Under the shimmering light of the full moon, the leader of the wolves lay still with his eyes wide open, his senses alert and ready for battle. With each passing moment, the anticipation of the pack grew, their hearts beating in unison as they watched their alpha rise slowly, his powerful body casting a shadow across the forest floor. As he surveyed the surroundings, the rest of the pack stood frozen with bated breath, waiting for the signal to unleash their primal fury upon their enemies.

Tonight, they would level the entire forest for themselves. Then, slowly but surely, they would hunt anything that went against their will around the area, expanding their territory until they ruled the woods. Soon, when the time was right, they would turn their eyes toward the north, invading it for the power it held.

They had the strength to make it happen. Their claws could rend the flesh of anything that got in their path. Their fangs could pierce any armor.

With a howl, the alpha gave the signal. It was time for them to rule.

There was, however, one concern. The alpha had sent a scout a few days ago who had yet to come back. The alpha then sent other of his goons to investigate. They later come back with some perplexing news.

News that the scout they had sent turned into meat paste, only leaving his upper and bottom. Even though this shocked the alpha, he decided to shrug off the report. It was preposterous to an extent. He himself had detected nothing in the forest that can do such things.

Up to this point, nothing even resembling resistance to their advance had appeared, and they were almost at the center of the forest. Dozens of weak individuals would sometimes pick off one or two pack members but nothing else. For him to get reduced to nothing but meat paste? The thought itself was preposterous.

The scout must have been excited about the upcoming hunt to think straight and probably let his guard down. That was the alpha's conclusion as he kept his eyes forward.

Ahead lay a hill. It was precisely where the other scout said it was. Beyond this hill would lay hostile forces. This was not the alpha's first battle. He was guileful, and he never let his guard down. However, even he had to admit that something was a tad unusual.

A visage of a tiny human baby can be seen. Even though it was only a baby, it had a fleeting beauty to her, but her eyes emitted a shine that made the alpha shiver. The alpha had to admit that this fragile-looking human was not to be messed with.

Mumbling can be heard from the child as it tries to communicate with it.

"Ah~ ah~ is it working?" The human said to them. "Looks like it is, man. This is such a cool skill~ I don't think they'll be able to understand me. What a shame~."

The suddenness of the human startled the alpha wolf quite a bit.

"What are you guys waiting for? Let's have some fun." The human child taunted.

'Impertinent little bastard. What are you trying to achieve? Do you think you can take us on? How diverting! Our claws and fangs would make mincemeat out of you!'

It was time to show this human child their true power. The alpha gave the order. As if they were his own right hand, about a dozen wolves immediately set off to attack the human child. The first wave should have been all to slaughter the human girl. But instead, the alpha, already picturing the gruesome sight of the human child, let out a surprised yelp. The force he had sent toward the human child had been blown straight backward as they turned into meat paste, knocking some trees down in the process and revealing the moon's light.

What could this be? The alpha kept his mind sharp as he surveyed the area. The human child had not moved an inch. Did it do something?

'Nonsense... this is impossible!' The alpha thought as he looked at the human child. It was only a human.

They would occasionally hunt for monsters in the forest in groups. Without a powerful force, they weren't mentioned. Their whole existence was petty.

'This thing is threatening to destroy our pack?' The alpha fumed. 'Impossible!'

"Awooooooooo!"

The alpha gave the signal. The single to eradicate the human child. Dozens of wolves shot out of the pack as they charged for the human child. But the moment they got close, they were blown away. Repeating the same fate as the other wolves that were sent in earlier.

This irked the alpha. It annoyed me how powerless his pack was. Up until now, they were the ones dominating the forest. Killing anything that got in their way, but now the situation has been reversed.

"What are you guys doing?!" The alpha howled, "You think taking turns running in like that will help? Attack! Attack all at once, you idiots!"

The startled wolves halted their steps before looking at each other. They nodded. Then again, but all together, they charged forward. But nothing helped. The same scenes repeated over and over again.

'Hmmm, her attacks are getting weaker... she must be feeling tired from the continuous waves of attacks.'

The child's attacks would usually create air pressure that would knock down trees, but now, such things did not happen. The alpha came up with this conclusion and kept his eyes on the child. The alpha let his pack members continuously attack the child.

But nothing changed. After some time, the trees were drenched in blood as they dripped to the ground creating a river of blood. The child did not show any signs of fatigue; instead, it had a calm face, slowly gazing at the moon.

The confused alpha was shocked at how far awry his plans had gone. His pack was beginning to fall in disarray. That couldn't be allowed to continue. Their pack shone brightest only when grouped together. Mistrust in the alpha would lead to a fatal result. He understood that.

'I need to kill this wretched little worm...', he thought. 'You are indeed strong, but I am the strongest of my pack. I am more than enough, even by myself!'

The alpha ran for the human child with a ranged glint in his eyes. But, as it got ready to make mincemeat out of the child, it disappeared. The surprised alpha quickly halted its steps and frantically turned his head to its surroundings, finding nothing.

As the alpha began to question himself, the child appeared on the alpha's back, riding it like a horse.

"Thanks to you, I think I have a better understanding of my power. Now goodbye~ may you live a better life in the afterworld."

The alpha's head then made a 360 turn, instantly killing it. The remaining wolves screamed pathic yelps as they scampered away.

"Oops? Maybe I went too far?"
