"You don't do it that way!" "No, I think this one is right!" "Crap!" James fell off the table while contending with Evan. The lights also fell all over him. He clears his face from the tinted lights as he smiles. "Welp. we both were wrong." "Absolutely." Evan held his hand out, helping James to stand up.
"Why were we doing this again?" Evan asked James who was dressed up in a clown costume. "Oh, don't be such a boomer! It's October! The ghostober! We are supposed to have fun!!" James pushed Evan as he again reach for the table. "It's just 10th October!" Evan shrieked.
"It's for the kids and a special guest!"James again tried to put the lights up. "Guest? who?" "Oh, don't be such a jerk and take this!" James threw the lights on Evan. Evan knew he couldn't complain anymore. He is was indeed pissed off by the fact that the teachers had to decorate the hall.
He looked around the messy hall and couldn't help but smile at the teachers who were giggling as fools while putting up the props. It felt like home, and warmth was all over inside that hall. "Maybe it's not that bad," Evan whispered. "It certainly isn't" a tender voice answered.
Evan turned his left side to find a lady with orange hair smiling at him. "You are the new computer teacher right?" She said as she let her hand out for a handshake. "Ah yes. Evan." Evan answered as he firmly shook her hand. "Oliva." She remarked with a smile.
Oliva seemed like in her early twenties. She had freckles on her face, which was accompanied by a considerate voice and smile. She had a firm body and light skin tone.
"I teach art." She responded to Evan, as Evan noticed a paintbrush on her hand. "Then I am precisely sure that you are good at it." Evan soothed her as Oliva tried to hide her blush.
Evan and Oliva started walking side by side.
Evan- "Ah, I don't really know what I should help others with. Is there something I can help you with?"
Oliva-"Welp, Help me bring on the pumpkins so I can pain them scary."
Evan-"Sure. Oh, Why are we decorating it so early?"
Oliva-"Kids love Halloween. and we love kids! So, we just spend our time decorating it for the grant day of Halloween! It is kind of a ritual."
Evan-"Sounds great. Do you know who is the special guest at the party this year?"
Oliva-"If I am right, It will be the director's Daughter."
Evan-"Director?"
Oliva-"Oh, you didn't know? Your teacher, Mr kile is the director."
Evan- "Wait, what?"
Before Evan could express his bewilderment, he felt himself surrender in the gravity and hearing a silent ring in his ear. In an uncomplicated phrase, Evan fell as he stepped over the balls.
INFIRMARY
James could scarcely control his smile. with a smile on his face, he said, "You fell in front of everyone." Evan gave him a death glare, he drew the ice bag closer to his face. "I know it's embarrassing. now leave."
James beamed as he left the infirmary. Evan lets a sigh out. He moves towards the mirror. His forehead from the right side was blue and bruised. "Perfect Halloween." He scowls as he washed his face. He slap-wake himself and said to himself while looking straight into his eyes.
"Gather your shit together. What do you think you are doing? You can't get too comfortable here, You'll have to leave this place soon."
Tears in disguise of water fell down his face. He could feel himself shaking and turning blue. his head ached, and he felt numb.
He stopped himself from crying. He knew if he started expressing emotions, life would be more bitter. Again, he knew somedays all we can do is hold our tears and move on with life.
So he rubs his face and leaves the infirmary. Maybe, if someone hugged and said to him, "You can do it, I believe in you." Evan would have felt better.
But that was the obstacle, No one was there. Not even Evan.
