapdog. So trust me when I say this...It's best you leave them alone.
Kay: Yea, you're right. Plus, I guess I got you guys now. right?
Lui: Of course man, we got you! And now you got some protection too, just in case Alex comes back around.
Rach: After what I've seen. I don't think he needs your "protection".
Lui: Aye man, I still got you.
Rach: Anyway, are you guys aliens or something?
Lilli: Aliens?! W-What makes you think that?!
Rach: Because what Kayleb did was out of this world. And the way you had complete and utter faith in him to be able to handle himself was so cool!
Lui: Hell yea, you were all like- "Watch this"!
Lilli: Haha, yea well… we're pretty close.
Rach: How old are you again Kayleb, Like ten? So not only are you smart but also strong, like there's no way you're from Earth. Ahh! You know what, since we're on the subject...I should let you guys know! I'm like a total science nerd and I want you guys to check this out!
Rachel pulls up a video on her phone.
Lui: Aww snap is that a-
Rach: Yup! A UFO!
Lui: ...That's crazy! It's just floating...
Lilli: {Shit! That's us!}
Jake: {You think she's onto us?}
Lilli: {I don't know.}
Kay: {She said she was a science nerd. It's probably just her thing to make space jokes.}
Jake: {Pretty accurate jokes.}
Rach: ...Yup, and what's even crazier is the fact that this was recorded in our area!
Lui: For real?! When was it recorded?!
Rach: Like three days ago. I wanna see if it landed somewhere in the woods. You wanna come?
Lui: Hell yea!
Rach: What about you guys?!...
Jake: {Do you guys think she'll be able to connect the dots?}
Kay: {Probably not. It's really all just a coin-}
Rach: Hello? Earth to new kids!
Lilli: Huh?
Rach: Do you guys want to come?
Lilli: Oh! Uhhh...sorry we can't. We have a curfew.
Rach: Aww that sucks. Well if we find anything we'll let you guys know.
Lilli: ...Please do! I'd love to know what you guys find!...Do you guys always go on adventures like these?!
Rach: Oh yea! All the time!...
After school
Rach: Alright Lil, see you tomorrow! Bye Jake, bye Kay!
Lui: Peace!
Lilli: See ya!
Jake: ...Today was certainly interesting to say the least.
Lilli: It sure was.
Lisa comes out of the car parked in front of the school and runs to them. Squeezing Kayleb once she gets there.
Lisa: Is everything okay?! Are you alright?! Oh...I shouldn't be squeezing you just in case you're-
Kay: I'm fine, I promise. I'm completely unharmed.
Lisa: You are?
Back Home.
Gerald: I wouldn't have expected any of you to get into a fight. Especially on your first day. What happened?
Kay: I tried making friends.
Jake: Don't say it as if you're completely innocent...He was warned not to mess with them and was told that it wasn't worth it...Yea, he ignored all of that.
Lilli: Yea, Kay, Why does this girl interest you so much anyway?
Kay: ...I don't know. She's pretty.
Lisa: Oh, so it's a girl you're trying to befriend. Do you like her?
Kay: Umm...I guess, is that weird? To like somebody at first sight. Is that a thing?
Lisa: Of course it is! But don't force it. She probably doesn't like you back.
Gerald: I still have so many questions. What about the boy, I heard you broke his sternum in one punch. How did you do that? How did you manage to not get hit?
Lisa: Those aren't questions you should be asking him.
Gerald: He'll be fine. Go ahead, Kay.
Kay: Well... He was pretty slow and his form was terrible. All I did was punch him.
Gerald: That's it?
Kay: Yup.
Lisa: Let's move on from this topic. How about some tv.
