Synopsis

Elysia Areklides is a lethal flower, a key pawn in the eternal war between vampire clans and the hunters that stalk them. As the daughter of Ares and Mnemosyne, she possesses abilities not granted to other vampires, and is a warrior for her clan. She finds herself intrigued by Evan, a rogue hunter and hater of vampires, who is dependent on her to aid her in finding his mother's killer.

Then there is Alec, Elysia’s surly bodyguard, who watches her every move.

After a confrontation with hunters at the Awakening ceremony ends in fire and blood, Elysia finds herself on the run. With the aid of Evan and Alec, she is determined to gain her family’s power back, get revenge, and end this curse upon her race once and for all.

Elysia is at the center of a millennia long war between gods and ancient heroes, the living and the dead. Raised to be leader of her clan, will she be able to forge a path ahead of her, or will she let herself be consumed by the flames?

The blade slid through muscle and bone easily, blood flowed freely to the Earth. Spurts gushed and trickled down the pallid corpse, as the gurgles and sputters of final breath echoed off of the cavernous walls. The thick crimson liquid ran into the carved grooves of the stone altar.

The altar began to glow and the room began to tremble, dust and debris fell from the ceiling of the temple ruins, the Doric columns swayed with the Earth as if they cheered and hailed the sacrifice only to slowly come to a halt and a silence that pursued the remnant ritual.

A smile quirked the edges of Rhea’s lips as she brought the blade to her lips, she ran her tongue along the length of the blade. She tasted the unharnessed power simmering within her victim. She gripped the elder god by his blonde curls and yanked his head back to stare into his eyes. Lifeless, they now glowed, flecks of fire danced beneath the surface.

“Zeus, how the mighty has fallen. My son.”

The author of Aether is at it again with another outstanding novel to add to your collections. By chapter three, readers will be thrust into a simultaneously terrifying and tittilating world of fallen gods, vampires, curses and an intricate web of relationships, schemes, and (I assume) struggles for power. Elysia is a female vampire, the most important potential heir to her clan of fallen gods facing an uphill battle to prove that a woman can be just as strong a successor as a man. But living in a ***ist, hierarchical world where finding a mate means being bound to obedience, this may not be so easy to do... Fortunately, she's got a unique power that can mess with one's own memory, and perhaps even more in store? Either way, the author creates real, living characters from paper and the excitement for Elysia's journey will only build as the chapters pile on. Most importantly, she is already relatable enough that readers won't find it a struggle to want to spend more time following her journey!! The atmosphere of the novel is the other thing I had to comment on. Every sentence is utilized and does a splendid job of painting a picture where readers can really immerse themselves in the world of Bloodlust. My final recommendation: Read this one! You won't regret it xD

Oh hello, all the greek Gods. I like the idea of combining Greek mythology with vamps, it makes for a great combo and an interesting read. The author's choice of words is impeccable, and it makes the prose flow without feeling crammed in a single chapter. Way to go my twin! Can't wait to read more of this story.

Shameless 5 star review from the author! Welcome to Bloodlust: Goddess of Vampires, I hope you enjoy reading it. This story came to mind with me wanting to mix some Greek Mythology in with Urban Fantasy/the vampire tropes we know so well. I've worked hard on this story, and I'm open to feedback and critique, so let me know your thoughts! This is a fantasy-romance story, set in an urban city center, it follows the adventure of Elysia, a young vampire on the cusp of her awakening, and the deadly battle between hunters and vampire clans that threaten to overtake her world. With the help of a hunter, her guard Alec and various individuals throughout there society, she forges her own path and attempts to take her family's power back. Enjoy the read!
