Chapter 12_ Cannon Fodder

Lilith escorted the handcuffed Rosalina out of the office while Justina confidently led the way.

As Lilith watched the confident Justina, her sadness fled. She had had more time to calm down and think reflectively. When last had her miss ever fallen in trouble?

Moreover, when had the Young Mistress ever gotten angry at any of her siblings especially her younger sister. Everyone knew that one of the major reasons the Young Miss was favored amongst all the socialites was because of the backing of her eldest sister. The influence of her family name was below that of the superiority of her sister.

Which meant, the Young Mistress was forced to act out because the Young Miss had been framed. Since she could come to such a conclusion then Lilith was sure that her lady had also understood what was going on. The only thing that was baffling her was the reason the Young Mistress had exploded.

She had only seen that once and that was 3 years ago when the Second Young Master had gone MIA during a mission. Though he had been found later the rage in her eyes as she had stared at the message deliverer had frozen everyone.

There had been a rumor that for the three days she had taken leave from work that she had gone to drag him back herself from wherever he had gone but it had to have been an exaggeration. Not just anyone could enter the Army and request to search for their brother. Even though she is more powerful now, back then she hadn't really had much say in decisions that concerned the family.

The more Lilith thought about it, the more confused she became. What could have angered her Young Mistress so? As she thought more, she looked beside her at her Young Miss and she could see the concealed excitement and hunt in her eyes. She nearly fell from her shock but stabilized herself quickly.

The little movement caught the attention of Justina and she turned back with a frown. Lilith apologized and looked back to her lady who gave her an eye signal. Upon understanding, she smirked a bit then adjusted her facial expression to seem a bit scared.

Not long after, they arrived at the area where Raine was and it seemed like her anger had not reduced at all.

"On your knees!!!"

Lilith dragged her lady to kneel with her the instant she had heard Raine's instruction. It seemed like there was no hope for them was what she thought as she knelt down. She couldn't believe that their cannon fodder hadn't done anything yet but she had thought too soon for the next thing that happened both exasperated and gladdened her at the same time.

"I'm sorry for not receiving you properly Ms. Raine. Why don't we take this party to my office? I have something to tell you as well." Justina said as she stood in front of the kneeling Rosalina.

Raine glanced at her but didn't respond.

"Ms. Raine?!"

"Who are you?" Raine asked after a while.

Even amid the tension, everyone couldn't help but snicker. They understood that Raine was trying to put Justina off her high horse but the object of the scorn didn't seem to understand what was going on.

"That's true! It skipped my mind to introduce myself to you. I am Justina Clements, the new manager of your family's hangar. Do you mind following me into my office for a chat?" Justina asked with a polite smile which turned to a grimace not too long after.

"Yes, I mind. I have better things to do."

No matter how dense she was, there was no way Justina did not catch the disdain in Raine's tone and that annoyed her. 'How dare she look down on me?' Justina thought in anger and she decided to shred all politeness with her.

"I was trying to be polite and to save you from further embarrassment but since you do not appreciate my thoughtfulness then I'll just go straight to the point!"

"How can you humiliate your sister amid all your employees, Ms. Raine? I understand you're her eldest sister and thus have the right to discipline her but what you are doing is simply throwing away the name of your sister and indirectly your family. Moreover, your sister cares a lot about you but you are very insensitive to her feelings. What type of sister are you?"

Raine paused for a while and calmly turned towards Justina, giving her her full attention. "Really? Manager Justina, right? Does it seem like my family's matter is so easy to interfere with? An outsider telling me what to do? and my own employee insulting me in public...you don't fear death do you?"

"The truth might seem bitter to you but I'm only standing up for my friend. I cannot stand by and watch Lina being treated unfairly." Justina said righteously and Raine laughed loudly.

As merry as her laugh was, people couldn't help but shiver.

"Who told you you were standing by? You've not settled your own problem but you're jumping into another person's own? How absolutely foolish of you!!!" Raine chuckled.

Justina stared at Raine confusedly. She was very sure she hadn't done anything that could put her in trouble so she didn't understand the 'gibberish' Raine was sprouting.

"Speechless? Don't worry you'll understand after meeting your identical sister in the cell. Rose? April? Apprehend her!"

"Ms. Raine! Ms. Raine! You cannot do this! This is against the law! Ms. Raine!!!" Justina screamed as she was dragged out.

Raine looked at her sister and Lilith and told them to get up. "Drag your miss and let's go. We'll talk later when we get home."

Raine walked ahead of them and went into her car. As Rose was more responsible as compared to April, she was given the responsibility of taking Justina and the other impudent lady to the cell for further questioning. While April was to follow Raine, Rosalina and Lilith home.

Raine waited patiently for her sister to enter the car then spoke five minutes after the driver has begun to drive. "What did you find out?"

"Madam President can't even wait a while before questioning her beloved sister," Rosalina said with a pout as she stretched forward her hands. "It's okay if you don't even show that you miss me but shouldn't you ask me to be released by now. My hands are aching me."

Raine turned to glare at Lilith who immediately removed the handcuff from her lady.

"Ahhh...now I feel so much better! Raine, tell me, you really missed me right?" Rosalina smiled and pounced on her sister who caught her and threw her on the seat next to her.

Rosalina didn't care about that as she linked her arms through Raine's. "I really really missed you, Raine," Rosalina muttered and closed her eyes as she cuddled with her sister.

Even though Raine didn't say anything, she held onto her sister and patted her back. Her siblings meant the world to her. They were and have always been there for her. At the toughest, loneliest, and darkest time of her life, they were the ones who brought her out of the dark into the light.
