A step to new beginnings

It was a sunny Monday morning with new beginnings and new goals. Hridhaan had woken up before sunrise, he had done his workout and other morning stuff. He was getting ready for the decision he had made and from today on it was all going to be for new beginnings.

He drove to the place where it all will begin. The place was not outside the busy city, it was located at a place where it was peaceful but busy too, and where you could avoid the big frustrating traffic jams.

He arrived and saw the workers he had hired already waiting for him in their Van. He shut his car engine off and walked up to them. They greeted each other and started talking regarding the work that is going to be done here. After their small conversation, they started their journey inside the property. They couldn't go inside as there was a big gate with a lock on it that now was rusty. Hridhaan gave the green signal to break it off so they could proceed with the work inside.

The workers started their work and Hridhaan made his way to the abandoned house that was gifted to him by his grandmother on his twentieth birthday.

He looked inside the house, everything was the same except now there was dust everywhere. He looked around while recalling the first day he came here.

Gayatri Kashyap grandmother of Hridhaan brought Hridhaan to the temple with her to pray and to thank God.

After praying they left the temple. They were in the car but they weren't going home Hridhaan noticed. He looked at his gran with questioning eyes, she understood his unasked question, smiled in return, and said, "Don't worry. You will see it for yourself where we are headed."

Hridhaan nodded and looked out of the window. They soon reached the destination but Hridhaan was lost in his thoughts and hadn't noticed it until the driver called out to him. He stepped out of the car simultaneously thanking the driver for opening the car door for him. He looked around curiously until his eyes landed on the giant gate and on his gran who was standing in front of it. He looked at his gran questioningly and confused. To his shock, his gran gave him a key and told him to open the gate. He opened the gate but his expression was full of questions but his gran didn't say a word she just looked at him with a smile. It was strange for him but he didn't say anything nor did he ask anything.

"Happy birthday my dear grandson." Gran wished him with a big smile on her face and tears in her eyes.

"Thank you." He stepped forward and wiped the tears that fell from gran's eyes.

"I am good, just happy," Gran said while blinking her tears. " You see this house?" Hridhaan just nodded. " It's is yours now," Gran said with a beaming smile on her face.

Hridhaan just looked shocked and wordlessly at his gran and back at the house that stood in front of him. They both were communicating through their eyes at that moment. Hridhaan finally came out of his shock mode and hugged his gran.

He was happy but he didn't feel so good because his gran bought him a house as a birthday gift. He was not expecting a house as a gift, it was something big in his life. And he wanted to make his own house with his hard work.

"You didn't have to, gran." He said in a muffled voice.

"Oh stop! I am giving it to you with my own will so don't..."

"Okay stop. I won't say and complain now. Sorry." He knew his granny was going to convince him one way or another for taking her gift, so he made it easy for her by accepting it without any fuss.

"I forgive you. Let's go and see the house." His gran said in excitement.

Hridhaan looked at his gran and shook his head at her excited behavior.

One of the doors in the house slammed hard against the wall and Hridhaan came out of his memories. He missed his granny a lot. A few years ago she passed away and it was a big shock for Hridhaan because for him she was very special but with her gone, it felt like a piece of him left him too. He feels empty. He still feels that way to this day. He misses her...a lot

Unknowingly a tear slipped from his eye. Hridhaan wipes his tear away, took a deep breath in, and focused himself on the task that needs to be done here.

Hridhaan started inspecting the house from inside, he hadn't visited this house in years. He walked around but not long after he started to sneeze and cough due to dust that is present there. He looked around, at some places in the house and they looked like they could fall apart anytime. He hadn't visited the house for years and the house wasn't looked after. The house needed a renovation.

Moments later he came out of the house and went towards the workers to see how they were doing with their work. He was satisfied with the work process.

Hridhaan made a to-do list regarding the house on his phone and then went to help the workers.

During break time, Hridhaan was eating and simultaneously working on his phone. He was sending work for his assistant that needs to be done. Break time had passed but Hridhaan was still busy with the office work.

He completed his work and after that, he went to see the work progress. The whole team was doing an amazing job.

With the progress of the work, Hridhaan was estimating that they were going to complete the work in this whole week or maybe earlier.

It was 5 p.m. and the workers closed the work for the day. Before heading off from there Hridhaan and the head of the workers had a conversation regarding the stuff that happened today.
