Hey

"Finally, it's over!" Shaneil yelled ecstatic making Rain wince. "Shut it will you! My whole body is still a little sore." Rain murmured from the ground.

Shaneil ignored her of course and continued shouting praises of joy to God. She was still too pumped up about being a bodyguard for a night and the hype in her was still going. Shaneil had the chance to throw out 10 drunks, stop 5 fights, and even DJ a little bit. It was all truly a dream come true. Rain just wished she could say the same.

While Shaneil was having fun, Rain was actually suffering. She had gotten puked on 3 times, was stuck in an argument with some lady about her stolen purse, and she even had to carry out a man who weighed at least 175 pounds tops. Her entire body ached and she was sore. All she wanted right now was to just sleep.

"Girls, there you are! This party was just too fabulous. I really think we made a fortune this year," Momma said, pulling out a wade of cash and handing Shaneil and Rain $50 each.

What a rip off. Rain thought.

"We'll have to do this another year soon okay? Now go rest up you guys have school in like 5 hrs tops." Mom waved them away and they frowned a bit at her dismissal but left without complaint.

"I'm taking a shower first. Is that okay?" Rain asked Shaneil, making her nod in agreement. "Yeah, you smell gross anyway so...enjoy." Shaneil said before walking away up the stairs making Rain frown.

She didn't think she smelled that bad.

Rain followed behind her after checking doing a discreet check on herself. "Maybe I do need that shower first." Rain thought a little disgusted. That vomit had gotten her pretty good.

Rain stayed at Momma's house often. Momma had taken it upon herself to make sure Rain had her own room there. In fact when the mail came to the house Rain's name was on it. It was like she lived there. But Momma didn't mind since Rain was like the child she always wanted.

Shaneil opened Rain's door and walked inside with Rain following. Rain's room was simple with plain white walls, a queen size pink bed, and a black dresser. Shaneil went straight to her bed and sprawled out all over the place. Rain glared at her instantly.

"Feet off, now!" She demanded making Shaneil groan but remove her feet. Rain went to her dresser and grabbed all of her necessary items before heading to the bathroom for a shower.

When Rain was done she glanced around at the porcelain toilet and was transfixed for a minute. Words began flowing and threw her mind, making her blank out for a second. When she came back to her senses she looked around for a piece of paper and found none. She got a sudden itch in her hand and dressed quickly. Her head was beginning to bother her.

Rain busted through the bathroom door startling Shaneil making her look at her in shock. When Shaneil realized that Rain was just going through another one of her fazes she rolled her eyes and walked off to the bathroom for her turn in the shower and shut the door.

Rain who wasn't even aware that Shaneil left. She quickly pulled out her notebook and a black ballpoint pen and began to write. Writing for what seemed like hours, ideas just kept pouring out of Rain like a storm. Writing what seemed like hours her fingers began to hurt as she wrote down her final words.

Rain sighed and closed her notebook. Her fingers ached but her head wasn't bothering her anymore. She put away her notebook and climbers in her bed. By the time her head hit the pillow, she was out like a light.

~°~

Rain had just closed her locker when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She whirled around to see Tye staring down at her with a frown on his face.

"You skipped yesterday." He commented making Rain frown back at him.

"Yeah I did, so what's the big deal. I don't even know you." Rain said, glaring at him. He nodded in agreement. "I know that. It's just that I was kind of hoping you would show me around. I mean, after all, I did kind of help you out yesterday." He replied making Rain feel a bit guilty.

She hated when other people were right. Tye really did help her out that day and she was being rude. Rain glanced down at her hands and fiddled with the pencil she was holding. "Okay fine. Let me see your schedule." She said defeated and held her hand out waiting.

Tye held up a finger and waved it slowly in Rain's face. "Nuh-uh, first let me see yours." He said, making Rain glared at him. "That's not how this is supposed to go."

He shrugged his shoulders and Rain let out a frustrated groan before pulling out her schedule from her binder.

"Thanks." Tye's eyes glanced up and down the paper before he pulled out his phone and snapped a quick picture of it. Rain snatched her paperback and gave him a small shove.

"Don't take pictures of my schedule." Tye rolled his eyes before pulling his schedule out of his back pocket and handing it to her. Rain was surprised to see that they had almost every class together.

She looked at Tye suspiciously making him frown again. "What now?" He asked sounding bored.

"Are you stalking me?" Rain asked, placing her hands on her hips making Tye's eyes widen a bit.

"What no! You know what, don't even worry about showing me around. I'll figure it out myself." Tye said now visibly annoyed and took his schedule back. Rain looked at him perplexed.

"So dramatic geez." She thought before calling after him as he started to walk away.

"Hey wait up Tye."

Rain jogged a little bit trying to catch up with Tye. But he was so tall and his legs were so long. Rain was on the verge of giving up when he stopped walking all of a sudden and she crashed right into his back.

"What do you want now?" He asked full of annoyance. "Um, look I'm sorry that I was being rude. It's not that I was trying to. It's just that I had a very bad day yesterday and I was still kind of annoyed by it. I was taking it out on you a bit, but if you want I could still show you around." She suggested with her eyes full of hope.

Tye turned around and squinted his eyes at her. He was examining her making Rain feel nervous. He finally leaned back and sighed. "I guess you can. Here." He handed her his schedule back making Rain let out a small smile.

"But keep the attitude to yourself." He warned, making Rain put her hands up in surrender.

"I wasn't even that bad." Rain said, defending herself. He let out a low chuckle and began walking down the hall. "Yeah, yeah whatever. You looked like you were ready to attack me."

"But I'm harmless." Rain swore, making him laugh.

"Sure you are?" He replied sarcastically.

Rain's eyes sparkled as she joked back with him full of humor. "Can I just take the plea?" Tye gave her a little shove and ruffled her hair a bit.

"You're alright kid. I like you, stick around." He said making Rain roll her eyes playfully.

"Stop calling me kid."
