In The Dark - Part 1

There was darkness and silence like before, but this time, it wasn't accompanied by cold. It seemed as if the lights were off, and the ground I walked on was plush and carpeted. I took a deep breath and told myself to suck it up. I knew I was no longer in my body on the sofa beside Elise's soft typing. I was now in another room, and judging by the carpeted feel of the ground, I figured there would have been a light switch around me somewhere.

I took a few steps back and forth, gauging the distance until I hit a wall. I couldn't feel anything else around myself but that single wall. I ran my hands up and down the velvety-feeling wallpaper, hoping to find a light source of sorts, but failed miserably. I continued running my hands in the same motion, now walking along the length of the wall.
